She did not want to return home to her smelly building, but much of the day remained. She walked along Seventh Avenue, one of her favorite places to walk, and began to think of John. She paused outside a window, using her reflection to try to rid herself of the shine on her nose. When a few young men walked by, they were talking about her. Before walking away, laughing, one man said, "There’s a girl for you ‘Fats.’" Fats replied "Man, you know I don’t haul no coal."[1]

I think Willie will possibly become security of OMLC because he has always had a protective side to himself. When Lacey was beating Angel, his whore, during the night Willie made sure to put a stop to it and put Lacey in hospital. “Stop it! Willie screams at him, but Lacey is cocking his arm for another shot. He pulls Angel’s head up by the hair with his other hand and aims a fist for her nose. Without thinking Willies swings the cane, intercepting Lacey’s swing.” Also the time the Jo Boys who is a gang were breaking into OMLC, Willie stayed at the school all night to see if they would break in and as they did the Jo Boys caught OMLC on fire.
