Humans Affecting Earth Global Warming is a big topic in today’s world, and many people aren’t aware of the damages they are causing the planet. Global warming endangers our health, jeopardizes our national security, and threatens our basic human needs. Some impacts such as record high temperatures, rising seas, severe flooding and droughts are already becoming increasingly common. Although some people do not think they are causing global warming; I am here to let them know that the majority of global warming’s causes falls in the lap of the human race. People cause global warming every day by doing the many things they do daily. The main cause of global warming is the pollution people are putting in the atmosphere every day. This pollution happens each day from people driving cars, and the carbon dioxide that these cars put off. There are many ways to prevent this, and a lot of scientists are starting to make people more aware with the research and the facts that they are finding. Scientists are also starting to try to get people on their side by creating documentations to present their facts and findings to the public. “The National Center for Atmospheric Research” said this, “Many people don’t realize that we are committed right now to a significant amount of global warming and sea level rise…the longer we wait to do something about it, the more change we will have.”(Meehl) To start off first let’s get a better understanding of what global warming is from a
“Scientists’ overwhelming conclusion is that climate change is happening and human activity is the primary culprit,” (“Climate Change”). The world we live in is falling apart more and more every day. Pollution; Global Warming; Climate Change; These are all problems that caused by people who have come forward in recent years, one of the biggest issues is climate change. The United States government needs to take aggressive steps to combat climate change because scientist have warned that if the climate changing progresses at its current rate, it could have disastrous consequences for life on Earth. Data shows that climate change is linked to rising sea levels, droughts, an increase in the risk of extinction of many species, and the increase in severe storms. With all the issues that are connected to climate change we are not doing enough to try to counteract the lasting effects it has on our environment.
Global warming is one of the most tumultuous topics in today’s society. Some believe it is happening as we speak, while others question its very existence, So, is it real, or is merely a hoax? There is no one answer, but evidence does overwhelmingly support the former. Surely we have all heard this word at one time or another, but few individuals actually know its true definition. Justifiably, however, global warming is not that simply explained. In layman’s terms, it is the dramatic increase in the Earth’s average air and ocean temperature since the 20th century. This increase is primarily attributed to two main culprits: the greenhouse effect and human activity, such as fossil fuel burning. In both cases, carbon dioxide (CO2) is the
Global warming is the steady heating of Earth’s land, oceans, and atmosphere caused primarily by human activity. Climate change is one of the world’s biggest challenges right now, from people actively arguing that it doesn’t exist- to other’s who don’t care enough to do anything about it. There’s evidence showing that climate change is happening and affecting our world now and from what it seems, if action isn’t taken, major consequences will soon arise. Most of the world’s land mass has experienced a 0.2-1.0 degree Celsius average temperature increase since the 1970s, the temperatures of the Artic has increased at almost twice the mean global rate. Climate change is caused by human factors such as greenhouse gases and ozone depletion and because humans are so dependent on fossil fuels in their day to day lives, the issue at hand is only going to get worse.
Climate change is something that affects us all as a human race, and we need to do something about it immediately. Ultimately, climate change is dangerous and upon us more than we realize. While there are some individuals who don't believe it exists at all, there are some who simply believe it is not caused by humans on this planet. My goal for this paper is to make aware the dangers that climate change poses to our planet and the human race. While doing this, I hope to provide fact-based evidence that supports the claim that we, as humans, cause the dangerous phenomena that is climate change and that we need to change our course of action before it is too late.
Global Warming has silently crept into our society today because of big business, lack of technology, and greed. And now with a new generation of citizens who understand what we have been doing to our earth have to stand up and do what is right. Global Warming refers to the increase in the earth’s average temperature induced by human activity. Most discussions on Global Warming today show similarities between an increase in global temperature and the increase in carbon dioxide, nitrous oxide, methane, and chlorofluorocarbons in the atmosphere. Human activity increases the amount of these gases in the atmosphere and, as a result of the greenhouse effect, increases
Global warming. It’s a highly controversial and well-known topic brought to the attention of many for the past few years. Global warming is an issue that is currently destroying our entire planet. But because humans are selfish, global warming is something we should avoid addressing. In fact, we should consider supporting this so-called “issue”, as its benefits for mankind outweigh the damages on the entire planet. Global warming is here to help mankind in many different ways. A non-stop beneficial lifestyle comes from the increased temperatures of the world, outrageously rising water levels and an atmosphere filled with carbon dioxide.
