What Was The American Revolution A Turning Point

The American Revolution was a very important part of history. Without the Revolution, life as we know it may not have been possible. The American Revolution brought about rights and independence, something that as not always given. Many notable events took place during the War for Independence, but there were three major turning points to look at. These three turning points were the Battle of Trenton in 1776, the Battle of Saratoga in 1777, and the Battle of Yorktown in 1781. These three battles were vital to the victory of the Revolution and the creation of the nation that we have today.

The American Revolution was the most important event to ever take place in this country. This war took place from 1765-1783 and involved Great Britain and the United States of America. Without this revolution, the colonies would have never gained independence from Great Britain and the United States could still be under their control. However, this revolution did not occur without a cause, early Americans fought for independence because of unfair treatment from England. There were many causes to the Revolution including high taxes, unfair laws, and even colonists being killed.

Following the many policies and taxes being passed in the new world came the American Revolution. It’s by far the sole most important war victory America has ever had. It marked not only freedom and independence from Britain, but it also was a victory for mankind and the age of new thoughts, ideals, and practices. The revolution also established a political structure for America that is still effective today. Great Britain outmatched America both militarily and financially but a combination of events happening in America’s favor precipitated one of the greatest victories in world history.

The American Revolution fundamentally changed American considerably politically because Americans rely on democracy rather than monarchy, socially because the roles of certain social groups experienced a nuance change, and economically because the Americans freed themselves from having to send their raw materials to England and started to manufacture their own products.

It all started with the Revolutionary War, which led to the Declaration of Independence from Britain, and in turn created a reason for America to write the Constitution and develop their own government. Ideas of equality became a major point of the Revolution, and although it wasn’t very quick to happen, ideas eventually spread throughout the colonies, giving the equality that poor to middle classes, African American slaves, and women deserved.

When the revolution began, the people were drowning in jingoism, and after the seven years of fighting for our independence, several changes had to be made. Although some political, social, and economic parts of society seem to have remained the same, America experienced drastic fundamental changes throughout these years and set the standards for even more changes to come.

The American Revolution set the ground work for a major change in the New England colonies. It was a time of significant governmental changes on political and social levels, and a growing ideology on the obedience of a women and the dissolution of slavery.

This allowed the British to make money off the Colonists at their expense. A medal of the Philadelphia Society for the promotion of agriculture depicts a man plowing a field and a woman standing behind him. (Document 4) The audience of this medal was the farmers who were awarded this medal. The point of view of this medal is from the government. The purpose of this medal was to encourage farming and to show that farming was a great profession.

The American Revolution, which occurred approximately from 1765 to 1786, is also known as the American Revolutionary War and the U.S. War of Independence, for good reason. The conflict rose from rising tensions amid the people of Great Britain’s thirteen American colonies and the colonial government, which represented the British crown. Clashes between Britain’s troops and colonial militiamen in Lexington and Concord in April 1775 kicked off the armed conflict, and by the following summer, the rebels were waging a full-scale war for their independence. The American Revolution had tremendous consequences, and was not simply a victory of arms on the battlefield, but also a feat of economic and political ideals, and vital societal changes. This huge period of history set into motion greater changes in American life and created a country, demonstrating just how this revolutionary age in time more than earned its name. This battle of independence waged by the American colonies against Britain influenced political ideas and revolutions around the globe, as a young, largely divided nation won its freedom from the greatest military force of its time.

In the spring of 1777, the British wanted a victory in Saratoga after 2 losses at Trenton and Princeton. There plan was Burgoyne's army would invade Canada and retake Fort Ticonderoga. General Howe's men would meet them on New York. General Burgoyne did his part, but General Howe took his troops away for New York and captured Philadelphia, leaving Burgoyne alone. As Burgoyne's men traveled through the thick forests, he was constantly ambushed by patriot soldiers. As he approached Saratoga he found himself surrounded. In October of 1777, he was forced to surrender to General Horatio Gates. This was significant because this battle was the turning point in the Revolutionary War and it affected the colonists because it was the greatest victory

The American Revolution was a war fought between Great Britain and the American colonies over independence from 1775 to 1783 which resulted in a fundamental change in American politics, society, and economics. The American Revolution began as a result of Great Britain taxing the colonies to cover the debts accumulated through the French and Indian War. While the majority of the colonies stayed loyal to their ‘Mother Land’, some of the colonist felt resentment toward England. Some colonist felt that England had no right to tax the colonies, while they had no representation in parliament. The American Revolution was a long and tenacious war that contained many different complex parts. Many people see the American Revolution as this heroic war that the Patriots gallantly fought and won. Although, that is not the case, the truth is that the Patriots, Americans who wanted their independence from Britain barely survived and lost most of their battles throughout the war. America was very divided during this time with 20% of the population being Loyalists, people who lived in America but were loyal to Britain. The British army was bigger, better supplied, and more experienced, it looked bleak for the Patriots. However, there were major turning points throughout the war that together helped America gain her freedom.
