Unity Point Health- St. Luke’s Hospital Unity Point Health – St. Luke’s Hospital is located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. It was originally founded in 1884 and was actually Cedar Rapids’ first hospital. The Gospel of Luke was also written around eighty CE, written somewhere outside of Palestine (Tatum, 1999, p.34). The author may have been Luke the Gentile Christian, writing to another Gentile, Theophilus. Like Matthew, Luke is strongly believed to be written after Mark, with references from him, “Q” and “L” if following the Two (Four)-Document Hypothesis. The authors of Luke and Matthew are believed to be written during the same time without the knowledge of knowing. As mentioned before, Luke is about fifty percent longer than Mark is, making it important source since it contains more information about the historic life of Jesus. There is also a second part to Luke which is the book Acts, but is separate in Bible. Both include the beginnings
When I was told to choose a saint to be my patron saint for Confirmation, I thought the choice was obvious for me. It took me just a few moments and one quick touch to my neck to remember my patron saint, Saint Sebastian. I have a medal that I wear every time I leave the house with a picture of Saint Sebastian that says “Saint Sebastian Pray For Us.” I was given this medal when I was very young.
Saint Sebastian is the Patron of Saint of three things. Those three things are soldiers, athletes and those who desire a saintly death. However, in Saint Sebastian’s lifespan he shows multiple Gifts of the Holy Spirit, why he is a saint, and why he is chose to be my patron saint for my Confirmation. But, to know why he shows multiple Gifts of the Holy Spirit, why he is a saint and chosen to be the patron saint for my confirmation’ we would need the history of Saint Sebastian first.
I chose to read The Gospel of Luke for my project. It is said that The Gospel of Luke was written somewhere between 80 CE - 90 CE. The Gospel of Luke was written for Theophilus, who was called “Friend of God”. But The Gospel was also written for a wider audience, including converts and potential converts.
Florida Hospital has grown to be one of the largest healthcare providers in the United States. Impressively, Florida Hospital had a very humble beginning and a modest growth. In 1908, a small group of Seventh Day Adventists in Orlando developed their vision of bringing health care to the area. As part of their philanthropy, they were able to raise the funds necessary to purchase Florida Hospital’s first facility near Lake Estelle. It was a two story farmhouse that had a wraparound porch and had once served those needing treatment for tuberculosis. The facility had the capacity to care for 20 patients at any given time.
Luke the Evangelist is quoted saying, “And so I tell you, keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.” My door opened specifically at the age of five. When I was young, I was consistently at the doctor’s office or the hospital or the ER. The medical history is colorful and still progressing. However, the sicknesses I endured have assisted in shaping my personality and outlook as well as given insight on my future plans.
When I first went to St. Mary's in preschool did never wanted to go because I just wanted to stay home. That's how it was for my early schooling years, but eventually I made friends and was having a good time at school. I think that the School of St. Mary has made me a better person throughout my life. My favorite thing at St. Mary's was the sports some years we didn't win often and other years we did. At school the teachers helped me reach my academic goals and were very nice to me. Now in eighth grade I like going to school to see my friends and teachers. In school right now I have a lot of fun. My favorite at St. Mary's are math and science. With great teachers like Ms. Baniewcz I can reach the moon. St. Mary's has taught me well and I will
The gospel of Luke is an in-depth story of Jesus life, his purpose, his vision and his sacrifice; from birth to death Luke does an amazing job painting a beautiful picture of Jesus, showing his ancestry, portraying him as a human just like you and I. Luke does tell a lot of the same things as Matthew and Mark but a much more in depth description and explains Jesus identity, his journey, the religious leaders of the time, and his resurrection and crucifixion.
St. Benedict was an incredible monk that created 12 monasteries and was an abbot for many years. St. Benedict was destined for greatness when he was young and was able to pray for a vase to be fixed. He preformed many miracles and was a man that has greatly impacted Catholicism. He created a Rule that monks, and everybody else in the catholic community should live by. Some rules that relate to my life that I have found are rules about clothing, rank, humility, obedience, and serious faults. Along with finding rules that relate to my life, I have found some rules that would be a challenge for me but would improve my life are amount of food consumed, silence, prayer, repent for reproofs, and impossible tasks.
Father Matthew considered himself to be a fair and just man. He was a prophet to his people, and through his guidance, he would lead them all to salvation. So it is of course the will of God that he be given certain liberties his own people must stay away from to avoid falling to sin. He is not so easily corrupted. Being married and descended from him is a great honor. After all, it guaranteed them a spot next to him in heaven. Each wife was even given her own fine house in the village, second in size only to his. They were offered the finest clothes, and first choice of produce during each harvest as well, as a more immediate reward for being of service to the father.
SAINT MARY’S CHURCH On Saturday September Twenty Second I attended a mass at Saint is located in the down area of Saint Mary’s Pennsylvania. The church is connected to a convent with a local elementary school across the street. It stands to be the biggest and oldest church in Saint Mary’s. Saint Mary’s was the first Catholic Church established in the new found community. German settlers that established homes in the Saint Mary’s area created the church. The German parishioners are the people responsible for establishing the church in 1852. But the town was very segregated between the Germans and the Irish. The Irish decided to establish there own Catholic Church, which is, called Sacred Heart Church. The church is located less that a block

In a perfect world everyone would live in harmony and conflict would not be present. In reality everyone has values and believes which often times results in conflict between individuals and groups. We do not always have control over the conflict that exists, but we do always have control over how we react to conflict. Today conflict exists between many individuals and groups and now more than ever we need to understand how to respond to the existing conflicts to reduce the hate and crime that accompanies the existing conflicts. Jesus instructs us how to respond to conflict, but we have to be willing to listen.

Saint Peter was born in Bethsaida Gaulanitis, Syria Roman Empire at around 1 AD. Peter’s feast day is on the twenty ninth of June.
