Road to Success
We all want to be successful, but there are certain attributes and traits that you need to achieve success either at school or work. Most of them are essential to achieve and as important as like doing what you love and loving what you do.
Most people have certain traits that lead them to success in almost everything that is proposed to them. If we want to learn from them we need to have in mind aspects like passion. To obtain success we need to work hard. If we’re a college student or dedicate most of our time working we need to enjoy what we do to make it fun. Most people inject passion into what they do which motivates them into aiming and achieving success. Passion gives them a purpose, its like if you were to be fighting for something that you want and will benefit you.
Patience is one of the traits that takes part in a person’s success. Nowadays most people are impatient when it comes to having to wait in line for their food order or when being in a long line waiting to be checked out at a cash register, out of all those people waiting a majority of them leave. In the end, those people don’t get what they want due to their impatience. If everything were to be easy and came quickly then every single person would be successful right now. All good things will come with time and patience.
Resilience is one of the most crucial attributes to achieve success. We as college students always come across difficult circumstances. If you’ve failed in something and
Patience is a virtue and a necessity for happiness, it makes us better people. And enables us to accept any circumstances, it also helps us to tolerate delay. Without patience we all
Many people have different ways to accomplish their goals which depends on their experiences and struggles in life. They can use these experiences and struggles and turn them into wisdom, and they become determined to accomplish these goals no matter what obstacles stand in their way. For example, Ernesto was determined to learn how to be an American, but to never forget that he was truly a Mexican. The “Apollo 13” crew was determined to fix a problem in their spaceship by using their knowledge. In both situations, confidence and determination was needed to face challenges, but with teamwork, they acheived success on these missions.
My philosophy of success is simply being content with your life. To me personality, I still do not know what contentment is to me and that's fine. I can guess it is being independent, with a job I am passionate about and surrounded by people that truly care about me. Success is finding that point in life that, if things stayed like how they are at this moment then it would be alright. I'm not saying to stop improving yourself or that after that point nothing bad or better will happen. People should always try to improve themselves and in reality, bad things will always happen at one point. Therefor my philosophy is to work towards that feeling of contentment. It
People have learned to be resilient in order to overcome serious hardships. A person’s resilience can be seen through how they handle bad experiences; to be resilient in the face of adversity. People who never give up and always fight back even when it gets hard are resilient. Some believe that resilience is a trait that can be learned.
I feel that in order to achieve personal success in our society you need 3 key things. For one, you need to have determination. In our culture, we seem to have a universal ideology along the lines of “keep going, and you will succeed eventually.” I feel that these idea’s are incredibly true, and have been shown to be effective every time. A good example of this trait in one of the texts we read is in the Odyssey when Odysseus needed to get back home, and despite the odds being against him, he never gave up. He always kept going, and when the going got rough, he got back right up and started over again. Another trait is intelligence. Because we have gone away from warrior culture in modern times, academic success is more than mandatory to achieve
In order to build up resilience, a student must learn to support themselves and seek support from others. A student that supports themselves can lead themselves into a better future because they are learning through experience. For example, Lori in The Glass Castle wanted to get out of West Virginia and move to New York. She was tired of living in a house that had no food, no running water, and was falling apart. Lori believed that she could save enough money for herself so that she could go live in New York. Unfortunately, her father took the money that they earned to move to New York. An unexpected opportunity opened up for Jeannette that would get her sister out of West Virginia (Walls 218). They both got jobs to support the destination they were planning to go. This shows that when a student supports themselves they can accomplish the goals that they have set for themselves, like how Lori and
If you would like to live a happy and more so, successful life, it is vital that you learn to express gratitude wherever you go. In order to reach where you would like to be in life, everyone should concentrate on their goals and objectives. Through expressing gratitude, people can learn to show good deeds, and hence be able to receive the same goodness, in return. (Radwan, Msc.) Gratitude refers to the act of being thankful, noticing simple pleasures, counting every little blessing, and acknowledging every good done unto you. In other terms, it can be described as living life as if everything happening in it is a miracle, and being able to continuously acknowledge every much you receive. On the other hand, when people decide to concentrate a lot of energy on bad things in life, it will make them remain in the state of conflict. But by developing gratitude, it will allow someone to focus on positivity and the good things in life. It must be understood that this will allow an individual to always remain optimistic, and with enthusiasm much success can be achieved.
For years now, many students have thought “How do I grow up too be successful?” but the truth here is that the people asking this, don't know what success really means to them. Accomplishment can be defined in a variety of ways, such as the amount of money a person makes, how happy an individual is by themselves, or even achieving in the simple things in life. You can, however, gain the characteristics needed to be successful in the future, for example, patience, determination, and a straight mindset. Accidental effects can also come into play, for instance dumb luck that can happen to anybody and the wealth gap between the person or the school they attend. These are just three of the most important traits a scholar must have in order to get somewhere in their future of education and in life down the path they may take.
“Resilience has been defined as an attitude that enables the individual to examine, enhance, and utilized the strengths, characterizes and other resources available to him or her” (Harrington, 2012, p. x). Based on the history of resilience, it has been determined why people may overcome quickly than others. Also, has been describe as bouncing back, which happens according to such struggles, and adaption’s
For example, in “Follow Your Passions and Success will Follow” it says, “We are all enthusiastic and passionate about something, whether it’s finance, food or a favorite sport, that enthusiasm is very powerful. When we can combine it with our work, we are setting ourselves up well for achieving true” (Alhanati). What makes us have a passion is all the enthusiasm and excitement that we put into that passion, and we know it’s what we want to do as a living and it makes us study and work hard to get to that point.
Most people possess all the qualities they will ever need to be successful. In fact, the only qualities that an individual need for success are directly associated with one’s true passion in life. The key is to dig deep enough to find the true passion.
Resilience is the epitome of overcoming the unexpected and achieving one’s goals no matter what may stand in your way.In the story “Through The Tunnel” by Doris Lessing, the author reveals that when one perseveres, they can meet their goals and overcome adversity. She says “One, Two, Three. He counted steadily. He could hear the movement of blood in his chest. Fifty-one, Fifty-two...His chest was hurting. He let go of the rock and went up into the air...On the day before they left, He would do it. He would do it if it killed him, he said defiantly to himself.” When the boy says he
Do you ever wonder how two people can have the same intention and try the same things yet only one of them succeed? Is it sheer luck? Could it be their tenacity? Routinely you'll find it's a person's mind-set or attitude that establishes their success or failure.
There is more to Resilience than just being able to get over a hardship it is also having the ability to work hard even when you want to quit. This other ingredient of resilience is just as important to being successful as the first aspect. In the video clip with Will Smith he says “The guy who is willing to work hard will be the most successful.” There is no other way to put it. If you work hard and show resilience when you need to you will become successful in life. Angela Duckworth also says in her video clip "Grit is Living life like a marathon not a sprint." This quote concedes with this aspect of resilience because to demonstrate it you have to continually give all your effort not just when it convenient to.
When you find your passion, you’ll feel like you have a whole new reason for life and that you need to do everything you can to reach your goals. Through the ups and downs of your pursuit, passion will always be there to remind you why you are doing these things and help you to visualize the successful outcome at the end. You need this passion to truly feel and understand the meaning of life.
