STATEMENT OF PURPOSE I am entering the most crucial phase in my life; a phase during which I need to make significant academic decisions that will have a bearing on my future life and career. After thorough introspection of my strengths and interests I have concluded that a program that integrates Economics, Accounts and Business studies is the most appropriate choice for me. My father is a Fellow Chartered Accountant and Associate Cost and Works Accountant. He works in the area of international development, handling loan disbursement, financial appraisal, review of accounts and audited statements of different development projects financed by the Asian Development Bank (ADB). He is presently posted in ADB, Manila and supervises the …show more content…
In eleventh grade, I successfully completed a project in Economics using statistical tools of analysis. The project was to design and conduct a survey on the use of mobile phones and interpretation of the result using graphs, pie charts and percentages. This project helped me comprehend the basic concepts of Statistics such as formulating appropriate questionnaires to elicit adequate and useful information, conducting surveys, using analytical tools of statistics, interpretation of results and conjecturing. I also undertook a project in Business Studies on Shares and Debentures and stock market. This project was assigned to make us familiar with the various financial instruments used in the stock market. This project helped me gain insights into the fundamentals of the subject and get an overview of the finance and the Stock market. Recently, in twelfth grade, we were assigned project in Accountancy on the Analysis of Financial Statements. This project required us to take a company’s audited financial statements and analyze its operational stability and financial soundness with the help of accounting ratios, share price analysis and cash flow statements. This project has proved to be a ready-reckoner that has helped me understand several concepts through practical analysis and
Statistics provides us with very useful tools and techniques that aide us in dealing with real world scenarios. I have been able to learn several useful concepts by studying statistics that can aide me in making rational and informed decisions that are supported by the analysis results. Statistics as a discipline is the application and development of various processes put in place to gather, interpret, and analyse the information. The quantification of biological, social, and scientific phenomenons, design and analysis of experiments and surveys, and application of
Environmental issues are not restricted to specific regions, but are global and this makes tackling them even more difficult. Problems such as rising pollution levels, climate change phenomena and resource depletion threaten to ruin our future if unchecked. Water, soil and air pollution have been responsible for many illnesses and fatalities all over the world. It has been estimated that approximately 12.6 million people died as a result of living or working in unhealthy environments. Access to safe and clean energy is another challenge the world is facing today. Many rural regions in India and many other countries still lack access to usable energy. Since my early days in college, I have made an attempt to gain a deeper understanding of these problems. My love and passion for the environment grew as I kept learning and as a student of engineering, I was determined to come up with solutions to these environmental challenges. This is what drove me towards the field of Environmental Engineering.
I am a hardworking, outgoing and self-motivated high school student. The program I have applied for is business accounting. I am convinced that I possess a unique blend of skills that will enable me to successfully complete this program. To begin with, I am quite comfortable working with figures. I regard my love for figures to have come by default. From a very young age my dad who happens to be a mathematics professor saw to it that I developed the necessary analytical capabilities through regular coaching. Hence I have over time developed great passion for analytical subjects including business accounting. I regard my being comfortable with figures an essential skill that will help me succeed in this particular program. Further, I have also been an avid reader of financial magazines and journals. In that regard, I possess significant knowledge on the workings of business. This I will combine with my liking for figures to enhance my chances of success in this particular program.
• Provide at least two examples or problem situations in which statistics was used or could be used.
For this week's lecture, Dr. David Laude focused on the reasons why people often hate statistics by giving his input on how it allows for the better understanding and evaluation of data collected. By illustrating different ways in which people use statistics to reach a conclusion, the professor was able to highlight the way these influence decision-making scenarios. To establish his point, the professor purposely explained statistics with the use of scenarios that would make students attentive on the subject. like the ways in which statistics measures a student’s capabilities to perform in the university.
