Alex Libby is a teen activist who wants to stop bullying. He made a difference by being in a documentary called Bully and telling his life story about him being bullied, he also wears a shirt that says “I stand for the silent.” Alex Libby had his ups and downs in his school career this is a big problem in the United States and the documentary gave him a voice to speak up against bullying.
Alex Libby is a teen activist and he is also a helper and was once bullied by others. Because of this, he was in the movie“Bully”, which is a documentary about his life and what the bullies said to him and how they hurt him. Because of the bullying, it caused him and his family to change schools. Now he has a good life and he has even made his own website, “Stand for the Silent” for people to support people who are being bullied.
What is a teen activist? A teen activist is a teenager who wants to help people or animals for a cause. What I think about all teen activists is that they all fight for what they believe in. They go to extensive lengths to help people to help us. They don't do this because they have to they do it because they want to do it. They don't care that the odds were against them or they have very little chance of succeeding. They do what they want and the do it right. They are like the voice of the people fighting up against poverty and all the other struggles in the world. Most activists go through a lot like Malala but I won't get to deep into that yet. They all have the courage to do what they do.
Do you think being a teen activist is easy? Teen activists help the world in many ways, but it isn’t easy to fight for their cause. Teen activists persevere through any challenges they get. They are brave, and have to be good speakers to get other people’s attention. They often found organizations or teams to help them on their mission. So being a teen activist isn’t that easy. But how to fight for your cause is the hardest part. You have to find a way to get help for your cause. Teen activists use many ways to fight for their cause.
They may have even risked their lives for their cause. Iqbal Masih is an example of this. On “YouTube,” some teenagers explained how Iqbal was sold at four years old to a carpet factory. Iqbal was labored there until he was ten and escaped. He was angry and started giving speeches around the world trying to end the child labor. He was targeted by the carpet industry because of this. Even though it wasn’t safe for him to leave and go see his family, he still went back home. Unfortunately, he was shot and killed in front of his grandmother's house. This shows that he was very brave and cared a lot about making the world a better place. Malala Yousafzai is another brave activist. Malala believed that women had just as many rights as men did, and believed that women deserved an education. According to the Website, “BBC,” “One year ago Malala Yousafzai was shot in the head by Taliban gunmen - her "crime", to have spoken up for the right of girls to be educated. The world reacted in horror, but after weeks in intensive care Malala survived.” Malala could've just stayed at home and protected herself but she went on with life and made it out of her injury
Around the world, many people are afraid to speak their minds. Teen activists inspire people. They are believers who want to change the world. They want to stand up for something that they believe in. What they do for people is very beneficial. They all have motivations for what they do. These teen activists all persevere and do all that they can to get their point out to the world. They all help people along with them selves. I noticed that they will never give up and they will try their hardest. For example, Malala was shot through the head with a bullet. Although that happened she didn't give up. Alex has been helping with the environment since he was in fifth grade. He probably went through some tough choices and difficulties,
Chapter three - How people can prevent bullying from happening. What can you do if you are the Bystander?
What do you do on a Saturday? Sit around watching TV, playing around with your friends, studying for a math test you have on Monday? Well, let me tell you what some of the other teens in this country do. They are either leading protest rallies, starting marches, or talking on interviews to tell the world what they believe in. Not your typical weekend, right? These amazing kids are called teen activists. They fight for the cause they believe in fiercely, whether it’s against animal cruelty, education issues, bullying, or child labor. Some of the teens have a dangerous life full of death threats as they pursue their cause, like Malala and Iqbal. Meanwhile, other like Faye Carey and Alex Lin don't risk their lives, but they still make a big difference in the world. However, nobody’s born with a cause to fight in. Teens become activists through different experiences. They either go through a personal struggle themselves, they see others around them struggle, or they read about the injustice.
Have you ever been passionate about something? Well teen activists are. Teen activists are kids that want to make a difference. How can you can become a teen activist? Well do something that benefits the community. Three people who did this are Bianca V, Malala Yousafzai, and Faye Carey. This is how they started a fight for what they believe in.
For example, Malala is constantly fighting for girls to have the right for education and for girls to be able to go to school. She is doing this because she wants to have the right to learn about things just like boys do. You might think that nothing would happen to a teenage girl who is fighting to go to school, but according to ABC News “She unfortunately got shot in the head on the way home from school one day by the Taliban, a terrorist group.” You would think she would give up but she didn’t she kept going and she kept fighting for her right. That's what makes her a very good teen activist.
Have you ever heard of a teen activist? If you haven’t, you will today. A teen activist is a kid or a teenager who wants to change the world. They fight for what they are passionate about. They go through tough obstacles along the way but don’t give up what they love. They do this because they want to change the world. Some teen activists are Malala Yousafzai, Alex Libby, and Alex Lin.
Can one teen really change the world and make it a better place? At least certain teens try and that’s why we call them teen activists. Teen activists fight for a cause that is important to them and other people in similar situations, or facing similar challenges, or simply seeing an opportunity for change. They work in very different ways and use different communication channels, such as; social media, newspapers, and interviews to reach their target audience. Christopher Yao, Alex Lin, and Shawn De Angelo all started their activism as teens.
Most teen activists face some kind of problem physical or mental abuse be for or while making a difference and they get set back , but they speak out about it. Activists are people with a lot of passion and they like to take on challenges , also some get hurt in the process of helping. Then they work even harder and stand up for what is right. Also teen activists have a reason to do something good for others.Teen activists are challenged with physical / mental abuse and they stand up for it. Malala tried to get stopped by the Taliban. Iqbal was chained up to a wall making carpets. Also Alex Libby got bullied by boys at school and he still spoke out about it.
Teen activists are people who fight for certain causes that will help impact the world in a good way. Teen activists have common characteristics such as their compassion for others and their bravery to stand up for what is right. What made teen activists think of others or the community? Some teen activists are inspired after having a personal struggle and others are inspired by a single moment. Teen activists also make great sacrifices to fight for what they think is right such as risking their lives. Teen activists are people who are compassionate for others and stand up for their cause by creating organizations or by forming teams.
Some teen activist have met personal struggle in their lives and act on behalf of others who might experience the same thing. For example, Malala’s school in Pakistan got shut down by the Taliban terrorist group. The open schools only allowed boys to attend, so she couldn’t continue her education. In an article in the “Chronicle Herald”, Malala said, “I want to serve people. I want girls to be educated.”
