The Community
The laws of the government and regulations of the state should be followed accordingly. There will be equal opportunities for everyone throughout their lifetime as long as they meet the requirements for those opportunities. People who qualify and will do the best for the community will head the community. The society is based on free will as long as the rules are followed and no one is harmed. The rules and regulations set are to protect the people of the society in order for a safe and harmonious community. Having a harmonious community requires equal opportunities for everyone. What is meant by equal opportunities is that everyone will have a chance to work, to go to school, to vote, etc., without worrying about

The idea of the separate woman and man could be minimal if equal opportunities are given and the community makes it more of an equal world. Keeping the community in order requires official people to make rational decisions for the good of the people and to get the community involved with some decisions. The community's government will make the decisions, but the people have the right to question them if they are unjust. The government of the community will consist of twelve people. There will be ten representatives which all of the propositions go through and two head representatives that make the final decisions. The public votes on the ten representatives who fit the qualifications, concentrating on who will best serve the people. The two head representatives must also fit the qualifications and are voted on by the ten representatives. The main purpose of the government, as noted in Thomas Jefferson's "The Declaration of Independence", is to protect the rights of the people. He believes that everyone has the rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Jefferson also believed that the people have the right to alter or abolish anything that they feel is a violation of their deserved rights. The government is not established to just be higher beings, but to keep the community in harmony, make sure the people's rights are protected, and to see that justice is served to the best of their ability. The United States and its people are governed by the central force of the government. However, even though the government has been around for centuries, there are those that are still arguing about the purpose of the government. These people include presidents, senators, newscasters, and even the regular people of the United States. The Great man and second president of the United States, Thomas Jefferson once states, “The care of human life and happiness, and not their destruction, is the first and only object of good government.” Through the quote, it can be found that Thomas Jefferson believed the purpose of the government is to protect the lives of the people and ensure their happiness. Thomas Jefferson was right when saying that one of the purposes of government is to protect the people, however, protecting the people isn’t all the government does. The purpose of government is to ensure the protection of the people, their rights, and to establish justice for those who need it.
This paper will give insight into the different views of three different philosophers with a never-ending struggle to keep a balance between the community and the Individual. By explaining their views he/she will find different definitions from the philosophers on how to live as an individual under a ruler and how a good citizen should be characterized. For example in Antigone a good citizen would not have gone against the law and buried their sibling in one of the philosopher eyes, but in another’s it made Antigone find happiness so the deed would be cleared and would make it ok.
When looking up the definition of a government it says, “the governing body of a nation, state, or community”(dictionary.com). This helps to understand it a bit more, but what is the purpose of a government. Government has many purposes that keep its people safe and protected, this includes to establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity. Living Learning Communities facilitate learning, growth, and friendship. LLCs seek students who are dedicated and motivated. Personally, I am both; throughout high school, I have worked hard and studied hard. I maintained a high GPA while participating in theatre almost every day after school. Indeed, I was able to take rigorous Advanced Placement courses along with dual enrollment engineering course while helping to run my school’s theatre company, Lymlight Production. I plan to continue both this hard work while at USF. Thus, living in an LLC will help me meet my goals.
The Declaration of Independence was created to make sure everybody was equal. All men are created equal. Government is upholding the principles of the Declaration of Independence.
You see, in the American colonies, we believe that the purpose of government is to protect the citizens that live here. As stated before, Locke determined that the purpose of government is to protect life, liberty and property. In chapter IX, he gave us the basic concept of government. “First, there wants an established, settled, know law, received and allowed by common consent to be the standard of right and wrong, and the common measure to decide all controversies between them (P. 124). progression of a society. People should be given the freedom to make their own choices and follow them through without any reluctance or fear that they will be penalized. Of course, the freedom of thought and expression also comes with a condition, which is, that those thoughts and expressions should not become a nuisance for others. In other words, those thoughts and expressions should not have adverse affect for others.
I believe that Jefferson feels that the function of government is to serve the people. Whatever things the people need or demand the government should be able to provide and/or offer its people. The very reason we have man-made governments is to protect our natural rights, not to interfere with them. The power and authority governments have are given with the people's consent and limited to their protection. The people elect the government because the people believe that those in power will be adequate enough to take care of
When you think of an ideal community there are a few things that must be in line in order for it to be perfect. One of which is equality. Back in 1776 equality meant that all white men that owned land were considered equal, but today that means everyone from blacks to white to men and women and everyone in between are to be treated

In Brave New World people lives were different and they had different believes they were not allowed to feel emotion because as the Director said emotions are unstable. They were conditioned to think the way their world is formed is perfect, but actually it isn't. Emotions could be unstable, but is better to feel them instead of being an inhumane person that doesn't feel anything. People have to paid a price that they didn't choose and that is unjust for them because they have to take what is giving to them.
Many people do not care about where they come from. Many people are selfish with their time and effort, but not me I do care about where I came from and I devote most of my time and effort to make many people happy. I try my hardest to do the right thing and to give back when I know I should. Giving back to my community is an important thing to me. People should care and protect about their communities. Three reasons why giving back to my community is important to me is because my community has done so much for me, I take so much pride in where I am from, and because I want people to see how wonderful my community is.
The world is a complicated place and today's standards of society make it even more difficult to live and act in one's own way. I sometimes wonder what life would be like if we could start all over and build a brand new society - a society that guarantees social justice for all groups and full rights to every individual. Would there be a way to make everything and everyone equal? From the beginning society has been judgmental in one way or another, rather it is through racism, sexism, or classicism. There has always been a group of people who declared themselves righteous above all others and if one was not a part of this group he or she was discriminated against simply for not being the same as the dominating group.
