Walt Disney created some of the greatest and most advanced technology ever. Much of his Technology is still here today. Until he created Disneyland there were no other theme parks of it’s kind. He didn’t stop there he created Disney World one of the biggest theme parks ever. No matter what it was Walt always thought he could do better. Walt Disney was born in 1901 in Missouri. From a young age he wanted to be a cartoonist. Walt Disney dropped out of high school at the age of Sixteen. Walt opened his first animation studio in his twenties. He partnered with his brother Roy who ran the business side of the studio. Walt always used the best technology. This was his biggest idea yet and was meant to be a place where parents and kids could have fun together. Walt originally planned for Disneyland to be smaller and located near Burbank and his studio. The center of Disneyland was a castle based on Snow White. The rides were based on Disney Movies. Disneyland opened one year after construction began, but opening day was a disaster. It was one of the hottest days of the year and everything went wrong. The problems on opening day were broken rides, not enough drinking fountains, counterfeit tickets, and soft asphalt. After a few days they worked out the problems and it became a success. Disneyland’s opening was broadcast on live TV, and was co hosted by Ronald Reagan. Like opening day problems at the park, the TV program also had many technical difficulties. DisneyLand has more than 14 million visitors a year. Disneyland makes close to 3 billion dollars a year. It is almost five times the size of the Magic Kingdom. Animal Kingdom, the largest park at Disney World opened in April of 1998. The park includes animatronic dinosaurs,a safari, and real wild animals. The animal kingdom theme park contains 4 million plants, and is made to look like an african savanna. To make the landscape for Animal Kingdom 60 loads of dirt were brought in per day for two years. Some of the plants used in the park were grown by Disney.
