I initially chosen the movie Guardians of the Galaxy so I can elaborate on what is my favorite superhero film of all time. Being highly rated among other superhero movies, as well as containing an indie vibe, it happens to contain many aspects of film that creates a marvelous movie. Guardians of the Galaxy is an innovative movie in the superhero genre, because it has quirky story, but it somehow brings crazy comedy, middle-aged music, and of course the action-packed fun. I believe this film was a revolutionary idea in the genre and industry. From special effects to music, Guardians of the Galaxy packs a punch with the elements and techniques of a great production, which is why I chose to write about it. I was very confident in choosing Guardians of the Galaxy due to the film aspects of sound, special effects, and the narrative.

Written in the late 1800’s, Joseph Conrad’s Heart of Darkness is a novella about one man’s travel into the Congo Free State by way of the Congo River. The title “Heart of Darkness” actually holds two different meanings. Heart of Darkness is both a metaphor for a psychological “dark side” of man, and an allusion to Africa. The title suggests both a physical and mental reference.
1. Does Conrad really "otherize," or impose racist ideology upon, the Africans in Heart of Darkness, or does Achebe merely see Conrad from the point of view of an African? Is it merely a matter of view point, or does there exist greater underlying meaning in the definition of racism?
Stephen King’s Under the Dome presents a unique story that is both thought provoking and entertaining. The introduction of the dome creates compelling social dynamics that would otherwise not have been possible. In many ways the dome is a microcosm of earth complete with its own conflicts, environmental disasters, and just about every social issue imaginable. The alien entities were equally thought provoking. From their perspective humans were nothing more than ants to be toyed with. They had no empathy or compassion, only pity. Julia Shumway’s interaction with the entity causes an introspective evaluation on how we treat other people.
After NASA’s moon landing among other achievements during the Space Race, many Americans yearned to explore the depths of the unknown Universe. From quasars to brown dwarf stars, there are many wonders that the universe holds for the human race if we decide to leap into the exploration of the universe. Some may believe that reaching for the stars is too costly. However, the exploration of space is within our grasp, and by increasing NASA’s funding, we are able to reach them. So yes, we should fund our space administration in order for us to reach the stars.
The Dark Tower is a series of stories that follow the main character, Roland "The Last Gunslinger", as he travels across a harsh desert on a mission to find the "man in black". His mission is to make it safely to the Tower in order to save himself and the very existence of the universe. The entire series revolves around the tower and how essential it is. The tower is a central point where different planes of existence merge and if Roland doesn't make it there before it gets destroyed then everything else will be destroyed along with it. In the first book of the series, Roland wanders into a small town while looking for a place to rest and possibly sleep for a while. Although he doesn't do anything alarming
In every epic journey there are a series of events which the hero must go through if he is to become the ultimate hero. One of the most important parts in the epic journey is the descent into darkness or hell. Hell is a place where the hero travels to a dark place to learn about himself or to find very key information about his quest. However there is one common theme. The theme is the hero learns some valuable lessons. He or she learns how the underworld helps him to achieve the symbolic death and rebirth. The epic hero must go through his journey alone to hell because he/she must learn to suffer. The hero emerges from this experience and becomes the ultimate hero. In this discussion the reader will learn about how does the hero suffer, how he becomes a good hero through symbolic death and rebirth and why must the hero travel to the underworld alone. There are epic heroes who experience a descent into darkness in all of our books; Watership Down, The Dark is Rising Series, Epic of Gilgamesh and the Odyssey. However there will be a few characters being discussed. They are Gilgamesh (Epic of Gilgamesh), Odysseus (The Odyssey) and Bigwig (Watership Down).
J.D.Salinger’s the Catcher in the Rye is a classic American novel. The novel is based in the time period of the 1950’s. It’s a first person telling of a teenage boys life after his brother passes away and he is kicked out of his fourth school. Not wanting to attend school anymore with a bunch of “phonies” he decides to have himself a little vacation before returning home to his parents. On his night out on the town he acts the way a teenager would act when alone with a good sum of dough. He goes to a couple of bars and successfully gets drinks, buys his own room at a hotel to stay in for the night, even hires a prostitute. The reason behind all of his rebellion and getting kicked out of school is simply because he’s lonely and depressed. The
The reflection of the uncreated in the created necessarily presents itself under diverse aspects, and even under an indefinite variety of aspects, each of which has about it something whole and total, so that there are a multiplicity of visions of the cosmos, all equally possible and legitimate in so far as they spring from the universal and immutable principles.
A specific example of subjection in the movie version of Fifty Shades of Gray is when Anastasia enters Christians “Playroom” for the first time. The room is full of sexual toys used in Bondage sex. It is here, that Christian outlines to Anastasia the sexual roles each of them will play during the bondage. He expresses to Anastasia that he is the “dominant”; thus, he has full control and power over her, whilst she must play the “submissive”, the one receiving the sex. Furthermore, he outlines that because this is bondage there is no romance, and that being the submissive she must not touch or make eye contact with him. Anastasia’s job is to solely focus on the pain she will feel throughout her body. Ultimately, she becomes distressed by all
