The first wave knocked out all of the power, then the 2nd wave hit. I Zac Fearon watched the 5th wave and will be reviewing the movie. This movie I watched was in the movie theaters during February of 2016, almost one year ago. I only watched this movie one time but it was still the best movie I had ever seen. The 5th Wave trailer is why I watched this movie. My friend also told me that he really enjoyed it. To start off, The 5th Wave has many interesting facts that happened during the process and after the process during the creation of the movie. The movie came out in February of 2016. Four major actors in the film were Chloe Grace Moretz (Cassie Sullivan), Zackary Arthur (Sam Sullivan), Gabriela Lopez (Lizbeth), and Maggie Siff (Lisa
Throughout the film Do the Right Thing, we continuously observe racial conflict that builds up to such an extreme point that it leads to a fight for power. This movie portrays the struggles and realities of a neighborhood with white and black African American people. This can be seen in many instances for example when Buggin ' Out, Radio Raheem, and Smiley march into Sal 's and demand that Sal change the Wall of Fame. Another vital instance shows the height of power struggle. It is when the huge fight starts in the street and results in Raheem being killed by a white police officer.
American actor Anthony Mackie once said “There are a lot of limitations and stigmas that are placed on young actors, specifically young black actors.” You have probably seen black male actors play the leading role of a drug addict, drug dealer, abusive husband or a even a thief. Although they do get a chance to be displayed on the media, they more often than ever are represented or viewed as the antagonist. Why? Because they are set up according to certain limitations in which they must obey. The lack of accurate representation on black actors in the media today is the result of prejudice and racism occurring in society. Racism and prejudice which are demonstrated in the films directed by Spike Lee, Do the Right Thing and Jungle Fever.
The Fifth Wave, a novel by Rick Yancey, tells the story of Cassie Sullivan as she tries to survive and save her brother from aliens who attacked Earth in five different waves, trying to destroy the human race.
“Violence as a way of achieving racial justice is both impractical and immoral. It is impractical because it is a descending spiral ending in destruction for all.”(Martin Luther King Jr.). Violence and racism are both important motifs in, Do the Right Thing (Lee, 1989). They are prominent in almost every scene of the film and lead to the climax when Radio Raheem is killed by the police. Spike Lee used many different directorial techniques in his movie. Heat and music were an example of this and were prominent throughout the movie. They were clever ways that Lee got across his ideas, they brought the audience into the movie. They helped immerse you in the movie and made you feel as if you were feeling the
1. What is the "fourth wall" concept? The “fourth wall” concept is the “idea that the productions actions takes place in its own little room, and the audience is able to passively witness this action because the room’s fourth wall is removed, allowing the audience access. It has influenced many theatre and film productions.” 2.

Yancey decides to explain what is happening as the story goes on, not right away; eventually the reader gets to understand more about The Waves that caused so much destruction on Earth. Paradise Now is a 2-hour film released in 2005, it depicts a perspective alternative in a highly controversial topic of suicide bombers or also known as a ‘martyr’. The movie takes place in Palestine during the Israeli occupation and illustrates the mundane life and frustration felt by the main characters Said and Khaled due to the oppression experienced during the conflict. A key feature that is also portrayed is the reasoning, and almost justification of an attack on that level. However, the perpatrators can be seen showing feelings of hesitance and even inquisitiveness in relation to the afterlife that they are promised and whether violent resistance is the last option. This paper, will discuss how “Paradise Now” provoked my views and

The cancellation of the television series, Frequency, was premature and prevented it from fully blossoming into the hit it could have been. The series follows a young woman named Raimy Sullivan, a detective of the New York Police Department. Raimy and her father begin to communicate across time with a ham radio and alter the past. Because of this, problems arise that they must repair. The series, which aired on the CW, added some well deserved suspense that the film was lacking. The series also transitioned from a male leading role to a female, played by Peyton List. In the film Frequency, Frank Sullivan is portrayed as a firefighter, but in the series Frank is a detective much like his daughter. There was almost no romance in the film, but in the series it is a large part of Raimy’s life that she must fix due to changing the past. The series was an upgrade from the original film and should not have been cancelled as early as it did.
The Sweet Hereafter, directed by Atom Egoyan, is a film about the devastation caused by a bus crash in a small Canadian community that killed many of the town's children. Like many of Egoyan’s works, this film indicates his directorial style by using film techniques that place the audience in the characters shoes. Egoyan uses nonlinear timelines, motifs and music, along with his great use of camera work, mise en scene, and voice over, to present the plot in a way that engages the audience and leaves an impression long after the film has finished. A scene in the film that shows these techniques is the “Deposition Hearing Scene.” This scene is critical to the rest of the film because it helps the viewers understand Nicole’s character and how she feels towards her father. By having Nicole lie about the bus crash, Nicole is released from the abusive power of her father, Sam. In this scene, at first, Nicole seems vulnerable, but as the scene continues, the audience and character's views of her change.
