I went to a private christian high school whose graduates are likely to end up at places like Kuyper College, Cornerstone University, and of course Calvin College. I did not want to follow that pattern, so I was looking into public universities by the end of the second semester of my junior year in high school. As I was looking into academic programs, clubs, faith, community, resources and all other important things that I value for each school, Calvin seems to have it all. That same year, I received an email from the pre-college program of Calvin to consider applying for the Entrada scholars program. After completing the program, I realized that Calvin is my place to be. I prayed about it and each and everyday during my senior year of highschool,

Ever since I was six years old, the year I was baptized, I have been on fire for the Lord. I attended a Christian school for eight years and have always been very involved at my church. My first experience outside of my “Christian bubble” was when I went to a public high school. For the first time in my life, I was out of my comfort zone. Being at a public school challenged my faith, strengthened my leadership skills, and forced me to branch out and meet people I would have never encountered otherwise. However, even though being at a public school helped strengthen my faith in ways I would have never guessed, I believe attending a Christian university—like Liberty—is the best choice to further my education. Going to college is new and exciting, but it can also be a demanding and intimidating experience. Being so far away from home, in a different environment,
Education is a very important aspect to many people. For me, getting a well-rounded education will help me reach my lifetime goal of being happy and bringing that happiness to people by helping them. The spark of motivation came in a very unusual way. It happened when taking the mandatory Chemistry class sophomore year of high school. This class was interesting and eye-opening to me because it provided a different look on life. I knew after completing the class that I wanted to pursue a career in the medical and science field. Texas A&M University is my top choice school because I know that attending this school will give me the best education and it will also help me reach my goals in the future.
Having a plan about what to do with your future is an essential part of being successful. This plan could be as simple as going into the workforce right out of high school, or going to further your education. A plan should revolve around your personal career choice. A two step education plan to pursue a career as a bakery owner is the best choice for me after high school, even though some may argue against it.
For the fall of 2017, I would like to attend Calvin College. A lot of positive aspects of the school sparked my interest during the campus tour and the University Club event. I would like to major in Elementary Education and double minor in journalism and Chinese. Also, I plan to take part in the string orchestra at Calvin College. There, I want to seek a higher degree of education and go beyond the standard four-year bachelor’s degree. This is because recent studies have shown that teachers leave and search for another career within the first five years due to various reasons, and, as a result, there continues to be a shortage of qualified people in the field. By seeking a higher level of education, I believe it will enable me to be more successful as a future teacher of young adolescents.
Framingham State University will prepare me for a productive life, enhance my learning and enhance my current leadership skills, intern this will contribute to my future once I graduate. An opportunity of this caliber would launch my learning and continue to ignite my passion for learning. I feel that all my experiences have lead me to find this school and get the most I can out of my time here if I get admitted.
Transferring to a four year school has never been a question for me, it is and always has been, a non negotiable expectation I have for myself. I am currently attending Mohawk Valley Community College, a two year school which I will be graduating from in December, after only three semesters, with an associates degree in International Studies. I chose a community college initially because I was unsure as to which field I wanted to major in. Before I made my decision however, I was presented with the idea that I should save money and go to a community college where I could change and explore different majors without any serious financial repercussions. This turned out to be the best decision I could have made at the time, as not only have

The first thing I believe you should know about me is that my mother is my best friend. As a single mom, raising me wasn't exactly the easiest, but she persevered to give me the perfect example of what a powerful woman should be. Along with that example, she's provided me with a wonderful level of support that has given me ample opportunity to discover who I wish to be. She's given me all I need to find where I want to go in life, and where I want to be is at Hollins University. Not only does Hollins hold the same backbone of powerful women, it also holds a sense of safety and understanding that only a community of women can have. This type of community is vital to me. Not only that, but the educational opportunities for the nursing program
Someone once said, “ Our background and circumstances may have influenced who we are, but we are responsible for who we become.” Anderson High School has made me the person I am today, no doubt. I entered high school a shy freshman and now I am leaving a independent confident person.
Attending North Greenville University has been one of the best decisions I’ve made, aside from devoting my life to Christ. However, it was not the easiest choice nor was it my first choice, it was definitely God’s best option for me though. My senior year of high school when I was searching for colleges, my initial thought was to find a college that supported my beliefs and my major. Though in my family and friend groups the only schools I heard of in state were Anderson University and Southern Wesleyan University. I looked at both of these options, both were right factually. What I was looking for in schools were there, but I didn’t feel at home with either two. I knew God had a better plan for me, where I would actually enjoy being at school not to just go because I have to be there to get a degree.
