Campus involvement can be anything from dancing the night away to crossing my legs in a specific direction. Involvement at Oklahoma State University is very important when trying to leave a legacy or even meet new friends. I have attended many events; however, there were two that stayed close to my heart. Victoria Secret Zumba was something that I loved so much. I am a regular Zumba attender and this added one of my favorite stores with my favorite workout. The next involvement activity that I participated in was the business etiquette dinner. I am so pleased that I signed up for this event; I received much more than an amazing meal. When the Pink Zumba advertisement came across my Instagram, I jumped out of my seat. This event added two things that I love, Zumba and the store Pink. This activity was extremely fun and worth going to. At this event, they handed out anything I could think of from headbands to hoodies. Almost every person that attended this event received a free gift that had a value of around …show more content…
This event was well worth the five dollars and even more. An outstanding four course meal was catered by Ranchers Club. Throughout this lovely dinner, Rachel Wagner, a professional on etiquette taught the proper way to eat at a fancy meal or interview meal. This event was very beneficial because I had no idea all of the rules I break when I eat. I loved learning how to sip my soup, and cut my steak. The only down side to this event was the dessert. The stellar meal ended with a cheese plate. I know that this is not uncommon at a fancy dinner; however, I have a huge sweet tooth and my mouth was watering for some delicious cake. This event taught me so much about etiquette and how to present myself at the dinner table. I would invite everyone I could think of to this event next year. Not only is the food amazing, I received much needed information about how to act and use utensils at the dinner
If you are looking for a way to get involved on campus while making a great impact on students and campus life, this opportunity will benefit you.

As a transfer student from Pasadena City College, I struggled to adapt to the fast paced quarter system in my first year at Cal Poly Pomona. Lacking of confidence in my communication skill, I did not try to get involved on campus because of my sense of insecurity and the fear of getting embarrassed. However, after spending two quarters and having a comprehensive knowledge of the available resources on campus, I decided that it was the time for me to push my boundaries and to challenge myself to get involved on campus as much as I could to train my soft skills.
Oklahoma State University has a rich heritage steeped in tradition. How do you plan to become a part of that heritage once you have become an alum? What new traditions would you like to see in Alpha Zeta?
The Sally McDonald Barksdale Honors College has instilled in me the importance of participating as an active citizen of my community and university. I love that Ole Miss has the Big Event. I think that it is so incredibly neat that we can come together as a University to help the Oxford community. I have also enjoyed serving Ole Miss with my position as a Research Assistant in the Communication Sciences and Disorders department.
The organization that has been the most impactful since I started college has been Sigma Kappa sorority. Sigma Kappa was the first organization I joined when I got to K-State and in many ways I think it is the reason that I became even more involved throughout the last two years. Being a member of Sigma Kappa first exposed me to other opportunities on campus. One instance in particular is there is a member that is very involved in the Student Governing Association. She often would stand up during chapter dinner and describe different ways women in our sorority could get involved. Her passion for the SGA inspired me to make my own run for a senate seat. Another activity Sigma Kappa exposed me to was the Homecoming Committee, after participating

As I come to The University of Alabama, I want to find many ways to get involved with not only the school community, but the Tuscaloosa community as well. Although, I am very saddened that Get On Board Day was cancelled I know that I can look at the source at the many organizations and ways to get involved on and off campus. When I am looking for an organization or service I am interested in working with children, sports, and community service. I am also interested in broadening my involvement by looking into other aspects of organizations and services.
In general, attending extracurricular activities is great at expanding students’ knowledge that they cannot gain from a classroom, such as issues regarding a person’s culture and how they can handle those cultural issues. Attending these extracurricular activities helps build a community with people that are passionate about the same things as you or are going through similar situations and do not know how to approach these issues. After attending this event, I am excited to attend more extracurricular activities on campus, instead of going home after
The last twelve years of my life, I have spent the last four or five years of my life focusing on improving my academics and learning how to become a better person. The one consistent drive that pushed me to succeed academically is my dream of attending Kennesaw State University (KSU). Unfortunately, in today’s economic climate I have to be realistic and factor in out-of-state fees and the impact these fees would have on my family’s financial health. That was until I discovered this amazing waiver that gives out of state students an opportunity to pay tuition as a Resident rather than a Nonresident. The KSU OutKSU Out-Of-State Waiver will make my dream of attending KSU a reality. However, I’m sure many other students have come across this waiver and learned it is not handed out to every applicant; it is limited and should be awarded to the most

The three colleges I have chosen to apply to are Hinds Community College Vicksburg-Warren Campus, Alcorn State University, and Copiah-Lincoln Community College. The reasons I have selected these three colleges are based on location, financially feasible and great reviews I have heard from others about their own personal experience or had a family member who attended one of these colleges. I have a handicap Uncle that I help take care of so I need to be close home in order to help my mother. I have talked with mother and a few friends about my interest and goals and I have their complete support in my endeavors. Also I received great reviews on these colleges from other people and this is how I chose the three schools that will meet my
Angelo State University (ASU) ensures a student has a safe and prestigious learning environment. Academics are important in a college setting, however in, order to ensure students remain able to complete their studies, campuses must allow for activities which give students the opportunity to clear their heads and prevent extreme amounts of stress. Not only will these activities aid in the ways mentioned before, but they will allow students to be able to interact with diverse peers in a non-classroom environment. Luckily, Angelo State University has various extracurricular activities that can assist in allowing students to branch out.

Student personnel point of view encompasses the student as a whole. The concept of education is broadened o the student’’s well rounded development- physically, socially, emotionally and spiritually as well as intellectually. (sppv) Student affairs not only emphasize on academic excellence but to shape each individual as a unique human by providing a holistic learning and living environment. Student Affairs professionals play a pivotal role in the development of the students. By applying different theories in student development, they can foster student learning to help them shape their identity. Student affairs staff members must view themselves as educators to refute the belief that learning is held only in the classroom. (contested issue, 29). Learning does not only occur in the classroom but through out of class activities as well. Student affairs staff should talk about student learning and development to enhance the multiplicity of growth areas for students in higher education. These learning and development experiences do not simply happen to students. They happen with their active involvement. There are numerous branches of fields in student affairs that attend to the unique needs of each individual. Residence Director trains Residence assistance to cater to the needs of first year students who are new to the college environment. RA plays a major role of introducing the life of college through building relationships and community to help them develop their sense of
