Ding ding! I receive a text message from my sister containing a picture of my nieces and nephew on vacation. How lucky am I? I get to spend this special time with them without having to take off work. I get to ask them how the trip is going and get a response when their memories are fresh. With today’s technology I can reach my loved ones even when they are thousands of miles away. Oceans nor mountains can separate me from them. Technology can strengthen relationships with video chat, messaging systems, online shopping, and social networks.
Video chat has become one extra special way to connect with a loved one. You get the opportunity to not only talk but see each other. Sometimes you never really know how someone is doing until you can look them in the eye and see the expressions on their face. Skype is a way for two people with computers and an internet connection to video chat with each other. But now it is made even easier with applications like Facetime and Snapchat. Facetime is as easy as calling someone and you can do it from an iPhone. In the article, “Facetime: The Ultimate
Guide” by Rene Ritchie she states, “That’s what makes Facetime perfect for seeing and hearing family during the holidays, when you are on the road, keeping grandparents connected to grandkids, making international calls when you have no long-distance plan, getting a second opinion on that jacket while you are out shopping, sharing a show, making a meeting, and much, much more.” Snapchat is an app you can get on any smartphone. Snapchat allows you to take
Vaughan 2 pictures or videos and send them to someone for them to open now or even at a later time if they are busy. It’s convenient when you and your loved one are both busy and missing each other. In a review of Snapchat on the iPhone App Store one user said, “I talk to my best friend on it every day, it’s just our way of staying in touch.”
Online shopping can strengthen a relationship. When your significant other has been having a bad day at work go online to one of the many flower deliver sites and order some special flowers with a sentimental message. It’s thoughtful and can change your loved one’s mood for the rest of the day. Photo album and personalization websites can
Well, first of all it is mobile-based and it is a lot simpler to use than you’d expect. Snapchat also lets you share with any other users instantly; you don’t have to worry about that funny face you made will come across your crush (unless you accidently sent it to them! Yikes!). “Snapchat’s true brilliance is in its creative capabilities” says a blogger. Snapchat has a text overlay and draw feature which teenagers absolutely love. You can get real artsy! Another popular reason is that the camera doesn’t flip your face. Snapchat also has awesome filters and geo filters! For those that don’t know what geo filters are – they are filters that are unique to a certain location, for example a university could have its own geo filter (even McDonalds has its own!). Last but not least, rather Snapchat’s most famous feature: the face distortions. Snapchat has built-in face recognition, which allows you to apply “filter” to your face. Some example distortions are the dog face, the mustache face, and the flower crown. Protip: if you put in your birthday in your Snapchat profile, you actually get birthday
The first reason I believe I should get Snapchat is I can only talk to my friends. This shows that I should get Snapchat because I can only communicate with my friends that I know. According to Cornell Research it states,” Essentially, users “friend” each other through the application and are then able to send each other either picture or text-based messages known as “snaps.” This proves I should get Snapchat because I can only communicate with people I know and I can only approve them like Instagram. For this reason I believe I should get Snapchat.
Observation is probably the biggest part of communication as you are using your own knowledge when getting to know someone and allowing them to feel comfortable around you and vice versa. When observing someone you observe their attitude, ability, body language and many other things and take all these into consideration when deciding on what is the best way to communicate with them. The most important thing when observing is taking it upon yourself not to judge them in any way.
Cell phones are a great tool to keep us connected to our loved ones, even if they live across the globe. “Facetime” is a video calling application that most cell phones have, that allows you to speak to and see who you are calling. This is a tremendous benefit for those who are deaf, who can simply use sign language with those they are talking to. Without cell phones this would not be possible, unless they were face to face. Also, cell phones can be used almost anywhere, anytime, which helps us stay connected even better.
She writes, “We are now in constant and continuous communication with our friends, co-workers and family over the course of a day” (Wortham 394). Even though the author’s partner lived more than 3,000 miles away, she used apps like: Google’s instant-messaging application, Gchat and others in order to correspond by voice and video that made her and other people feel close even though it’s over the screen. Physical communication is the most effective way to engage with individuals, as people are able to feel and visualize the presence of real emotions, but having a app like the one mentioned by the author, but if it’s not possible to communicate that way, communicating through the screen will fill the
Second, through some research shows that face to face communication can be closer to the hearts of people, and also can better able to convince other people's ideas. But there are many inconveniences in real-life communication. But there are many inconveniences in real-life communication. Through some research shows that more people have face to face communication problem, they have a little fear of face to face communication. Because close communication will test people's communication skills, they need to express their ideas in a short time in a timely manner. If not expressed in a short time, is likely to cause discomfort to each other, such as suspicion and hesitation. Just like the vast majority of gamblers on TV often need to have a poke face, they are not let others see their own

SnapChat is a photo messaging application (App) developed by Evan Spiegel and Robert Murphy. Both of the founders were Stanford students. The application was initially developed for a project at Stanford. This app allows the user to share photos, videos, add text/drawings, and send them to a controlled list of recipients. Users have the benefit of setting a time limit for how long the recipient can view their snaps (Ranging from 1 - 10 seconds), after which the photos/videos will be hidden from the recipient’s device and deleted from SnapChat’s servers. The smalltime college project developed into a huge social media success due to its innovative feature (Magid, 2013).
Peroratio (Ennumeratio): To summarize, firstly, Snapchat’s ephemeral nature allows for inappropriate photos to be taken, but they can be recorded and reposted; secondly, Snapchat forces users to respond immediately after viewing, trapping them in the app for hours; and thirdly, Snapchat creates mental health problems through ostracizing users from social circles.
Simple communication: People can use video conferencing to communicate with anyone with HD video and other collaboration tools such as whiteboard, text exchange, file sharing, media sharing, screen sharing, remote control, electronic voting, conference recording etc.
Face-to-face communication seems to be a dying art – replaced by text messaging, e-mails, and social media. Human communication and interactions are shaped by available technologies.
It allows a deeper connection and you get to find out more of that person’s personality this way. Calling is an easier way to grow a closer relationship with someone, so if you want to get to know someone better calling them is the way to go.
Skype, a tool still used today, is great for personal relationships with anyone you can’t see regularly, and a great professional tool as it is used to conduct interviews or meetings with people
