My topic that I’ve searched is black holes, and I’ve done previous projects and conducted multiple research tasks of this subject. What I have researched on black holes basically covers, how they are made, what they do, how they die, and the effects they can have on parts of the universe. I do not claim to be an expert, but my knowledge over black holes could be considered extensive. For this assignment I did not learn anything new or discover any new theories over black holes. My research process was not completely taxing or difficult, I simply revisited websites, books, scholarly journals that I’ve searched before, but I did have to search completely new sources and change my approach a bit. the citation style I used was MLA.
Bunn, Ted. "Black Holes FAQ." BLACK HOLES by Ted Bunn. 1 Sept. 1995. Web. 8 Nov. 2015.
Ted Bunn's webpage over black holes does a good job at informing the reader on black holes without over complicating the explanations. He even goes into extra detail about black holes, like how the experience would be if someone were to enter the gravitational pull of one. Additionally, he does a good job at entertaining the reader with his fascinating details and hypothetical situations. As Bunn entertains us he still remains a down to earth informer and reminds us that the information though true will be

General as not much information that would stand out from the rest and the article itself is relatively short compared to other sources. She does however add an interesting tidbit about if a black hole was next to earth, but she quickly dismisses this by basically saying it could never happen in reality. She also adds another tangent about if the sun became a black hole but this to she dismisses. The article is captioned as being made for grades 5-8, but proves to be a reliable source of information that anyone interested in this field could find
During my junior year of high school, I was assigned to use sources for one of our papers for the year. It was on the book, The Great Gatsby. It was my first time to ever be opened to the idea of doing research and finding sources for a paper. While my teacher tried to explain to us, she more or less just gave the instructions to us and we were on our own. I do not think I did effective research because—with it being my first time—I mostly just grabbed books and sources online that seemed related to my subject and looked for information that seemed to fit. I did not go in depth to find more fitting sources to go with my paper. My paper turned out different from what I intended, seeing since I did not have the right sources to fit my intended
The first chapter of the MLA Handbook covers the very professional and rather mechanical process of writing a research paper. It begins by identifying the different types of research and the important skills developed by creating these types of papers. It then dives into the actual process of writing, beginning with the selection of your topic and suggests that the subject matter should interest you throughout the entirety of the writing process. A major chunk of this chapter is dedicated to exploring different research methods and sources, making sure you are aware of all of the information that is available. It also stresses the importance of using credible sources and keeping track of which ones you’ve used, creating your working bibliography.
Stephen Hawking a well-known theoretical physicists, has contemplated the conundrum of whether or not information is destroyed at the horizon of black hole.
The sixty-symbols website has quite the collection of intriguing astronomical theories and interviews, but I specifically chose that of the black hole that contains interviews by Omar Almaini, Ed Copeland, Tony Padilla, Meghan Gray and Mike Merrifield from the University of Nottingham. The video began by a man revealing to his audience that he is often questioned about his personal opinion on black holes, which he informs us that “of course” he sees them as frightening and intimidating but goes on to refer to them as “cuddly”. Upon further explanation he points out two small (but different sized), round, black balls of fabric (that seemed to be knitted) that were gifts for his sister-in-law and they are meant to be representation of black holes with their solid black exterior. This seems like a useless example, but after thinking about it more critically I realize that I wasn’t

“The Black Hole” is a short film and uses video and sound as the only means of communication to the audience. There is no dialogue since the man in the film is the only person in the office. This film relied heavily on using video to convey the message flickering lights and dark shadows add a scary feeling in the film. All the other works we viewed had dialogue, since this film did not it stood out among the others.

Black holes are interesting because of the history of how they are made Fact 1: black holes are formed from a dying star Fact 2 : black holes can be big depending on how big the star was Fact 3: if a black hole meets another black hole it will cancel each other out Body Paragraph:
Western culture and policies have shaped the modern world, especially the Middle East, in many ways. Since the sixteenth century, the nations of Western civilization have been the driving wheels of modernization. Globalization is simply the spread of modern institutions and ideas from one high power to the wider world. Technological innovation and economic growth along with such concepts as democracy, individualism, and the rule of law administered by an impartial judiciary, set Western societies above and beyond any possible rival. Other cultures looked to the West as a model, a threat, or some combination of both. One country that was most successful in their confrontations with Western states was Japan, who incorporated Western
My research question of where do nightmares comes from, and how do they affect people, is still a good question for me to be asking. I haven’t run into many issues with trying to find information about it. The sources that I have collected are all very useful for multiple reasons. Some of them are to help with general information about things that I know, but now everyone may know. Some of the sources are to help directly argue the question of where do they come from. Lastly, some of them help get into how they affect people. I know that I will be using a lot more sources as time goes on. But for right now this is a great start with the research. My research isn’t complete, but with what has been collected, I am able to produce the rough outline.
After finishing my annotated bibliography I thought finding sources was the hardest thing ever until, I started comparing the sources I already had. From the comparisons I made it seemed easier to find new sources with like or opposing ideas that dealt with my discipline. I had a writing workshop that helped me understand that I had no idea how to cite correctly. Most of my citation had no page numbers or periods in the wrong place. After going through the paper many times using Hack and Summers I was able to correct most problems I found. The Literature Review taught me how to find like ideas in research while also finding opposing ideas. At the end of each comparison and difference I made a statement of relevance to prove my research fit
Black holes should probably not be called black holes. In fact, black holes are anything but empty space. Black holes are a great amount of matter packed and squeezed into a very small area. The result of this amount of matter squeezed into a small area results in a gravitational field so strong that nothing, not even light, can escape.
He sees the black holes as miniature models of a full scale universe. His idea that the implosion of the star could be related to the implosion of the universe. He wonders if the expansion of the black holes until their disappearance is relative to the expansion of the universe. This area seems to be a focused area of Stephen's work.
In the beginning of my research I had trouble thinking of a topic, I brainstormed and jotted down topics that are of my interests and topics that are currently going on I then decided to choose my topic on free public college education. In the beginning of my search for articles on free college education, I had trouble looking for the right articles I mostly received results that were not related to free public college education and this frustrated me. I then tried to be as specific as possible when it came to the keywords I then used Boolean searching, this gave me more relatable sources on my topic. Boolean searching is what helped me the most when it came to looking for articles that are useful for my
Roy Kerr’s theory on the rotating black hole, along with the rotating singularity seemed to convince many, even before black holes were not believed to exist. However, modern work published in late August 1998 by Piran and Shahar Hod has seemingly ended this idea. They used complex computer simulations to study how an electrically charged black hole might form and how the singularity would behave. They showed that a process known as "mass inflation" violated the Kerr hypothesis. When a particle moves towards the black hole, the apparent mass of the hole increases to infinity as observed by the object. Thus, causing the singularity to go
