“Do you know what kind of bird this is?” I asked the woman behind the counter of the pet store. I had managed to hitchhike to Halifax with a stranger. I had a hard time explaining what I was wearing, and why I was wearing it in the middle of nowhere, but he seemed fine with my pathetic excuses. “Could I get a better look at it?” I passed her the bird, “It looks like a tufted titmouse.” “What kind of food does it eat?” I asked. “How did you get this bird to follow you?” “I don’t know. It was injured, so I nursed it back to health.” “That’s rather strange. You must have a hint of magic, eh?” I flinched when she said ‘magic’, she had no idea. “Yeah I guess. What does it eat though? I’m going to take care of it so I need to feed it.” “These little guys usually like sunflower seeds. Try aisle 4.” “Thank you.” I said, holding out my hand for Adrian to jump into. I walked to aisle 4, which was stocked with various brands of bird seed. Most of them were blends of different kinds of seeds, but I managed to find a bag of plain sunflower seeds. Adrian seemed rather happy about the prospect of food. I walked up to the register, made my purchase, and headed outside. The snow was still falling outside, but the wind was blowing harshly. I crossed the street to get some food for myself. My bus wasn’t due to show up for about two hours, so I decided to walk around for a bit. It was a little hard to see through the flurries, but I managed to
One weekend, my friend Hannah and I wanted to go on a quad ride during the night. It was during the summer and we were at Hannah’s house and we were bored. So we thought it would be a good idea to go for a ride, so we asked her step dad if we could and he said yes. We both thought it would be super fun to go for a quad ride. So, we get all geared up in proper clothing because it was cold out and off we went.
If memory serves me correctly I had just left class and walked to the mess hall for supper. There I came across a group of friends, and they were buzzing about going to some old abandoned school somewhere outside of town. Before long they approached me with the prospect of joining them. An offer which I could not help but accept with excitement. After supper I hurried to my room and gathered anything I would need for this expedition. We loaded up into two vehicles and proceeded to drive out of town in the dark of night.
“Yes?” He turned to look at her, although he didn’t look directly at her, more at the creature she was holding.
Another time, we were coming back from the U.P. fair in Escanaba at around midnight when we ran out of gas just near the crossroads. We ended up calling my uncle who
My uber had this basic car, a black Toyota Corola. I went on my phone for a little while in the car, but I got bored. So I started talking with the driver. His name was Ethan, he seemed pretty nice but didn’t like talking too much. As we drove by the pond in Central Park I wondered where the ducks went in the winter. There are never any ducks around there in the winter. I thought Ethan might know.
I planned on catching a train and get off near an airport. I had a fake ID and passport that I was going to use. The train was going to leave in about a hour so if I am going to make it I have to leave now. I grabbed my bag filled with old food and torn up clothing and slung it over my shoulders. I peeked around the corner of the beaten down building and made a run for
Once we crossed the river, there was a very steep hill ahead of us, but we weren't prepared for it. The wagon was way too heavy to pull up the hill so I decided to dump some of our things before we climbed the hill to reduce the weight. Our spare tire was the heaviest thing that we had at
My dad and I had to move to lower ground, because it was too windy to fly our $15 kite from Walmart. In order to do so we had to walk down a hill, which most people are capable of. I, on the other hand, am not most people. I was walking down this hill, and it had rained the day before so it was a little muddy. Nothing too bad, or so I thought. I was holding the cheap kite when my dad started talking to me from the bottom of the hill. I couldn’t quite make out what he was trying to tell me, so I started to walk down the hill faster. My knees buckled a little and I had to dig my heels into the ground to not fall. Wow, close one Lucy, I thought.
My friend Mason’s Mom took me and Mason to Cedar Point at nine in the morning. We had to drive over a long bridge to get there. We saw signs with funny jokes on them. By the time we got there it was packed we finally found a parking spot.
My first story was when we were making a two hour ride home from a dance competition in
There were points where we were only going 20 mph on the interstate. We braved the storm and did not stop once. Our minds were too set on the hopes and dreams of spring break. After making it through two states worth of driving 20 mph in a snow storm we were a bit behind schedule in meeting our friend at his place in Florida. However, we were still much ahead of the rest of our group who had just left Indiana. As we entered the sunshine state we called Jake to see where we needed to go from there. He gave us some directions as he took shots in a bar which made us skeptical as to how accurate his directions were in the first place. Although we were unsure of the accuracy of the directions given to us by our drunken friend we took the roads we were told to take.
In order to use my passion of animals to help, I want to volunteer at friendship pet pantry, anti cruelty society and write a blog informing the public about pit bulls. I can help friendship pet pantry by collecting donations in a donation bin. I will be in charge of 2 business and will have the responsibility of checking in with them, 3-4 times during this project session. I can help anti cruelty society by donating money They need more pet food, and cat food of a certain brand. In the donation boxes, they don’t always get what they need though. This way, I think I can give them what they need. I will have a bake sale, in order to earn this money. Writing the blog can help pit bulls. Many home insurance companies will not insure your house
Deli, a neighborhood grocery and lunch counter on Elm Street, is owned by David Duncan. Mr. Duncan wants to buy Lot 51 which is located behind Deli and beside the Blue Boutique, a clothing showroom. Six years ago Mr. Jones sold the current Deli lot to Duncan and also offered Lot 51 for 6000 dollars. Because of budget constraints Duncan could not afford Lot 51. Presently, Duncan has fair amount of budget and wants to buy Lot 51 so as to provide parking space for his customers. I represent Duncan and Dan represents Mr. Jone’s agent and we met to settle the price of Lot 51 with a fair agreement. The negotiation between Dan and David is elaborated. This paper will discuss various factors that contribute to a successful negotiation. Following which it will emphasize on the skills required to become a good negotiator. Lastly, an outcome of insights gained and their importance is postulated.
I noticed, through the window, that it had begun snowing again, wind was picking up. I
One Thursday evening, I was with my boyfriend and his family at Buffalo Wild Wings. We were having a good time talking about life, upcoming birthdays and school. Everyone in the restaurant was enjoying their meal and having a conversation with their loved ones. Minutes before leaving, I decided to go to the restroom to wash my hands and put some lipstick on. We were planning on watching a movie after we ate.
