He wrote this song from his own personal experience. The song is about his father who passed away in 2012 (Nelson, 2016). It’s a very emotional and inspiring song. He is speaking to his father through song. It’s his way of letting his father know how he feels after his death. Eye of the tiger is another song which is all about resolve, however it appeals to me in a different way. As I am a person who agrees that being dependant on someone is never a good idea. Anyways this song by telling a story about a meek women who got thrown away when she was no longer useful. And then it continues on by showing her being strong and independant. As she changed after no longer being reliant on somebody else.

“On my first son” was a poem we read in class, and after reading it one time through, my table partners and I did not have a single clue about what the poem meant. After brainstorming ideas and recording our thoughts, we were able to understand the poem 20 minutes later. This process was repeated when Anna, Udonne, and I tried to make meaning out of the poem “Outbound” by Greg Williamson. Our discussion process consisted on going line by line and asking questions about what we did or did not understand. Anna asked if anybody had trouble with the first two lines, which were “We passengers ride backward on the train And train our eyes on what has passed us by.”

From the beginning, the tiger is questioned about his existence, “What immortal hand or eye/ Could frame thy fearful symmetry?” Blake continues to asks, “On what wings dare he aspire?/ What the hand, dare sieze the fire?/ And what shoulder, & what art/ Could twist the sinews of thy heart?” This example presents his belief of creation, and distrust in religion. The tiger presented becomes a unique symbol representing Blake’s investigation of evil in this “pure” world.

I chose this song because it is originally made about Clapton’s young son who passed away when he fell out of a window. I think this song is related to Coyotito, Kino and Juana. It is related to Coyotito because it is about a young child dying. However, the song is being told by grieving parent, that believes they have to move on. Which Kino and Juana are doing at the end of the book.

When I first heard the song, I immediately searched for it on the internet and listened to the whole version because I thought it was such a powerful song. The lyrics of the song tell a story, it is one of pain and sorrow, but it’s a story that I think everyone can relate to. The lyrics are very simple and they all come together to form a detailed depiction of Bradley’s emotions. When I hear Bradley sing about his loss, it triggers me into thinking about the loved ones that I have lost. The rhythm of the song is very slow pace and calm, which sets the mood for Bradley’s gritty deep voice, but when the chorus hits, then the saxophone jumps in to excite the whole song.

“The Gardner” written by Angela Christmas, express the poem’s complex topic of raising a child with developmental delays. At a young age, the child in the poem was diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and other learning disorders. The child’s Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, commonly called ADHD, would cause his teachers to him labeled as a problem child at school. He has always been separated from the other children and placed by himself. His disorders cause him to feel like an outsider in school as well as at home. The lyrics capture imagery as well when someone awakes then he or she’s life is now complete so their cheeks aren’t dry anymore because they have a person to share it with. Rythms in the lyrics help remind the person reading or listening to the lyrics that the person depressed in the song has negative thoughts about him or she life and about them that their life is plain, mouring of a person to share it with, and trying to remeber that they are not sane. The song is special at capturing the listering and readers attention over the lyrics by expressing how one person can view themself and their life in a depressed way. I really love this song because it means that just because you believe your life is plain and boring or that you have no one and you have to remind your self your not sane that you can change your life by making it something better then it already

There are many different things in this song that make it so meaningful to me. The majority of the meaning actually comes from some of the lyrics, that remind me of my dad. The song starts right away with a guitar being played with a quieter but upbeat pace. This gives off a feeling of good vibes, and a little sense of what is coming. Next a violin jumps in playing mezzo forte and gives off a sense of excitement and happiness (this is one of my favorite parts of the song). During the song, the lyrics of “Don’t let regret take place of the dreams you have to chase. Ask her to dance. Go on son.”, are sung. The part where “go on son” is sung reminds me of my dad looking at me and my brother and signing those lyrics. When I hear those lyrics I can imagine me following my dreams and my dad being so proud of me for doing so. Later in the song, the lyrics “you may have lost this battle, live to fight another day” are sung. These lyrics remind me to always keep striving for my goal, and no matter what happens my brother and dad (along with the rest of my family) will always be supporting

In the end, each poem has teaches its readers a new way to approach and appreciate of poetry.

Also another part of the song that I connected with is "hoping for the best but expecting the worst" I cant relate to this note of the song because that has been my mindset through all this years, I'm always hoping for the best but always prepare to known that things can't always turn out right in life.
