SUBCULTURE MEANS:-
These are those groups of people who have a different set of behavior with different cultures. Different subculture people have their own belief and interest. Subcultures may be distinctive due to the age of its members, class and gender. Subculture sometimes can be negative due to dominant nature and societal standard. Cultural appropriation result into the death and evolution of the subculture as members change into new styles. Members of subcultures have distinctive and symbolic use of style. It is basically sociology and cultural studies. A common example of the subculture is Punk and Mods subculture.

The looks were copied from French actors in the films. They do not follow the gender norms and they put eyeliner, sometimes lipstick and eye shadow. Men’s also used to wear narrow trousers and pointed shoes. Men use scooters for two main reasons that they were interested in Italian look and second were that so their clothes do not get dirty. Male had smooth and sophisticated look. Cashmere jumpers were also famous. Ready Steady Go! Television programmed helped to spread the awareness on the mod fashion. Levi’s jeans and worker boots were most popular at that time.

Mod Music
The early mods listened to smoother modern jazz. Due to jazz music of Black America mods distinguish them from the mainstream. They were attracted by the cool look and elegant clothing by jazz musicians and their different styles. They always preferred to hear British bands that played Rhythm and Blues. Mods also preferred “The rolling stones and The Small Faces”. They were mainly in the Jazz and R and B.
In mid after the cold war black serviceman introduces the blues and the soul music also. The original mods were always gathered at the night in club to show their dance moves and hear latest records. Some of the artists of Jamaican Ska are Derrick Morgan and Prince Buster. In late 1960s dancehall music was mostly popular. It was also cheaper than the cars as it would be easier to get scooters for working class. Mods also rid scooters together so it was described as “menacing symbol of group solidarity”. Mods usually would wear Levi’s, trousers and shirt while ridding scooters. They also used to wear suits and had short hair. It was also seen as fashion accessory and they also added colors and extra mirrors to customize it. Some mods wanted to customize a lot to their scooters so that’s why they added 30 mirrors to scooters so that their scooters look different from others but it forms cool image for them. Mods also sometimes put their names on the windscreen. But Hard Mods rid scooters only due to the practical reasons. Hard Mods reshaped and made it simple and slimmer their scooter.
