Suicidal Thoughts in a Young Mind: A Permanent Solution for a Temporary Problem
Those who choose suicide, choose to give up on life. Many who make the decision to end his or her life is teenagers. It is no secret that the average teenager deals with a lot of emotions and difficulties. Certain situations come about that adults know will pass but to someone still in their adolescents years find to big too handle. The end of the world comes around frequently for someone between the ages of pre-teens and adulthood and sadly for them death is the only answer to the problems they are facing.

No one sees the red flags or the subtle ways that someone who is suicidal cries out for help. Many adults look at the problems teenagers face as minor situations that will pass over time. Not realizing that to their child not making a team or dealing with any kind of loss is hard to except for someone whose mind is still developing

The consumer report using crack and herion today. The consumer has flat affect, guarded, vague and lack motiviation to improve on her current situation. For those of us that are parents, we know that raising a child to adulthood is not an easy task but one which we do lovingly (hopefully) and responsibly. I’ll go out on a limb to say here that everyone agrees that the teenage years are the most challenging. The general consensus is that teenagers are unruly, aggressive, careless, spoiled and dependent on technology. On the other hand, I believe along with a small group of other parents that teenagers are also brilliant and in the process of becoming and reaching their potential and that they deserve much more respect than what they are given.
In the novel Thirteen Reason Why, written by Jay Asher, a highschool boy named Clay Jensen receives a box full of tapes recorded by Hannah Baker, a girl who committed suicide just two weeks earlier. The book itself focuses on many important issues experienced by high schoolers today including bullying and suicide. Jay Asher makes sure to teach the reader important lessons that can be applied to things that we do every day. The most meaningful lesson that Jay Asher is trying to teach the reader is that although our actions may seem small and insignificant, they have much bigger consequences than we would imagine.
These adolescents may feel or believe that they have disappointed their parents and family and see suicide as their only choice. Also, adolescents may think that suicide is better than the life they live.
The main character of the novel Thirteen Reasons Why, Hannah Baker, committed suicide because of thirteen “reasons” that she divulged in a set of audiotapes. These reasons were people who either bullied her in some cruel way, or just ignored the fact that Hannah needed help. Whatever their crime against Hannah, each of these people affected her identity. Most of them negatively, but not all.

In a world for teenagers, there is high school. Attending these high schools are millions of students who are all so diverse. In the U.S. today, the adolescents are more isolated from adults and children outside of their age group than ever before. Age segregation has created a youth that is different from adult culture in its values and attitudes. Gaines conducted research to find out why these suicides were happening, and what led 4 teens to take their lives together. She found out that there is not just one sole reason to why they would take their lives; it was much more complicated then that.
