In early single story the character is one of the most important parts of the story. The character brings many emotions to the story. Without the character showing some emotion some emotion in the story, the story would come out dull boring and not interesting. A character can be many things. They can be tables, spoons, animals and the list goes on. Some of the things that the character does is they can impact the reader's point of view, and help the reader feel connected with the character. In this story the creature's point of view impacted how the reader understands and relates to him by many ways. One of the ways the creature impacted the reader was through his own words. The creature which is a character said a lot of things. The
Another very well used literary device in this story is personification. Personification is when an inanimate object is given human attributes. In the specific instance
has had a very good start to his life and he has been spoilt beyond
“His yellow skin scarcely covered the work of muscles and arteries beneath; his hair was of a lustrous black, and flowing; his teeth of a pearly whiteness; but these luxuriances only formed a more horrid contrast with his watery eyes, that seemed almost of the same colour as the dun-white sockets in which they were set, his shrivelled complexion and straight black lips” (Shelley 58). This quote is from the book Frankenstein, by Mary Shelley. It is a horror story and is about a man, Victor Frankenstein, who builds a creature. This creature first starts off quiet, not knowing much about the world or life itself. But, over the course of the story he then begins to change, after experiencing what the real world is actually like. The monster of
There is a dominating narrative that all men are created equal and are guaranteed inalienable human rights; however, history suggests time and time again that those rights are easily infringed upon. Throughout history, there is a human universal of groups persecuted by their society and the people who are supposed to protect them. In the 19th century Romantic Era, a time where nature and beauty were valued, those who were lacking of beauty were ostracized for trying to participate in a society that rejected them. In Frankenstein, even Victor could not accept the creature he made with his own two hands. On the other end of the spectrum, those graced with beauty were seen as nothing more but their looks.
This proves he is a very curious animal because the author used direct characterization to tell us. There love made him stay and be curious. All this shows he is a very curious character. Nagaina, another character in the story is vicious and protective.
In the world of horror, we find ourselves faced with different types of monsters. We have the imaginative monster, which affects the reader and the protagonists' minds. We also have the literal monster, a creation by the author to strike fear and hatred into the hearts of the reader, something that literally destroys everything around it. And this is what we encounter in Mary Shelley's Frankenstein: a literal monster that wreaks havoc all around him.
Frankenstein, written by Mary Shelley, is a story about a character named Victor Frankenstein who decides that he is going to try and create life by using collected body parts from people and animals that have passed away. He actually succeeds and creates who is know as the “Frankenstein.” This would be the giant, green guy, with bolts in the side of his temples that you see on halloween. Most people, when they think of Frankenstein, they think of him as a scary monster, which is true in a lot of ways. He created that name for himself in some ways, but just the way he looked mad people feel that way instantly anyways.
One of the STEAL traits that can be found used in the text would be speech. This is the way or language that a character uses to convey thoughts to either the reader or other characters in the text. For example, the language that the creature uses such as, “My heart was fashioned for love and sympathy, but it was changed to vice and hatred, and the change was torture.”, portrays just how devastated the creature has become while reflecting on his experiences in the world. He was a kind being forced to become a recluse due to the prejudiced nature of man. This excerpt is just one of many
4. Give an example of characterization. How does the author convey to you who this character is, what they do, what they are about, etc.? (Your answer should be at least 50 words
When one is born, they have no experiences, no lessons learned, and no opinions or prejudice. Their slate is clean, emulating the idea of tabula rasa. In the novel Frankenstein, by Mary Shelley, a Monster was brought into the world to experience nothing but hate and fear. The Monster was rejected by society and cast into the world alone. Victor Frankenstein was the creator of this creature but did little to assist the creatures acclimation to society. He should have assisted the beast in becoming welcomed into the world, but instead he pushed the Monster away from learning social graces to fit in. If done differently, the Monster should have opened doors in the scientific world and helped people learn a lot about life itself. The differences that could have been put into place on this creature's life would include showing love towards him, letting people know who he

Frankenstein by Mary Shelley did get me thinking, but I’m not sure it was the most mysterious plot. Most things were very predictable and I had a hard time getting into the story. For the most part I think that the common phrase “Frankenstein was the real monster” isn’t exactly true. The monster killed William, an innocent boy, just to exact revenge upon his creator which is just evil. I do think that by creating the monster and fearing it Frankenstein started its life with disadvantages and from that beginning it grew to hate after being shunned wherever it went, however I believe those murders and misdeeds were out of its own moral, one is understandable given the copious amounts of fear it probably possessed but to frame an innocent servant
In the concept from the story we can relate to the story throughout the character point of view of the creatures observations and actions that were significantly about the cottagers.
By putting himself in his own story as a character, the narrator takes a step beyond his traditional role to become a part of the character’s worlds and act, as the characters would act. Being a character, he is forced to accept that he does not know what the other
