Distracted driving is described as the changing of concentration and attention from driving since the driver is interimly absorbed on a person, task, object, or event not associated to driving, which decreases the driver attentiveness, performance and decision-making is hence leading to an amplified risk of an accident. The wide ranges of the activities that distract the drivers have become distinctive in the environment today. The continual modifications in the equipment’s of the modern cars such as entertainment system only increase the chances of the driver be distracted since it arouses his/her curiosity.
The only time a person gets to spend in their car is while driving and since we are all humans, most of the drivers tend to make the driving memorable. The motorist may decide to tune on the music which provides them with the company while driving. It is during such situations that the driver will neglect to follow the regulations of transport such as adhering to the speed limit, (Horrey & William, 2017) however, the drivers have occasionally managed to switch their attention quickly from tuning the music to driving which has led them to grow the belief they can multitask. But this is far from reality as neither of the actions performed receives the optimal attention required to effectively execute an action.
