According to Merriam-Webster dictionary wisdom is the ability to discern inner qualities in relation to insight. In relation to judgement it is good sense. Although it is defined this way in the dictionary the bible describes it differently. The bible describes wisdom differently in each of the Wisdom Books also known as the Ketuvim in Judaism. The Wisdom Literature Books are Job, Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, and Song of Solomon. These books contain wisdom and instructions for life also known as commonly called wisdom literature. In the bible the aim of wisdom is how to live a successful life and the knowledge that produces human success. This wisdom is for the individual instead of a nation as a whole. Wisdom is introduced as a person and not a thing; as a gift from God to humanity.
Compared to other books in the bible Job is a book with less scriptures on wisdom. Job 28 tells us where wisdom comes from. It describes how we know where everything comes from besides wisdom and how its something not easily accessible. “God alone knows the way to Wisdom, he knows the exact place to find it……. He focused on Wisdom, made sure it was all set and tested and ready. Then he addressed the human race: Here it is! Fear of the Lord-that’s Wisdom, and Insight means shunning evil.” (23:27-28) In these verses it describes how God is the created wisdom and he’s the only one that can give it.
