The currency was soon to be taken out of circulation. Being under the Britain's crown was compared to slavery and women in American society did not have many rights. Women had not rights in any part of the community unless they were widows. Women in the colonies were compared as being a dog on a leash and demanded not to speak a word unless spoken too. The women were fed up because they felt as if they should not even appear in public
The American Revolution caused a change in America that was far greater than just the forming of an independent nation. In the years after the revolution, a government had to be set in place. The new nation was greatly influenced by models of previous governments, including Great Britain and ancient Greece and Rome. Despite the great change in political structure, aspects of social culture were influenced by the revolution as well, especially in the areas of slavery and the status of women.
The American Revolution changed American politically by allowing the people to be governed by representation, a central government, and a state government. Americans wanted a government different from the one of England so they created their own. Document I, informs us from a Federalists point of view that abuses of government must be controlled, the need of control of
The American Revolution changed the american society through social, political, and economic effects from the time period of 1775 to 1800.
The American Revolution changed American society politically, socially, and economically. During the American Revolution, the Americans were split between the two political parties of the Tories and the Whigs, or the Loyalists and Patriots. Patriots wanted to gain independence from Britain. On the other hand, Loyalists did not want to break away from the British.
The American Revolution changed the American society politically in many ways such as drifting away from the Tories and tyranny (Doc. B). Also, the Native Americans were feeling left out. The American Revolution was when the Americans finally gained their independence from Great Britain and the Native Americans felt left out of the independence that the Indians thought was deserved for the Indians (Doc. E).
Thomas Jefferson, writer of the constitution stated “that when any form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government”(Jefferson). The American Revolution did cause change especially in the way government is run in America. Although America struggled at the start, historians argue that it didn’t change the lives of people living in America. The American Revolution did change lives in a different way because, more colonists’ had opportunities, Native Americans’ lives were different, and African American lives changed because of the constitution.
Another reason why the American Revolution was a turning point was that the system of economy changed. Under the control of the British, the colonies were under the system of mercantilism. The colonists would send their natural resources to Britain, then Britain would manufacture them, and finally the Colonists would have to buy the goods back. This allowed the British to make money off the Colonists at their expense. A medal of the Philadelphia Society for the promotion of agriculture depicts a man plowing a field and a woman standing behind him. (Document 4) The audience of this medal was the farmers who were awarded this medal. The point of view of this medal is from the government. The purpose of this medal was to encourage farming and to show that farming was a great profession.
The American Revolution was the most important event to ever take place in this country. This war took place from 1765-1783 and involved Great Britain and the United States of America. Without this revolution, the colonies would have never gained independence from Great Britain and the United States could still be under their control. However, this revolution did not occur without a cause, early Americans fought for independence because of unfair treatment from England. There were many causes to the Revolution including high taxes, unfair laws, and even colonists being killed.
The American Revolution was an important sequence of events over a period of time that has affected early American society up to today’s modern society. It all started with the Revolutionary War, which led to the Declaration of Independence from Britain, and in turn created a reason for America to write the Constitution and develop their own government. Ideas of equality became a major point of the Revolution, and although it wasn’t very quick to happen, ideas eventually spread throughout the colonies, giving the equality that poor to middle classes, African American slaves, and women deserved.
The American Revolution was a very important part of history. Without the Revolution, life as we know it may not have been possible. The American Revolution brought about rights and independence, something that as not always given. Many notable events took place during the War for Independence, but there were three major turning points to look at. These three turning points were the Battle of Trenton in 1776, the Battle of Saratoga in 1777, and the Battle of Yorktown in 1781. These three battles were vital to the victory of the Revolution and the creation of the nation that we have today.
The American Revolution was a war that happened between 1775-1783 where the 13 colonies in America gained independence from Great Britain and became the United States of America. Over time there have been several different historical interpretations about the causes of the American Revolution. Many of these interpretations lack evidence or provide a very one sided claim. The best explanation for the causes of the American Revolution out of the 5 passages provided is “A Democratic Movement” written by Robert Brown because it had the most historical evidence to back the explanation.
The American Revolution is defined as the political turbulence that took place towards the end of eighteenth century when thirteen colonies in America united to attain freedom from the British Empire (Clifford, 2005). The union of the thirteen colonies is now known as the United States of America. According to Clifford (2005), the American Revolution occurred because of a series of political, intellectual, and social transformations in the American government and society, which is known as the American Enlightenment. The American Revolution created a variety of opportunities for the American slaves to attain freedom (Waldstreicher, 2004). Slaves were provided with an opportunity to escape their thralldom by being recruited