The major of statistics is used in everyday life whether it be through experiments or analyzing data for a company. With the use of statistics, it is not only important to know how to analyze data, but also how to communicate the information to others. Using the communication skills can help companies sell more products and save money on advertisements. With the advancement of digital and/or electronic communication technology, the field of statistics is growing rapidly and their findings are becoming more accurate. Post graduation I intend on working for a company doing business analytics for the products they sale. In this final paper, I will explain to you how the advancement of digital communication
I believe that in the verge of realization, in everyday life’s undertaking we are facing and practicing statistics. I was being into a serious dedication of understanding the underlined concepts of statistics and the necessary usefulness in conducting a survey. In fact, throughout the course, I did learn many factors that became useful in contacting a survey research. according to Walker et al. (2011). However, my success could not be possible without the appreciation and support of my teachers, discussion groups, and class presentations.in addition, the misguided notion of statistics being a tough course was proven otherwise since I realized that statistics make a lot of sense not only in survey research in personal life, especially in budgeting and planning for individual routines. Furthermore, the following paper provides a vivid explanation of my reflection of the survey class, with more attention paid to the concepts of statistics.
I wouldn’t be doing philosophy if I didn’t think it progressed, and that we know now more than we did a century ago. For that reason, I don’t view its history as a story of the clash of defensible but irreconcilable views, from which the most we can expect is a sympathetic understanding of how things looked to the participants. As depicted on my resume, you will note that I have both executive level education and experience.
feel accounting is an interesting subject and led me to research various schools and their accounting
I aim to contribute to society and better myself using all my knowledge and experience that I have gained my whole life. Rutgers displays itself as the esteemed college I have been yearning to attend, and the plethora of visits I have conducted strengthen my idea of the school. I would like to take advantage of all the job opportunities that can sharpen my career readiness skills. Specifically, Rutgers Business School program is my target; obtaining my CPA and becoming a respected graduate is my goal. Many aspects of the school entice me; for instance, I’m really excited to become a part of the IRS Adrian Project, which I believe is a program particularly interesting and relevant to me. As an Accounting major, being able to see the consequences of even slight errors will provide experience and allow me to excel in an accounting-related job in the future. Additionally, Business Law II is a course that sounds essential, given that a sense of personal finance and knowing how the intricacies of a subject that essentially runs the world is vital for any profession. Even more so, it can help me get my JD in the future.
I have always admired to be a businessperson from my childhood. I used to tell people that I would become a business tycoon when I grow up. I lived with that dream and still trying my level best to get close to that desire. However, the type of businessperson I wanted to be, shaped into a social entrepreneur throughout these days. I am a very inquisitive and adventurous person who loves to enjoy travelling and exploring new things. This enthusiasm for freedom and independence motivates me to set up a venture of my own. The social entrepreneurship is the perfect fit that matches my interests and goals. The social entrepreneurship has a huge impact on the social, environmental and economical circumstances of any country.
I believe I am a person with diverse tastes and experiences, whether in life or at work, that make me a distinctive person. I am a Computer Science Student with a great talent in Cricket. I am an enthusiastic traveler with a profound interest in meteorology. In a period of almost six professional years I feel I am lucky to put on and succeed in different roles. I worked as Business Analyst and COBOL Developer where my primary role was to design and build the application; as Quality Assurance Analyst where I have to break and check the application to find the faults in the design; and as Application Support Analyst to trouble shoot and solve the customer issues.
Growing up in a business-oriented household consisted of being exposed to, and witnessing talks of business management — be it at in-house parties or out at dinners — from a very young age, which I believe has impacted my upbringing and passions to a great extent. Along with a substantial inclination towards Business Management, I also had a keen interest in the field of Accounting, which I became more aware of at the age of around nine. Most kids resent going to the bank with their fathers, however, for me, it was always a source of amusement and gratification. As a child, I would witness my father give cash to the banker and/or vice versa, which would leave me to ponder about what exactly was going on. This eagerness to have the know-how of money and what goes behind it made me discover my true passion.
