Kids shouldn't have homework. Kids have stuff to do like sports, spending time with family and working. Instead of doing 6 or so hours of homework every night. “homework came in behind not only socializing but also exercise or sports as well as working for pay.” (Gazette,par. 24) I agree because some students have to rush to get their homework done at lunch or before school because they either have sports or have to go to work everyday.

Is it really worth students’ time? Homework takes away from family time, encourages cheating and takes away time for relaxation. The banning of homework will allow more time with family, not encourage cheating and allow time for relaxation. Teachers should give assignments during class. Homework takes too much time away from students spending time with their families. The banning of homework can get rid of cheating because students don’t feel like they have to cheat to get a good grade on it. The banning of homework would help a student relax after school. To conclude, if teachers got rid of homework there would be several benefits.

Homework is an overgrown jungle that needs to be cut down to a manageable size.(Metaphor) So I recommend that we should have little to no homework because of students having to stay up late doing it, it interferes with after school activities, family time, some students do not have the time to do it and lets face it, it is just more work the teachers have to grade, so it is a lose-lose situation. All schools in the United States should make homework optional. In today's education system every student is required to go to school from ages starting from 5 up until he/she is 17 or 18. We teach all of our students that there is no way around hard work and if you want to make a living you must do what your told, and that is going to school, getting good grades, and potentially going to college and finding a job. This is unquestionable, whether a student agrees with it or not this will never change, but this is not the disputed point.

Many kids around the world think that schools should ban homework. I think that homework is not benifical for students who don’t need it. Why? In the debate homework good or bad I agree with the side of no homework. First, when homework is more time consuming then it maximises stress. Therefore, when kids have too much stress in their lives they can not want to complete work and act out. Clearly, it will cause stress if there continues to be homework.
