Technology and Teenagers Nowadays, technology is becoming one of the basic needs for human’s life. There is nothing being done in the world without technology, which does not use technology as an input in order to get some output/product that helps people to make life easier and simple. There may be many reasons, which leads us to use/consume technologies like social media’s, internet, and many more in order to buy and sell, to learn, to communicate, to meet with people who share and have the common interest on the things we share, and so on. If there is no limitation, for any technologies, which we use there are side effects on using it. Online Merriam-Webster dictionary, defines teenagers as those, “ Between at the age of 13-19 years.” ("Teenage." Merriam-Webster.com. Merriam-Webster, n.d. Web. 4 Sept. 2015. .) Thinking back about your life when you were teenager is a memo, which I left to you. Playing outside all day, riding bikes, playing sports, building forts, and working together home works and studying were some of which I remember about my childhood/teenage. Teenagers are those who are spending long time on Internet to access social media’s, online game, and anything, which they want to do so/access at different locations individually and in groups to find something based on daily interest without someone is going beyond around them. Okay using technology is not bad thing, but spending much time on Internet is destructing the lives of teenagers in different
The Internet Age has become a time in which computer technology has not been envisioned as a luxury, but rather a necessity in many parts of daily living. And as the positive impacts of technology use in the workplace, and education setting, becomes a reality then so does the negative consequences. However, the ability to deal with the negative consequences may be more difficult to deal with for adolescents and young adults who heavily use technology for social media, text messaging, and web surfing. As these impressionable sectors of society learn to navigate their place in the world with the aid of technology, they are experiencing an inordinate amount of
Additionally, social media has the negative effect of addiction. This is presented in the article, “Technology’s Negative Impact on Teens”, by Ashley M. when she writes, “California has enforced a law to prohibit using cell phones while driving due to the numerous amount of accidents.” Teens who drive are so addicted to social media that they can’t even put down their phones. Actually, the reason the law was made was because there were too many accidents occurring from texting and driving. If teens were not so obsessed over social media, they wouldn’t be distracted while driving. Furthermore, in the same source, it accounts, “Even in school, teens are texting during class, distracting them from the teacher’s lecture.” Adolescents who text or
There have been many studies done on the negative psychological and sociological effects of technology while some may be true technology has its share of positive effects on society. The advances of technology have aided in the access to information from relatively anywhere. According to Hepburn (2013) “By the end of 2014, the number of Internet users was expected to be almost 3 billion, two-thirds of whom live in the developing world, and the number of mobile broadband subscriptions was expected to reach 2.3 billion globally” (as cited in Yáñez, Okada, & Palau2015, p.89). It has become easier to stay connected to family, friends, access personal information, and has improved educational opportunities. Technology is always evolving and changing for the better. “Mobile technologies and networks are increasingly expanding in their sophistication and capacity, and new applications (software programs) are enhancing the ways in which individuals interact” (Giota, 2014).
By definition A teenager, or teen, is a young person whose age falls within the range from 13–19. They are called teenagers because their age number ends with "teen". Today Grady and I will be adressing the represenatation of teenagers in the media and how and why they are percieved the way they are.
In this world of growing technological dependence we are losing the ability to socialize without the interruptions of technology. Physiological changes, addiction, and saturation of information are just a few of the negative effects that technology can cause to anyone who has used it. Technology is, without a doubt, detrimental if it is not used in moderation.
In our society today kids from the ages of 13 to 19 are by definition teenagers. Today when you think of some teenagers,
From waking up to an alarm clock in the morning, to texting our friends during the day, to using an electric toothbrush at night, we have all relied on the use of technology. Today, technology has become an essential part of most people’s everyday lives. With the rapid growth of technology, we are continually discovering new ways to make our lives faster and simpler. However, there have been many debates regarding how these new methods have concerning side affects. A lot of concern is shown on our societies dependency upon these new innovations; our inability to cope with life without these useful but not necessary tools.
Does technology really harm teenagers? Many parents say they limit their children for using technology in their daily life, including playing video games. However, Hans’s story told us playing video games can learn something that we cannot learn from books for daily life, or even it would save their life. Although there are some disadvantages for teenagers to use technology in health, learning and networking aspect, it is still worth to let them using it because the benefits can cover drawbacks.

Everywhere you go teens seem to be glued to their phones, tablets, or computers. Technology is an addiction that does not seem to be going away any time soon. According to the Washington Post, teens can spend up to seven or more hours on their digital devices a day and the usage is still increasing. Not surprisingly enough, more than a third of all teenagers own a cellphone, ranging from a smart phone or just a plain old-school flip phone. But can spending all that time on their computers and smart devices be such a bad thing? Today’s easy access, always on world presents a wealth of opportunity for teens as students, but also challenges them to retain them essential humanity and unique personalities.
