A burning car raises questions and has Gardai searching for a kindapper Danny Dempsey forcing him into hiding. Noel and Teeth get increasingly anxious and confront Frank about Danny leading Frank to confront Corrina about Danny. Noel and teeth head to the boxing hall in search of him and are met with Ben and then leave. A broken Annette eats with Dessie and are annoyingly interrupted by Frank noticeably agitating Dessie forcing him to work, where his workers notice his manner is somewhat off. At the car dealers Frank’s stock is being checked which angers him so he goes to the beach where he reflects. Corrina goes to the boxing hall where she rings Danny to no avail. Terrified and confused, the two greasers hurry to find Dally, the one person the think can help them. Dally sends them with a gun and some money to an abandoned church near Windrixvill, where they hide out for a week, they cut their hair to disguise their appearances. After a week, dally comes to check on them, and says that since bob died, the Socs and the greasers have become worse then ever, a giant rumble is to be held the next night to settle the matters once and for all. Cherry feels responsible for the whole problem, acted as a spy for the greasers. Johnny surprises Dally by declaring his intention to go back to Tulsa and turn himself in. Dally drives them back, but as they leave, the notice that the church has caught on fire and it had a large group of schoolchildren inside. Ponyboy and Johnny rush inside the church to save the children. Just when they get the last child through the window, the roof caves in and Ponyboy blacks out again.
Roy stayed at his desk, and Mr. Ryan, his teacher went with him to the bus. Dana got stopped by Mr. Ryan, and got stopped. Roy tried again to apologize to Dana. He got stopped and got hurt by Dana, until Roy convinces her to stop because Roy convinced her of a secret: cigarettes in Mother Paula's lot.
Johnny shocks Dally by telling him he wants to go back home and confess to his crime. Dally tries to change Johnny’s mind, convincing him not to because if he does he will be going to prison and dally doesn’t want Johnny to see him in prison. Johnny is points out that his own parents would not care what ever happens to him, but Ponyboy’s brothers care about him and don’t want to see him like that. Swearing under his breath, Dally begins to drive Johnny and Ponyboy home. As they drive past the church where Ponyboy and Johnny had been staying, they see that it is on fire. The characters in the movie include siblings Mary and Jimmy Lane, and Mary 's boyfriend Bill; they are the "kids" in the film, or the victims. The older adults include Mae, the apartment owner, Jack, Ralph, and Blanche; they are the antagonists. The story truly begins when Jimmy and Bill first visit Mae 's apartment to attend their first reefer party. The party quickly runs out of marijuana cigarettes, and Mae sends Jack for more. However, because Jack 's car is in the shop, Jimmy obliviously agrees to drive him to the pick-up spot, because he has borrowed his sister 's car for the day. Jimmy smokes another reefer cigarette and waits outside until Jack is done. On the way back to Mae 's apartment, Jimmy begins driving wildly, refusing to heed Jack 's shouted warnings. They barrel through a stop light, Jimmy supposedly high out of his mind, and hit a man crossing the street. Jimmy does not

By now, they are somnolent and their footsteps sluggish as they staggered towards the pickup, their friend Sheriff Johnstone drove over, and motioned for them to join him. They wearily slide into the back seat, when Estelle Louise closed the door the Sheriff says, “The driver of the semi was not seriously injured. He was out of the truck when the fire started. He said he lost control of his rig when it took off like a wild stallion. Estelle Louise, he takes full responsibility, for the accident and promises to set everything
Prior to Dally’s instructions, they caught a train to a ghostly town called Windrixville to hide in an abandoned creaky church. Lonely and worried, the boys patiently waited for Dally to save them when the coast is clear in their hometown on the east side of Oklahoma. A few days later, Pony and Johnny went to dairy queen in Dally’s red stolen corvair later to find their hideout in blazing morone flames. Rashly, Pony and Johnny run into the fiery chapel to rescue a cluster of tots from burning to oblivion. In the process, Dally runs to help but is soon smashed by the burning roof of the church. While the kids were not hurt, Dally and Johnny get badly injured with Dally's arm broken and Johnny covered in 3rd degree burn and a busted back. Pony is reunited to his older brothers soda and Darry as well as the rest of the gang. Pony and two-bit visit dallas and johnny soon to find out that there is gonna be a rumble and they won't have Dally to help them bruise the socs. Sadly Johnny passes out cold befor pony and two-bit even left. On their way home, they met up with cherry and chatted for awhile then went home and got ready for the rumble that night with the

Childhood friends Lewis Thomas and Venna Walker have not seen each other in several months since parting ways for university. Local firemen showed up to the scene to late. Their duties were already being carried out by three hoodlums. Dallas Winston, Johnny Cade, and Ponyboy Curtis saved the lives of five children inside the burning church. The fire’s cause is unknown. All children were left unharmed but, the hero’s had all suffered numerous injuries. Ponyboy Curtis was released after a few hours and Dallas Winston had a very badly burned arm. Johnny Cade is in very bad condition. If he does survive he will be paralyzed.
