I am glad I chose Lebanon Valley College; it feels like home to me. I look forward to meeting new people and all of the opportunities life has in store for me.
For my first semester of college, I hope to achieve many things. I want to make more friends, get A’s and B’s, and hopefully get to know my professors a little better. One goal for the First Year Experience class I hope to achieve is become a better writer. In order to get these goals I must work hard. To make new friends, I want to become more involved. I believe my greatest accomplishment to date has definitely been being accepted into my number one school, Tuskegee University, despite my fears that I would be rejected based on my nontraditional schooling background. It had been a dream of mine since I visited the campus when I was little, a dream that only became stronger as I heard stories about the school from my parents. I had been confident that I would be accepted, but as I grew older and begun to compare my schooling to that of my peers - who attended public school - I began to think that such a dream would not come to fruition. Yes, I could proudly say that I had taken several college courses and I had documents ready to prove that I had learned something if requested, but that didn’t
At this point in my college career, I have reached the limit as to what the Miami-Dade Honors College can offer me. So far I have pursued an Associate in Arts degree in Biology and am looking forward to the next step in my education. My experiences here have allowed me to grow heavily both as a student and an individual, but I am limited in the amount of resources currently available to me. For example, I do not have the variety of courses and study abroad opportunities that four-year college students have. Hence, I have taken all the science and math courses towards my associates degree at Miami-Dade College, but I am left to explore other options to continue to advance my preparation for a career in the science field. This is because I have
Middlesex community college has impacted me tremendously as a scholar and as a human being. Middlesex community college provides a friendly environment which encourages me and other students to be creative. I met new friends. I had the chance to help the community by volunteering through the student and engagement office. Most important I had the chance to express myself and sharing my experience and story as a human being. The faculty, staff, and counselors are extremely helpful. They work with us to make our goals are achievable. I glad that I did the decision in attending Middlesex community college.
Having a plan about what to do with your future is an essential part of being successful. This plan could be as simple as going into the workforce right out of high school, or going to further your education. A plan should revolve around your personal career choice. A two step education plan to pursue a career as a bakery owner is the best choice for me after high school, even though some may argue against it.
My intended major is that of bachelors in Japanese. Japanese has always been an interest to me as I grew up in the Japanese side of my household. Due to this upbringing I have been exposed to Japanese culture since I can remember. Though my Father and Grandparents refused to teach me the language as a young age, they began to support my interest in the language and culture when I started journey in Mira Costa Community College. In Mira Costa, while taking my first Japanese course, I was introduced to the Japanese club at the college. In this Club, the members made sure to create activities and programs that would help spread the culture and knowledge of Japanese and the language. Along with this came people that introduced myself to the International

As an aspiring high school student I must broaden my knowledge to the community which I may reside in the mere future. Which is why I decided Montclair State University is the right choice for me. Montclair University possesses the ability to both educate me academically and culturally to the world around me. Through its large and diverse community I would be able to expose myself to something new and unique everyday. To climb to a higher level of enrichment, all I must do is walk out the front door and speak with the thousands of people from all over the world who are enrolled to the university. The campus also hosts hundreds of classes, programs, and events which can help educate me and steer me down a path of understanding and acceptance.
Living in a city where there are many great universities, the university that I believe meets all three of my financial, academic and social components is Temple University. Temple University serves many purposes in the lives of various people. It is a place to pursue life’s passions, a nurturing learning environment, an engine of employment, a melting pot of ideas and creativity, and also a place where leaders are made. It is the 5th largest provider of professional education in the nation with more than 400 academic degree programs. Not only do I fit the admission requirements, but Temple also has the majors I am seeking. It has one of the best medical schools citywide, making it the second-highest ranking of all medical schools in Philadelphia
