Within society, there are many occupations to explore and chose. The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) results showed that my personal career strengths fall under the area of teaching and counseling. Currently, as a school counselor for a high school in Duncanville, Texas, a suburb outside of Dallas, I find the results of the assessment to be very accurate. Even the most widely accepted measure, the Strong Vocational Interest Blank, received disapproval regarding gender bias and lack of theory. Though gender bias seems to be a large issue regarding career and vocational measures, a main challenge in interest testing is determining if career preferences are constant (Kaplan & Saccuzzo, 2017). One of the few things you can find in OOH is getting fist class information about a career such as how it work, what are the requirements for that career, and their income. It helps you to get a better understanding of each career so you can decide what career works best for you. Another thing found in OOH is featured occupations, it shows you a few careers that have been projected to grow in the years. The OOH also provides information about time use in america, unemployment, and employment.

The Myers and Briggs Analysis is a series of questions that when answered are examined and grouped together in order to determine the personalities of those taking this test. This particular test can result in sixteen different outcomes or types of personalities, which is determined by four different categories that judge if you are introverted or extroverted, use your senses or your intuition, your choice to think or use your feelings, and finally if you are judgmental or perceptive. These series of questions are designed to judge our personalities and help us to determine which career pathways we will be most suited for based on our personality traits and abilities to work well with others, which is important

In order for me to complete this career assessment paper, I initially took an Interest Inventory survey. Upon completing this process, it revealed that my personality profile score was (I, C, A). These three letters represented my strengths and interests in determining which career field would best suit me.

It seems logical that people go to college to earn a degree in the field of study they want to pursue. However, in some rare occasions this not always True. Dr. Cameron Gilbert is a case of a person who has done just that. Dr. Gilbert is currently an owner of a budding neuropsychiatric hospital system. Strangely, Dr. Gilbert’s expertise, according to his degree is in geriatric neuropsychology, yet his career has encompassed mainly management and business instead of the clinical work that his degree entails. I sat down with Dr. Gilbert to try and understand how this doctor of mental diseases found his way into the business world.

As learned in Occupations, completing a developmental profile can be beneficial in both, learning about a client and identifying their needs. Through identifying a client’s needs, occupational therapists can create appropriate interventions to assist the client with those needs. These interventions can be beneficial in improving a clients well-being and life balance.

A person’s personality is his or her essence. It is what guides decisions, emotions, and even thoughts. Some may wonder if it is possible to explore every nuance of such a complex part of a being, but there are ways to determine what type of personality a person has, and then branch off into a more detailed examination of that person specifically. Combined with other factors, such as personality disorders and the environment that someone has grown up in, the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, or MBTI, test (Enrichment 1) and analysis can determine an accurate portrayal of a personality. Created in 1943 by Katherine Briggs and Isabel Briggs Myers, it is a system made up of four basic functions and sub functions that combine to make a personality type. The mother and daughter team constructed it off of Jung’s theories (History 2). Based on this system, one of the most common personality types in the US population is called an ESTJ, and one of the least common personality types is called an INFJ. There are many differences and similarities between these two types. An ESTJ personality, overall, is practical, fact-based, and outgoing, whereas an INFJ personality is more private and makes decisions based on feelings; however, both are organized people who make good leaders and are capable of great success in roles that involve helping others.

On the Bureau of Labor Statistics website you can get the general idea of what a web developer does, what the work environment is, the job outlook, and the pay rate. On the What They Do page is a list of the duties of a web developer. Some of these duties include meeting with clients or management to discuss the needs of the website and the expected needs of the website’s audience and plan how it should look, working with other team members to determine what information the site will contain, and working with graphics and other designers to determine the website’s layout. All of the duties above require communication skills either by phone, email or in person.

The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) “is an introspective self-report questionnaire designed to indicate psychological preferences in how people perceive the world and make decisions” (13). It is one of several personality assessments that is popular among modern mental health experts throughout the world. Currently, it is estimated that the MBTI is “taken by more than two million people per year and is translated into 16 languages (10). “The purpose of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator personality inventory is to make the theory of psychological types described by C. G. Jung understandable and useful in people 's lives” (4).
