Summer in an Hour The text and the movie are different but also have similarities. First thing i noticed was that text didn't tell us much about the sun lamps but in the video they showed us what it would be like to have to sit under one. In the text it said that everyone hated margot but in the movie she had a couple friends. In both the movie and the text the story was told on Venus. Although the movie and the text were based on the same thing they still had similarities and
Is the novel making the same point about the value or ideas as the film? If so, how? If it is making a different point about the value or idea, how is it different?
The plot had some major differences as well as its similarities, for example, when Lydia was frightened by the lions and when Peter and Wendy "killed" their parents. The film did follow the same storyline and had the same plot but also had some slight differences here and there, for example ... In the story, George and Lydia found a wallet and a scarf in the nursery, but they found a purse in the movie. The children didn't land in the "space ship" and they didn't even mention the plastic carnival. There were no whining or jumping on couch's as referenced in the story when the kids heard the news about locking up the nursery, they just got mad and ran towards the nursery. When the Parents were supposedly chased by lions, Lydia wasn't crying, the story made it seem more dramatic than it appeared in the video. As well as Peter called George “George” in the movie instead of Father or Dad, this was not mentioned in the story, but it did show how he didn’t really think of George as his Dad. There were also a little foreshadowing at the end when George told Lydia to RIP “Rest in peace” then shortly after they
There are many similarities and some minor differences between the movie, directed by Claude Chabrol, and the short story it is based off of, written by Guy de Maupassant. The plot, setting, and characters are all highly similar in both the story and the film. In both, the plot follows the same scheme, it is set in Paris in the 1880’s, and all of the main characters are the same. The major difference that stood out to me is how these aspects are displayed at the beginning of the narrative.
The plot and the setting of book and movie are very similar. There was a lot of thins borrowed from the book, but there was a lot changed as well. The movie followed the plot of book very closely and portrayed the setting of the book very well. A lot of the dialogue was borrowed and spoken directly as it was in the book.
There is a great difference between driving in the winter as opposed to driving in the summer. Although the two driving conditions have their own advantages and disadvantages, I would argue that driving in the summer time is better.
How can you compare water and ice in a natural form? Thirteen inches of snowfall is equal to one-inch rainfall only. (NOAA National Severe Storms Laboratory, 2010) Michigan does have a lot of snow days during winter, but summer in Michigan experiences completely different experience. An average temperature difference in Michigan's winter and summer is about 25-degree Fahrenheit. (US Climate Data, 2016) Tourists do visit more Michigan in summer because of the scenic beauty of the great lakes of Michigan however, people who like winter sports visit Michigan in winter because Michigan does have more facilities, such as 42 ski areas more than any other state in the USA. (Michigan Snowsports Industries Association.,
The two short stories that we read in this unit, “All Summer in a Day” by Ray Bradbury ,and “Examination Day” by Henry Slesar, both have meanings of their societies. In “All Summer In A Day” the main character, Margot lives on Venus and gets bullied by the other kids on Venus because she has seen the sun back on Earth while they only saw it when they were babies. On the only day where the sun goes out Margot gets shoved into a closet while the kids that bullied her get to go enjoy the sun for the first time in 7 years. In “Examination Day” the main character, Dickie, gets killed because his intelligence quotient is above the amount the Government wants it to be. Both of their societies are highly sophisticated but, they are very different
Now, I will explain the differnces between the original script and the movie. One pretty noticible difference is that the setting is a lot different. In the script, the setting is on the balconey, and is definetly a way less modern version, almost like a cliche love scene. In the 1997 movie, the setting isn’t even on a balcony, it is on a back porch with a pool. This takes away the whole “cliche love scene” in the original script, and as i feel takes awaay some of the meaning of the original. It also is a lot more
The story and the film differ when the story did not state what happened after they let Margot out of the closet when the film gave a little more insight on what Margot did and how she felt when they let her out of the closet. The story did not show that the children collected the flowers as something to remember the sun by when the film did.\
The actor choices from the film compare to what the book envisioned, but also contrast. The character of Daisy is not similar in the film to what the book
In “Ona The Cloud Rider" and “All Summer In A Day have different settings in the story. In Ona, The Cloud Rider kids in Ona’s class would want to listen to her unlike in All Summer In A Day where Margot’s classmates don’t want to hear when she talks about the sun and they, later on, lock her in a closet. Ona likes to imagine about clouds and a few classmates in her class are interested when she talks about it. Another difference of the settings is in "Ona The Cloud Rider" Ona The Cloud Rider" Ona The Cloud Rider", Ona has someone to ride the clouds with. But nobody believes Margot in All Summer In A Day when she talks about the sun or when she says that scientists believe that the sun will come today in Venus. In All Summer In A Day nobody
Margot in the short story and movie were both very different. Margot in the short story was very shy and didn’t hardly talk. Margot in the movie was talkative and talked back. She acted like any other bratty child. Margot had a variety when it came to her personality. It was like she was trying to be

These similarities and differences are either the exact same (similarities) or they are exactly different (differences)
In the movie 500 days of summer we see the communication concept of personal relationships between various characters that are in Tom’s life (main character). Personal relationships are voluntary commitment between individuals. Tom works at a greeting card company as a card writer. He has a few friends and is seemingly happy with his life. One day at a meeting, Tom's boss introduces the board room to Summer, his new assistant. He is immediately attracted to Summer although Tom is a little shy he doesn’t say much to her. Keeping himself in a role limited interaction. But as the movie moves along we see the development and destruction of Tom and Summer relationship. Through stages of friendship to lovers and then strangers.
For the most part, Webb was successful in translating the emotion of the script to the motion picture. Each page of the script was about this hopeless romantic named Tom and his recollection of where things went wrong with his girlfriend, Summer. Tom was retelling the story of how he met Summer in bits and pieces. These pieces were essentially flashbacks. But in a way, they were transitions that worked in really well into the film by the use of the amount of days he was with Summer. So instead of having flashbacks all over the film with poor transitional cues, the screenplay was written with the number of days that tied in with the event for that certain day. This helped keep the emotions of the film intact because of the transitional cue cards. Each day was shown on the screen with a picture of a tree that changes with the mood of scene and Tom. Which is supposed be comparable with the changes of the seasons which is now the feelings of Tom. Another thing that was omitted from the film that was in the screenplay was the use of animation for certain parts of the script. In the script,
