In Canadian history there are many famous people. In my mind one really stands out among the rest. His name is Terry Fox and he is one of the greatest athlete to run on the face of this planet. Terry discovered he had cancer and then decided to run across Canada. He was a brave man who would take what the world through at him. Running across Canada was his way to show the world that he was not going out with out a fight.
Terry Fox was born in Winnipeg Manitoba on July 28 1958 Terry was raised in port Coquintlam, British Columbia. He was very athletic from a young age. When he was in grade eight Terry was rated nineteen out of nineteen on his basketball team. For that first season he was on the court for approximately one minute. This

He took on his new challenge as he usually had. Terry made himself strong by pushing his wheel chair. He would push himself along the sea wall of Stanley Park in Vancouver or find a steep mountain of a log road and would go to his hands bled. Two years after Terry stated his training to run, so nobody could see him he ran his first half-mile in the dark. For fifteen months of training and after running 3159 miles his stump was raw and bleeding. Terry ran 101 days everyday he ran 23 miles a day and only stopped for Christmas because his mother asked him. Terry was always determined. One day when his artificial leg broke he hitchhiked home and fixed his leg and ran another 5 miles. He told his mother about his journey to run across Canada his mother told him he was crazy but when she told his father he simple asked "When?"
Terry received his sponsorship and on April 12 1980 he dipped his artificial leg in the Atlantic ocean of the coast of St. Johns Newfoundland, there he began to run the greatest Adventure of his life,
"I loved it," Terry said. " I enjoyed myself so much and that was what other people couldn’t realize. They thought I was going through a nightmare running all day long. People thought I was going through hell. Maybe I was partly, but still I was doing what I wanted and a dream was coming true and that, above everything else, made it all
ever hold our highest political office, but the greatest Canadian to ever exist is his distinct ability
Terry was diagnosed with cancer and had part of his leg amputated, however, he didn’t lose hope and confidence for the life. In fact, he decided to do a series of 10-kilometre runs across Canada. With the 3393-mile-long running in different locations, a lot of Canadians are inspired , and they called on the offices of Minister of Amateur Sport Gerald Regan, Governor General Edward Schreyer, and Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau, to celebrate a national honour of Fox. Fitness and Amateur Sport announced it the “commemorate Terry’s great marathon achievement” and his “courage and unifying influence on our nation” (Fitness and Amateur Sport 1981). This announcement was widely spread so that Terry’s Marathon of Hope has been marked as the significant Canadian moment. At that time, Terry was not only as a hero but also as a man who “joined Canada together at a time when” it “was growing farther and farther apart” (Hamm 1981). In fact, Terry’s Marathon of Hope took place when the Charter of Rights and Freedoms was under construction, Dominion Day was renamed Canada Day, and “O Canada” became the official national anthem. All of theses were part of a “new symbolic order” crafted primarily by the Trudeau Liberals, which promoted a pan-Canadian vision of the federation (Hayday 2010, 311). His strong efforts and attitude towards the marathon means significant to the whole country. Daniel
Introduction: Throughout the book of Into The Wild Chris McCandless is known to be a wacko reckless idiot, and is also known to be courageous and heroic. However does a courageous person go out into the wilderness knowing that the outcome will be fatal? People viewed him from different perspectives and also have broad range of opinions of this young man. Some deemed him to be incredibly dim-witted or a man that simply just followed his heart. Evidence shows that Chris McCandless is actually a mix of both. The first opinion that described McCandless was brainless, idiotic, and extremely foolish. Many passages from Into The Wild can support this outlook.
Canada is a home to many great, important, powerful and significant people, who some are more known than others, some have done good and not so good things. Putting aside the under appreciated people or the ones who made big mistakes, these people are all significant. For example, Lester Pearson who practically stopped World War Three, or Terry Fox who wanted to run around Canada with one functioning leg to raise money for cancer. Also Pierre Trudeau, the former Prime Minister who went behind the queen, danced and almost fell on her. Avril Phaedra Douglas “Kim” Campbell is not the most important Canadian but she is very significant. She is significant for three reasons, she was a big factor in Federal
While he was in the hospital he knew that he wasn’t the only one suffering with cancer so he decided to run across Canada to raise money for cancer research. He was forced to stop running on the outside of Thunder Bay because his cancer appeared in his lungs. He went to the hospital and he didn’t want to spend the fundraised money on hi treatment because he wanted to donate all the money for cancer research but when he died he was happy because he did what he wanted to do. On july, 28 1981 he died.
Over the years, plenty of great Canadians have achieved and shaped Canada to what is it today. One individual by the name of Lester Bowles Pearson changed Canada in a way very few have. Pearson was born in 1897 in a small town just outside of Toronto (www.nobelprize.org). His parents Edwin Pearson and Annie Sarah raised him. Little did they know their son would be one of the greatest Canadians of all time. Pearson was known as a diplomat, professor, historian and the Prime Minister of Canada from 1963-1968(www.thecanadianencyclopedia.ca). Lester B. Pearson was a remarkable man with a dream to put Canada on the map and he did so not only in a domestic way, but also in an international way. In particular, his idea to give Canada a new flag,
Criminal Minds, Fox 11 news and Of Christian Heroism are by far all-different topics. Criminal minds dialogue contains words that emphases what they are trying to say. Fox 11 news uses thought out wording; however, some did not use classy words. Of Christian Heroism have intelligent describing words. Comparing and contrasting words and sentence structures is not an easy task.
Pierre Trudeau is the greatest Canadian of the twentieth century due to the fact that he declared Canada’s independence from Great Britain, he abolished the death penalty, and he created the Official Languages Act, making our nation entirely bilingual.
Foxy Originals hopes to gain successful market entry into the United States within six months. The U.S. market is significantly larger than the Canadian market that Foxy currently operates in and has substantially less brand loyalty and demand for classic jewelry. Foxy’s two potential methods of market entry are: (1) Tour their products at ten U.S trade shows and make direct sales to retailers or (2) Hire four sales representatives in fashion hubs across the U.S. We, Vandelay Industries, recommend Foxy implement the first alternative.

In life, we are susceptible to danger just about everywhere we go. Most people avoid danger at all costs, however there are certain dare devils who will face danger head on. Have you ever wondered if some people willingly put themselves in dangerous situations just to explore their curiosity? If you had to take a guess, would you guess that men or women are more likely to willingly enter dangerous situations? People will face danger for many different reasons, some because they are not at all aware of the potential danger, and others do because their temptation is too strong. In an initial reading, Oyeyemi’s tale “What Happens Next” in her novel Mr. Fox begins by telling the story of Mary Foxe’s plane ride back to London where she meets

Bill Fox is charismatic, well-rounded, prime example of the extreme versatility and applicability of being a “writer” -- whether being a poet or a recording the Antarctic landscape or writing wine labels. To begin with, Bill Fox explained that one day he went to an art studio, saw a crazy piece of an atomic bomb blowing up, that was a visual cautionary tale of nuclear power -- he wrote a catalog essay, which led to an artist in Reno asking for one as well. So that’s the beginning and one snippet of Fox’s creative career.
