“The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands” (Psalm 19:1–4). The book Psalms was written by King David, and in this verse he was talking about how the heavens proclaim the glory of God ,but does it really? Yes, the sky really does proclaim the glory of God; there are actually three areas of Christ's life when the sky shows signs. The first was when God showed signs of Christ's conception. The second sign was when the star of Bethlehem appeared and how it showed Christ's birth. The final sign of Christ's life was at the crucifixion of Christ. Today we have new technology that allows us to do many incredible things. One of those things is the ability to calculate the stars, where they will go and where …show more content…
We saw His star when it rose and have come to worship Him.” The Magi must have seen something that symbolized king, Jews, and birth (or new). Well, during the first paragraph Jupiter, the king planet passing Regulas, the king star, inside the lion (sign for the Jewish tribe of Judea) during the Jewish new year Rosh ha-Shanah. This clearly symbolizes king, Jew, and birth (or new). Matthew chapter two also says that the star rises in the east just like most stars. The fourth qualification is that it appeares at an exact time, the fifth king Herod didn't know when it appeared so it couldn't be a supernova or comet or king Herod would have noticed it. The last three qualifications are that the star had to endure over a long period of time, it had to stay in front of the magi as they traveled , and it had to stop over Bethlehem what could meet all these requirements: the king planet Jupiter. The heavens show signs at the beginning of Christ's life, but what about the end of Christ's life are they there also. Yes, the heavens reveal signs during the crucifixion of Christ, but this time we can know exactly what time the signs match up with the Bible. During the crucifixion Christ there were not only signs in the heavens but also on earth “At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth shook, the rocks split” (Matthew 27:51). Matthew talks about when they put Jesus on

Since the beginning of time, man has been fascinated with the stars and their possibilities.
When we think of stars, we often think that they are all the same. We often think that they are all just big balls of gas burning up to billions of light years away. However, that isn't exactly true. The truth is that stars are very diverse. Just like anything else in our Universe, stars fall into many different classifications based on its defining characteristics. In this essay I will discuss several different types of stars.
Calculating stellar movements 5 millions years in the future is no simple math problem. Objects that are great distances appear to move much slower the those closer. We are only just beginning to learn about the behavior of the stars and we cannot know if the will behave the way we expect.
And finally, David closes with the revelation that he is truly dust, and in great need of God’s saving power. In spite of all his accomplishments, He was ever mindful of who he was outside of God. Indeed, we could all glean great wisdom from David’s life as we embark on our own personal journeys through the psalms. Bullock (2005) brings insight into this psalm, when he noted that “the psalms of thanksgiving are the worshiper’s gift of praise to God for the deliverance he has received” (p.
Stargazing can enable us to comprehend our place in the universe and investigate the likelihood of life existing somewhere else in it. Since the universe is so tremendous, astronomers, utilize distinctive units of estimation not quite the same like we use in our
All you see at night is a yellow dot, but i can tell you and which star is hot and which star is not, the absolute, magnitude , color, temperature and luminosity, and location of stars on an H.R. diagram. An H.R. diagram is abbreviated for Hertzsprung-Russell diagram, one of the most useful and powerful plots in astrophysics, but is also very effective in stellar astronomy. It’s named after the Danish and American astronomers in the early Twentieth Century. The diagram presents and illustrates the various sizes of stars, like a scatter plot, but can also fall into distinct groups.
The article printed in the Nature News on June 18, 2015 describes the first look at the first generation of stars that give way to the universe. These stars, most likely from the late developing cluster of the first generation of stars, are strong evidence of primordial stars. Primordial stars are stars that are considered the original stars of the universe, and the precursors to the rest of the stars and celestial bodies in the universe.
For many, the painting Starry Night, by Vincent Van Gogh, is simply paint on a canvas. Created in the summer of 1889, while Van Gogh was in a mental asylum, others perceive the painting as a message of Van Gogh’s desire for acceptance and normalcy. Heavily influenced by the Expressionist movement, Starry Night is a physical representation of Van Gogh’s feelings of melencholy during his stay in the asylum. His troubled mind allowed Van Gogh to create a painting with a yearning mood. Throughout the years, people have tried to understand Van Gogh’s reason for painting Starry Night. One way that people have used to try to understand him is through ekphrastic poetry, which is poetry about a work of art, such as Anne Sexton’s ‘The Starry Night” poem and Don McClean’s “Vincent (Starry, Starry Night).” While “The Starry Night” by Anne Sexton depicts Starry Night as having an ominous mood, the empathetic mood in “Vincent (Starry, Starry Night),” by Don McClean, with its use of sympathetic diction, detail, and figurative language best mirrors that of the original painting.
The survey plans to eventually map the entire sky in enormous detail, such as measuring the distances to over a million galaxies and quasars, and also calculating the positions and absolute brightness millions upon millions of celestial objects.
Looking at the Hebrew Bible, the Psalms fall into the Ketuvim, or “Writings.” The Hebrew Bible has Psalms listed as tehillâ; “a derivative of hālal. This root connotes being sincerely and deeply thankful for and/or satisfied in the lauding a superior quality(ies) or great, great act(s) of an object.” The book of Psalms renders itself to speak into every situation a person could have; in times of sadness, happiness, when looking for some wisdom, or just feeling thankful for who he is and all he has done in your life. Dr. Cartledge stated in his lecture on Psalms that “the central overriding theme of Psalms is the presence or absence of God.” In the Jewish tradition, there are descriptions at the beginning of the psalms that will tell either who wrote it, who it is written to, or the song tune. When reading this scriptural passage, the first thing I asked myself was,
In the year 1609, the first proper space advancement was made; a telescope created by Galileo. Over four hundred years later, space exploration has been continuously evolving, changing and advancing at an increased rate per year. Every year, the knowledge of space data almost doubles; new planets and moons are being discovered each year, the known universe expanding beyond what we previously knew. It is estimated that within the next two decades, we may reach the point where we have discovered most galaxies in the universe. With the rapid influx of information, astronomers are asking themselves: what is the next stage for astronomy?
The starry night is painting by Vincent van Goh done in 1889. The painting is inspired by the night view. It is a painting that was done by oil on canvas just as the way traditional paintings are done. However, the starry night was not painted at night as expected. It was done during day using van Goh’s imagination. According to van Goh, he always expressed his liking to draw a painting portraying the sky at night. Van Goh’s works on the starry night was inspired by the night skies and surroundings of the asylum where he was receiving treatment due to breakdowns (Brooks, 2012).
In the bible, it states from the wise men the star was the brightest star. Common theories say the star could have been a comet, a meteor, a nova, and a host of others. Comets are in fact very bright, but in the ancient times comets were regarded as omens of doom and destruction. God would not have used a negative to signify the birth of Christ when he wanted Christ to be received in a joyous manner. The star could not have been a meteor because they shoot across the sky and do not stop. Also, meteors do not last long in the sky, thus failing to suffice for the nine points of the star. The latter is also same for a nova; they do not endure over time. The fact that Herod needed to ask what the sign was and when it appeared shows us that it needed to be a common appearance in the sky, or something not very noticeable.
