Walt Disney created some of the greatest and most advanced technology ever. Much of his Technology is still here today. Until he created Disneyland there were no other theme parks of it’s kind. He didn’t stop there he created Disney World one of the biggest theme parks ever. No matter what it was Walt always thought he could do better. Walt Disney was born in 1901 in Missouri. From a young age he wanted to be a cartoonist. Walt Disney dropped out of high school at the age of Sixteen. Walt opened his first animation studio in his twenties. This was his biggest idea yet and was meant to be a place where parents and kids could have fun together. Walt originally planned for Disneyland to be smaller and located near Burbank and his studio. The center of Disneyland was a castle based on Snow White. The rides were based on Disney Movies. Disneyland opened one year after construction began, but opening day was a disaster. It was one of the hottest days of the year and everything went wrong. The problems on opening day were broken rides, not enough drinking fountains, counterfeit tickets, and soft asphalt. He made training, propaganda and health films for the armed services. Walt Disney created many different characters that we all know today. One of the most famous is Mickey the Mouse who’s original name was Mortimer. Disney did the voices of some of his characters that he created. He did the voices for Mickey Mouse and Minnie from 1925-1946 and then again from 1955-1959. On July 13, 1925 Walt Disney married on of his first employees, Lillian. They had two children together Diane and Sharon. Disneyland started out as a vision that kids and grownups could have fun together. The original plans for Disneyland were spots to be on 8 acres next to Burbank studios. Then he realized that 8 acres was not enough. He found 160 acres grove near the junction of Santa Ana Freeway. Walt Disney spent his 65th birthday in the hospital. He died on December 15, 1965 because of lung cancer. After his death the company continued to make movies and build Disney world.
