Basically, the process of cloning healthy cells could be used as an aid in replenishing damage of unhealthy cells. This process, if it were to be actualized, could help recovery progress in anything from pulled muscles to the paralysis of an entire limb. In theory, the same research can be applied in other areas. If this technology is paired with stem cell research, it could result in a method of repairing physical damage. An article that focused on advances in biotechnology stated that “Another use of cloned stem cells could be the growth of replacement tissues in the laboratory” (LaPensee 15). Necrosis, apoptosis, and lymphocyte diapedesis all cause tissue damage or death. These tissues could be replaced by cloned cells of healthy tissues. This shortens recovery periods and leads to healthier tissue growth.

Cloning was declared a massive step in science revolution. Many people believe cloning is wrong and against humanity. They feel as though it devalues humans and may cause segregation. Cloning is a generic term that describes the fabrication of a biological material with the same genetic makeup as that of the original or copied material. Mammalian cloning has its benefits, such as the eradication of defective genes (gene cloning), the use of cloning as an alternative infertility treatment (reproductive cloning), and the provision of a companion of sorts (therapeutic cloning). However, recent statistics show that sixty percent proclaim it is morally wrong to clone animals and eighty-one percent state it is unacceptable to clone humans. Why?

In other words, cloning is a method of producing a child who has exactly the same genes or parent. I take an egg and remove the nucleus that contains DNA genes. Then take DNA from an adult cell and placed in the egg, the adult cell is merged with the enucleated egg, or by a sophisticated nuclear transfer. Then the egg is stimulated electrically or chemically reconstructed and try to make it to divide and become an embryo. However, many groups have used a broader definition of cloning. They include production of tissues and organs by increasing cell or tissue cultures, with current production of embryos. This occurs by creating stem cells. When an egg / ovum is fertilized and begins dividing, stem cells are all alike. As cells divide, some cells differentiate and become stem cells that produce specific tissues and then organs. We must understand that cloning does not produce an exact copy of the person cloned. What cloning does is create a habitat in which a cell can copy itself and create a duplicate DNA/genes. Copying a human’s DNA can potentially be a means of reproducing for a couple that may not be able to have children. On the other hand, copying a human’s DNA can take away the individuality of a person. Although I am always taking into account other individual’s perspectives, human cloning is something that I feel is unjust. Human cloning is one of the most controversial topics regarding modern science, and the advances of genealogical study. There are many opposing views on the topic. Many people chose to bring things such as human safety, implications on basic morality, and even the violation of things such as religion and nature itself into the debate. Cloning cannot be tolerated in society anywhere, not because of the ramifications on the individual countries and their cultures, but more importantly because of the mental state that a clone would inevitably have to cope with. The ability to clone humans is in essence the ability to steal a piece of someone’s individuality, which we have already closely associated as being a prime evil. These individuals argue that cloning can and should be used for medical purposes, and can also provide nations with accessible clones to do “dirty jobs” or participate in the military forces in order to benefit the country. Advanced research in reproductive cloning can reduce the suffering of individuals on many different levels, it can also have negative effects on the children who are being cloned. When a parent decides to clone a child due to the death of the original, the child can experience psychological harm. The parent may strive to have the clone be just like the child that they lost and have a sense of disappointment when those expectations are not realized. The parent can put too much pressure on the child to be like their previous counterpart and constantly remind the clone of what the original accomplished. Having the same genes doesn’t mean that it will become identical to the original (Glannon, 2005).

The first problem that human cloning encounter is it is one of unethical processes because it involves the alteration of the human genetic and human may be harmed, either during experimentation or by expectations after birth. “Cloning, like all science, must be used responsibly. Since human cloning deals with human life, it said to be unethical if people are willing to killed embryo or infant to produce a cloned human and advancing on it. The probability of this process is successful is also small because the technology that being used in this process is still new and risky.
