World War 1 began in 1914 and lasted till 1918. What sparked this war was the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand. This was between Germany, Austria-Hungary, Bulgaria and the Ottoman Empire, who was the Central Powers and Great Britain, France, Russia, Italy, Romania, Japan and the United States, who was the Allied Powers. On the Western side on August 4th, 1914, German went into Belgium. This was the first battle on World War 1, the Germans used their most powerful weapons to capture the city by August 15th, The Germans captured Belgium and then made their way towards France. Both French and British forces fought German within 30 miles of Paris.This caused the Germans back north of the Aisne River, this meant the end of German plans
