All the students in the the state of Ohio who attend high school have to take the Air Tide test. The Air Tide test allows you to take seven different subjects. Each test you take the maximum amount of points you can receive is a five. The requirement to graduate is an amount of 18 points. Each test has two sections that must be completed to get an average score. I believe that the Air Tide test is a waste of time. I think that taking a test on the computer is not as proficient, as taking a test with a pencil and paper. From My personal point of view, I would choose the old fashioned way any day over all of the high-tech items. When you take a test on a computer you can not interact with your work. What do I mean when i say
All students were required to administer the WJ III COG 4 times, first to a classmate, and then 3 more times to volunteers. The first administration for each student was not considered for the study, which produced 108 testing administrations. These administrations and scores were then examined by advanced level graduate students taught by the same professor. The instrument used for scoring the administrations was a checklist first created by Schermerhorn and Alfonso, and was designed to record the frequency and types of errors made during the administration and scoring of the test (Ramos, 2009, pp. 653).

opportunities they had not had. "The new promotion rules also provided that workers could meet the high school requirement by achieving minimum scores on two widely used aptitude tests: the Wonderlic Personnel Test and the Bennett Mechanical Composition Test. The minimum scores required for these tests basically corresponded to the scores of the average high school graduate at

These tests use reasoning, analysis, problem solving, and what your previous knowledge of the subject is. It measures the kinds of tasks that college students are expected to learn (http://www.act.org, 2004).
The UC’s require students to take the SAT/ACT, along with a recommended number of two subject tests. The subject
The Every Student Succeeds Act is a reauthorization of the “50-year-old Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA)” . The purpose of the Every Student Succeeds Act is to “provide all children significant opportunity to receive a fair, equitable, and high-quality education, and to close educational achievement gaps.” In order to accomplish this purpose, Federal Government requires that the state test students each year in the grades 3 through 8 and at least once in grades 9 through 12, in the subjects of math and reading or language arts. The Federal Government also requires that states test students “not less than one time” in grades 3 through 5, grades 6 through 9, and grades 10 through 12. This form of standardized testing is to
Having the same test could be good it can help us avoid change and not get confused. There should also be more time spent on testing so we can learn more. Keeping the old test will save money. If we need to we can just add stuff to the old test and save a fortune. Well I say no we need new test and we need less of are time that could be spent learning is being wasted on taking test.We are wasting so much presses time spent on testing and we shouldn't be.We also need to just buy new test and stop being such cheapskates.

Have you ever stopped to wonder why students across the globe must forfeit valuable time in class to take nationally mandated tests? With these dreadful clouds that always seem to be blocking out the light of success, one might stop to wonder. Why? These well-known tests began in the early 1900s, when the S.A.T. made its debut. This test, the Scholastic Assessment Test, was originally used to help the government gauge how schools were handling their educational practices. In the 1940s the test began to hold weight in the academic community as colleges began requiring one’s score before admission. Then in the 1960s, the government began to try to provide more ways to properly grade school districts. For a time, these costly tests worked very well. But now in present day, as times have
The testing at Highlander Academy requires that all students in grade levels 3rd to 10th grade to complete quarterly testing. The school utilizes the ACT Aspire software program to monitor student progress. The use of ACT provides benchmarks for college and career readiness. Testing is inclusive of courses in English, Reading, Mathematics, and Science. The data obtained on each student is used by the teacher and the school to determine progressive readiness in preparation for end of course, EOC and end of grade, EOG tests. In compliance with the state and federal levels all Highlander students in grades three to eighth grade complete an end of grade tests in Mathematics and English Language Arts. The testing for third grade to eighth grade is general and specific to the course of study for the grade level while high school grades are grouped in sets for grades nine through ten and grades eleven through twelve. High school students are required to take EOC testing in Math 1, Biology, and English Language Arts 2. Math 1 is usually taken during the students ninth grade year. The EOC assessment for Biology is given during student’s tenth grade. Last, the English Language Arts 2 assessment occurs during the student’s tenth grade year. These tests may require repeating if the student fails to pass the course the first time. However, while testing is required for all students there remains shifting opinions to the success of
The ACT and SAT are both forms of standardized tests used to show colleges the progress a student has made. The ACT may be considered a broad exam but many students may still choose its opponent. American College Testing was developed to rival the SAT in the 1950s but has it done its job? This question has formed many debates but in the end the student may still choose which they prefer to take. I believe that the chosen test should reflect the subjects a student is strong in.
In America the Bush-era law requires that students in third through eight grades take tests on their reading and math skills, then retest again in high school. Determining the number average of tests that an American student takes can be hard because many
