Tesco's Primary Partner Bunches

In this task I will be describing eight different stakeholders which are; customers, employees, suppliers, owners, trade unions, employer associations, local and national communities and the government. I will be stating what they are, who they are, why they useful, how they influence stake holders on organisation and why they are useful to business I have chosen which is Tesco and The British Heart Foundation.

Ownership and liability - Tesco is a multinational grocery and general merchandise. Founded in the east end of London by Jack Cohen in 1919. Registered in the UK, operates in 14 countries across Asia, Europe, and North America. Also, a public limited company (plc). A plc is when shares are sold and traded on the stock exchange. Likewise, with it being a plc meaning they have limited liability meaning it protects the business against the risk of being sued so they are not held responsible. There are features that include that they buy and sell shares on the stock market meaning they have an increased capita since they issue shares and debentures.

Tesco are committed to having a constructive dialogue with stakeholders to ensure that they understand what is important to stake holder and allow their selves the opportunity to present their position. Engagement helps them to identify new risks and opportunities to ensure that their long-term strategy is sustainable. In some instances, they find that working with stakeholders in partnership can help deliver shared goals. They might not be able to satisfy all stakeholder concerns all the time but through engagement they can do their best to balance competing demands. Tesco knows that customers need to be able to trust their business

External stakeholders are stakeholders who are not as involved within Tesco PLC and RSPCA as much as the internal stakeholders but are involved in some way.

Although they have external stakeholders in their business the must have internal stakeholders for them

Another stakeholder within Tesco is the shareholders. The shareholders are internal stakeholders. A shareholder is someone who owns a part/share in a company. There

After the end of every year, major companies produce an annual report to show shareholders or poteintial investors their performers for the year. Throught this report, the company is able to plan and set goals for the next trading year. Therfore, allowing them to identify their weakness and streanght.

A business does not operate in a vacuum.It has to act and react to what happens outside the factory. These factors that happened outside the business are known as external factors or influences.

I am going to evaluate the influence that stakeholders exert on Tesco. I will be evaluating the following stakeholders: customers, employees, shareholders, suppliers, the government and owners.

Stakeholders can be divided into internal and external claimants. Internal claimants include shareholders and employees including the managers of the firm. External claimants typically comprise customers, suppliers, bankers, competitors, governments, trade unions, alliance partners, communities and the general public. Looking further into external stakeholders one could, also include the environment.

There are a wide range of different political factors that will influence Tesco and the way it will run as a business. For example, the UK government, or the body accountable for the nation the grocery store is arranged in, the European Union and other organisations for example, the World Trade Organisation. The World Trade Organisation should ensure the nourishment being imported is safe and that the trading is fair.

Tesco PLC, the top three retailer in the world, which was establish by Jack Cohen in 1919 year, which has near 100-Year history. In these days, it has been thrived to 12 country all over the world, including United Kingdom, Malaysia, India, Hungary, Ireland, Kipa, Slovakia, Poland, Czech, Thailand, even South Korea, and China (Tescoplc.com, 2012). Tesco is a public limited company. According to Marcouse (2011:92), “Public limited company (Plc) is a larger type of company that must have at least £50,000 of share capital and has its shares traded on the stock market”, therefore Tesco can have greater capital source and shareholders in their business.

As I have mentioned before, this research paper is being taken exclusively with the aim to evaluate the Tesco’s performance in both financial and business terms over a three years period. Since the financials will be compared with its three year

The business that I will be talking about is Tesco; this business is known to create value for customers to earn their lifetime loyalty. Tesco offers a wide range of products and services from groceries, household products, and clothing to insurance (travel insurance), this highlights that the company falls into the high volume category. A high volume category is when, a business that has a high number of trades, which leads to more products which also leads to catering to more customers. Tesco is known to be a business that has a high variety of products; as the company has a wide range of suppliers also Tesco intends to cater to a wide range of customers. The company intends to have a seven part strategy; this enables Tesco to have a long-term sustainable growth, as this puts responsibilities to the groups Tesco serve, furthermore when it comes to visibility the business wants to develop the companies’ responsibility strategy and manage its performance.

Tesco was founded in 1919 by Jack Cohen, when he purchased the shipment of tea from T.E Stockwell and later in 1924 combined the initial of the names (TES) with the first two letters of his surname (CO). The first TESCO store was opened in Burnt Oak, Middlesex in 1929. Tesco is now operating in 14 different countries around the globe with almost 5000 stores worldwide and it is one of the largest retailers around the world. According to Kantar worldpanel, 2012 Tesco covers almost 30% of the market share in the UK.