Later on, dally arrives to see the boys in windrixville and they return from dairy queen to discover the abandoned church is on fire with children inside. The first thing ponyboy and johnny do is immediately enter the burning church and began throwing ids out windows to safety. Ponyboy gets out fine but he sees that johnny didn't make it out yet so he tried to run back into the
Ponyboy, Johnny, and Dally all run into the burning church to save the kids trapped inside. They make it out of the church, but Johnny is severely injured. Soon after, they are all rushed to the hospital and everything sets in for Ponyboy. He realizes that Johnny may not make it and is informed that the Greasers are going to have a rumble unlike one they have ever had before. Randy a member of the Socs refuses to fight, however, the fight continues on. On the final night of the novel the Greasers and the Socs are fighting it out to defend their friends and their name. The Greasers win the rumble which is a nice victory though everyone knows that in the morning everything will return as it once was. Ponyboy and Dally make their way to the hospital to tell Johnny that they won. Soon after revealing the news Johnny dies, which leads Dally to basically go out and get himself killed. Dally is unable to live without Johnny so he acted out until a police officer was forced to shoot and kill him. Everyone is distraught from the tragic events that took place over the duration of two weeks, but somehow they make their way back into their normal routine of Greasers being Greasers and Socs being
Dally eventually comes and visits the boys, who are both convinced that they should return home. Dally submits and takes both of the boys out to eat; when they return to the abandoned church, they find it has been set on fire and a bunch of school children are trapped inside. Ponyboy, Johnny, and Dallas all rush in to save the kids, resulting in Ponyboy being knocked out. When he wakes up, Ponyboy is in the hospital along with Dally and Johnny. He finds out that everybody is all right, except for Johnny, who is in critical condition. After he and Dally are released from the hospital and win victory in a rumble with the Socials, they return to the hospital to dolefully find that Johnny has passed away. Dally darts out of the hospital in a fit of rage and is later shot by the police after being caught robbing a grocery store. Ponyboy is devastated, and soon begins to lose his mind until his English teacher assigns the class to write an essay about something meaningful. Ponyboy decides to write about the events that recently happened to him in hopes that it could make a
When they got to the scene, they saw a huge fire engulfing most of the place and children still left inside. Ponyboy and Johnny quickly go to help them, but in the process, Dally gets his right arm badly burned, and Johnny receives third-degree burns. They were all immediately sent to the hospital, and soon, they become popular all over the magazines and newspapers, being recognized as heroes. The next morning after Ponyboy came home, Two-Bit visits him so that they check on Johnny and Dally to see how they’re doing. Before they leave, Ponyboy meets Randy, who talks to him about Bob being a good person and actually thanks Ponyboy, and he knew that things were rough all over even for Socs, making their similarities increase.
