There’s no doubt that Star Wars is one of the most impactful films of all time, having changed the movie-making game ever since it premiered in 1977. It quickly became a global phenomenon and has accumulated some of the most passionate fans in the universe. Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope is a great example to use in order to illustrate the properties discussed throughout the course. In this paper, I will analyze the entire movie. To begin, I will start by giving some basic information about the motion picture, such as the director and type of film. Next, I will provide a brief summary of the film.

Music is a powerful tool in our media to convey specific emotions from the audience. Television, film, news, sports, musicals and theatre are types of media using music to bring out our emotions. Music transports the audience into the world being watched. Movies use music to convey ideas and feelings to large audiences. Through music we feel and react to developments of the mood, landscape and tension in a part in the film. Can you imagine our favorite films without music? These films would not be as exciting without the orchestrated energy. The added music changes everything in the film, and a wonderful score can uplift a movie from decent to classic. The music from Star Wars: The Force Awakens composed by John Williams effectively creates a resounding atmosphere for the settings, helps communicate the story, and strikes an emotional cord to help the audience follow the film.

The Force Awakens is the newest episode of Star Wars that has been released in theatres, and takes place many years after the fall of the Galactic Empire. The Resistance, the new Rebel Alliance, now faces a new threat, the First Order. In the hopes of defeating this threat, they look to Luke Skywalker, who’s whereabouts are unknown. Rey, the capable and independent protagonist, rescues a BB-8 unit and discovers it holds the missing piece of the map that leads to Luke. Together, along with Finn, Han Solo, and Chewbacca, they must find a way to deliver the piece of the map to The Resistance and stop the First Order’s plans of annihilation.

“Do or do not,” says Yoda, in the acclaimed science fiction movie Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, “there is no try” (Empire). This quote is perhaps the most famous of the character’s, and perhaps one of the most famous in the whole franchise. It highlights an idea that the scene perpetuates: the fact you intend to do something doesn’t matter, only whether or not it is done. This is not a perfect metaphor for the application of knowledge, but it fits in rather easily. Without an effect, an application, all you have is abstract knowledge – that trying that Yoda denies – and in that way value has been diminished. Two areas of knowledge which especially highlight the values and limitations of that claim are the natural sciences and religion.

Princess Leia, who is in charge of the Rebel Alliance, is being held hostage by the evil villians of the Galactic Empire in their effort to take over the galaxy. Luke Skywalker and Captain Han Solo team up with the lovable robotic duo, R2-D2 and C-3PO to rescue Princess Leia and restore justice in the galaxy.

In a galaxy far, far away is where my love resides. Your entertaining characters keep me engaged. The battles between your starships are exciting and keep me on the edge of my seat. The tension you exhibit between the factions makes me feel conflicted. I don’t know whether to root for the Light Side or the Dark Side. You keep my attention for hours on end.

The dramatic war-like classic of a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, it is Star Wars. It made a huge impact in the 70s for its THX digitally mastered sound, new visual effects, but most of all the marvelous theme, without which, Star Wars would not be half the film it is now. It took the science fiction genre to a whole new era. Therefore, Star Wars IV is the best science fiction movies of all times.

The lighting and sound effects, were something to write home about for sure, however, the first night they were slightly off in timing. Nothing major, just a phone ringing clearly to early, or lights going for a second too long. However, at other times they were absolutely perfect.

We play these stories out in our heads not simply for the flashes and bangs of entertainment value, but also, if only subconciously, to hold up a mirror our own souls and better understand the human condition.
