Career Research The three occupations I am doing research on are: a General Pediatrician, Singer, and Surgeon. They are, in my opinion, very difficult but rewarding fields to go into. A general Pediatrician is a doctor for children from ages Newborn-18. Pediatricians care for children in all aspects of their health. They determine what needs to be done in order to keep their patients happy and healthy. “Becoming a Pediatrician will usually require its future employee to graduate from a graduate school, such as a medical school. Other jobs in Pediatrics may require a Ph.D., M.D, or J.D” (O*Net Online). Most future employees need to have attended at graduate school prior to becoming a Surgeon. Also, some employers require a Ph.D., M.D, and J.D from employees. Medical school and classes related to anatomy will prepare you for an intense career as a Surgeon. Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Pharmacists, Hospitalists, and Nurse Midwives are all jobs that are related to a Surgeon. This field is projected to increase by 14% from 2014 to 2024. A surgeon earns $90.00 an hour which is a yearly pay of about $187,200 or more” (O*Net Online). Their working conditions are very bloody and intense, so employees need to be ready to experience all of that and keep their lunch in their stomachs. These three jobs are all very difficult and can be overwhelming at times, but they are all very rewarding in their own way. However, I would want to be a Pediatrician over the other two jobs. I have always loved helping other people, especially children. So to do that for a living would be a dream come true for me.
