Another example If the child has diabetes the teacher and dinner ladies needs to monitor what the child is eating. The school needs to support the child at lunch time and break time, there should be a place to keep the emergency insulin and the school should give the child somewhere private to test the blood and also using the insulin injections. The child should be allowed to eat regularly like eating snacks during lessons. School staff should be trained by appropriate health care professionals to assist the child. Many School provide a good care for the children who has a type 1 diabetes. Teachers should allow the child to go to the toilet all the time to wee. The teacher needs to make sure that the child doesn't get cuts in PE because
whether you are communicating with an adult, child or a young person it doesnâ€TMt differ much. Moreover, each group wants be treated with respect and a positive body language such as,
As a parent or care giver you may have noticed that one or more of the children in your care display behaviours and temperaments that are somewhat different to others. This may be particularly evident when they participate in creative activities, do school work, play sports or even during their daily routines. They may seem hesitant and nervous to try new tasks and become upset when their attempts are less successful than they expected. They may seem a little ‘perfectionistic’.
As an early educators,we work very hard to ensure the safety and well being of our childeren in our care.We ensure safey and health by modeling the rules that we apply in our class room safey begins when the childeren arrive for the day. name tags are placed on the door when the childern arrive so we know who is with us.We begin by washing our hands and being seated for breakfast. One teacher will serve breakfast while the other teacher supervisors and sits with the childeren at the breakfast table. this is to prevent chocking and to see that the childeren set in the chairs the proper way.One opening teacher is to server while the other teacher in the class room takes care of changing this to prevent crossing
For example, students will not eat the food if you do decide to change it. They might not eat the food because they might not like it. They might not like the taste of the certain food you are feeding them. Not eating the food can also led them to hate eating healthy food everyday. The reason for that is they eat it everywhere they go including school, at home, and anywhere else they go. The students also worry about they next day everyday. The students can worry about it throughout the school day and ask themself if they are going to get something different for once. When the students do not eat they can be consequences for it.
Following the UNCRC (n.d) Article 2 on a children’s right to be free of non-discriminatory acts, ‘Teacher… have an even greater obligation to plan lessons for pupils who have low levels of prior attainment or come from disadvantaged backgrounds...’ (Wilson, 2014). This is line with the equal opportunities legislation that encompasses equal consideration of disability, sexual orientation, race, religion and beliefs and gender (Department for Education, 2013b). With the curriculum expectation that requires children to move on to concepts at the same pace (Department for Education, 2013), it is ideal to see how teachers encourage low attainers to access the curriculum and how they perceive such strategies that promote progression.
There are a few ways how teacher could help at-risk kids. First of all, the teacher could help these kids by supporting them through transitions. Children are not only moving from school to home, or from one school’ level to another one. Sometimes they have to deal with
While most Australian children enjoy good health, some experience chronic or acute conditions that can disrupt normal growth and childhood development, and affect participation in school and other activities.
Students should have to do chores to earn an allowance . Most parents don't get their children what they want. Therefore when a child goes into the store that child can get whatever they want if they save enough . Parents should have a colorful chart so everyday
The student's wellbeing is the most important factor of the school system, when they are well, they are able to learn to their full capacity. Japanese schools have a menu for their lunches and the food is made from scratch which means that they rarely freeze their food. They also eat with their teacher in the classroom so students/teachers can have a better relationship with each other. Every month, the students have a uniform inspection and they go get checked out by the nurse. If the students are over the mandatory waistline of 35.4 inches men and 31.5 inches for women so that they
teaching can be an issue. Children and their behavior is another big problem, according to the
As discussed above, encouraging healthy eating and good nutrition, providing a safe environment and recognising and responding to childhood illnesses are all important practices to foster. Teachers have an important role in promoting these practices and by effectively performing them, they will be promoting good health and safety in an early childhood setting.
While I was observing Child A he did not really do anything on his own. While in the classroom teachers may try and let the children become independent with a lot of situations early, so that they can get use to it early. Child A cannot really walk on his own, he does not eat his food as in using the utensils on his own. He needs help with everything that he does. In reference to the 21st century skills they should focus on his health awareness. He should be able to do a lot of things on his own instead of depending on the teachers to do everything such as help him get up and walk around and feeding him. These are things that he should be attempting to do on his own. With the health awareness it states that they should understand preventive physical and mental health measures, including proper diet, nutrition, exercise, risk avoidance and stress reduction. For example, even though the students are only infants and the class goes up to two years of age, they should have some kind of sessions or sing songs about certain healthy issues as well as doing them. This is where we have to realize that the child does have a disability and he does need our help. Even though we know what he should be doing we have to understand that the more we try and force him to do the more stress we are putting on him because he really can’t do because of his disability.
Students are people. Their voices are usually is not as mighty as that of an adult, and so it is the teacher’s duty to be that child’s advocate and fight on his behalf. Once a teacher is aware of the challenges that a student is facing in her classroom, it is up to her to put the wheels in motion and make sure that the child is set up for success. At times, this may include being an advocate for the parent as they are not always aware of what can and needs to be done for their child. It is a scary situation for many parents who are learning for the first time that their student is exceptional.
Module 3 listed many things that could factor into the student’s school day. The student may face social, emotional, and economic challenges due to the illness. They also may need more time to get from place to place, more time to rest, they may experience side-effects from medication. Students with intellectual disabilities struggle because of developmental delays which hinder them from interacting with their peers. They may show frustration sooner because they haven’t learned to control their emotions. As a teacher, it is my job to be aware of these influences that may hinder my student from learning. If I am aware of these factors it can help me accomodate my teaching to fit the needs of my student better. I need to emphasis their
During school kids can have many factors affecting their education. One of the main factors is their physical health. Physical health affects everything because if your body doesn’t want to correspond then you can’t do well. One can get too stressed and they can stop eating and if people don’t eat they don’t perform well in school. One can get ill leading them to stop going to school for a while and their education starts to get affected. Girls can also have sexual interaction leading to pregnancy and they can stop their education and continue it later or stop for good. Also if teenagers get injured they can be in the hospital for a time leading them to fail. Physical health affects education because whatever the body experiences affects the student’s performance, it can be from getting abused to physical activity.
