Sunburn is the painful inflammation, redness and blistering of the skin caused by over exposure to the sun.
The burns are a result of Ultra Violet (UV) light from the sun, exposed to the skin. It can happen within thirty minutes exposure to the sun.
Sometimes when the sunburn is severe, blood vessels and skin cells can become damaged. It is good to avoid repeated sunburns, because they can increase the risk of developing skin cancer, and signs of premature aging such as wrinkles. Green tea home remedy for sunburn
A compress made from green tea can reduce sunburns and relieve the sting. Boil one cup of water and pour it over one teaspoon of green tea.
Cover up the cup and let it soak for about 8 minutes. Pour the content in a bigger bowl and add another cup of bottled water to it. Wet a piece of fabric with the tea and place on the affected area for about 8 minutes, and repeat it three times daily.
Tea and cider vinegar bath
You can add these important ingredients to a bath to help treat sunburn. Pour a cup of black tea for anti-irritation and swelling tannins, and 1 cup of apple cider vinegar (a calming sunburn remedy), into your bath water.
Immerse yourself in it for about 15 minutes. You can also add 7 drops of lavender essential oil in the water.
