Summers Are Warm Than Winters In The Northern Hemisphere

The equator and poles relate to the unequal heating of the Earth because of the amount of sunlight they obtain. The equator gets more direct rays of sunlight, making it warm. However, the poles barely get any direct rays of sunlight resulting in making those areas colder. There are areas that are warmer and colder, thus acquiring the Earth to have unequal heating.

The Southern Hemisphere is warmer in December, January, and February because it receives more solar energy than does the Northern Hemisphere. During, June, July, and August the opposite is true; the Northern Hemisphere receives more solar energy and is warmer. This is due to the spherical shape of the planet, due to which sun is nearly overhead at equator than at high latitude therefore warmest. Thus, temperature varies with latitude from the warm Equator to the cold poles.

When it is the winter, the axis that Ohio is on is facing away form the sun while the Southern Hemisphere is facing towards the sun. Introduction: The greenhouse effect is a natural warming process of the earth. The theory is that when the sun's energy reaches the earth, some of it is reflected back to space while the rest is absorbed. The absorbed energy warms the earth's surface which then emits heat energy back toward space in the form of long wave radiation. This outgoing radiation is partially trapped by greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide, methane and water vapor which then radiate the energy in all directions, warming the earth's surface and atmosphere.