Presently, while Scientists are warning us about the deleterious effects of Global Warming, “Nonscientists” also have separate views on the same issue. This indicates that Global Warming is a controversial issue that needs to be addressed. First, we need to understand the concept of “Global Warming.” Global Warming is described as the general increase in atmospheric temperatures worldwide, which results to climate changes. According to an article titled “Global Warming,” the earth’s atmosphere contains various gases that act as a blanket to trap heat from the sun and prevent it from escaping back into space. This means that these gases prevent the earth from being cold. This continued process is known as the greenhouse effect, and the gasses that are responsible for maintaining this heat are carbon dioxide, methane, and nitrous oxide. They continued, “Over time, the amount of greenhouse gases trapped in the earth’s atmosphere has increased significantly, causing worldwide temperatures to rise.” Human activities like industrialization and agriculture also play a significant role in increasing these gases. For example, the use of certain fertilizers, produce nitrous oxide and methane emissions come from the production of fossil fuels from landfills, and from livestock, they emphasized. All these evidence illustrates that we are significantly responsible for recent increases in temperatures. For this reason, it is obvious that it is a pressing human issue. This recent dramatic
Global warming is a controversial topic, widely discussed among today’s society. It is significant because it deals with the opinions and beliefs of many individuals. It also creates controversy and provides society with the opportunity to express itself and its beliefs. Many people believe that the conditions of the climate have no correlation to human behavior and that nowadays, people exaggerate the impacts of climate change. However, these individuals fail to recognize the truth behind the topic. Global warming is both a real and serious threat to our existence that humans must address by altering their actions and behaviors.
Thesis Statement: Global warming is a growing concern of scientists and researchers who believe that it is a serious problem for our planet. The concerns and research have also been questioned and have even been called myths. Millions of people find themselves affected by these weather pattern changes and are concerned for their futures. Activists on both sides of the argument are very passionate and not afraid to attack each other in every way they can. There are many questions that are still not answered, however, we continue to see drastic weather changes to Earth. We must go beyond the arguments and learn as much as we can to stop what could possibly lead to the destruction of our planet, our way of life and our future.
Climate change is happening at an unpredictable rate. Our government needs to take steps to address this problem at once. One of the biggest dilemmas is the overproduction of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gasses. Due to the excessive production of these gases, Global warming is causing a heating effect on the atmosphere, and this could be very dangerous on human lives and their existence. “Global warming isn’t a prediction. It is happening.” (James Hansen) The startling proof we have is the comparison of past and current climate changes. These include a 0.74°C increase in the average global temperatures over the last 100 years, seas-level rise of over 40mm, significant shifts in the seasonality and intensities of precipitation, changing weather patterns and significant retreat of Arctic sea ice and nearly all of the continental glaciers. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) 2007 report states that the evidence for global warming is unequivocal and there is very high confidence that this warming is due to human activity. (Maslin 41).
The earth is a beautiful and extraordinary planet, but are we treating it right? For the past 20 decades, temperatures have been rising along with hundreds of factors contributing to it. Climate change concerns the public as they wonder if its occurring, how much has occurred in the modern era, what has caused it, what the effects will be if we don’t do anything about it and much more. Many people and scientist agree that mankind is the number one cause of climate change. Humans have influenced this by greenhouse gases, methane nitrous oxide.
In recent years, the controversial subject of global warming has been more predominantly brought to our attention. Is the threat of global warming real? Is it man-made or is this just a natural cycle of earth? Does it really affect earth’s inhabitants? Should action be taken against it? If so, what kind and to what extent? It cannot be only a coincidence that the alarmingly rapid climate change coincides perfectly with the increased amount of pollutants that humans release into the environment. The once stable climate has in recent years begun to skyrocket, thus altering the delicate structure of earthly life. This proves to be hazardous to the future of the planet; some people worry that many of the resources the environment provides that
Global warming is one of the largest environmental problems of the time, and this naturally occurring phenomenon intensified by pollution has become a threat to the health of humans and wildlife, communities, and economies around the world. Normal greenhouses gases (GHGs) present in the atmosphere include carbon dioxide, water vapor, and nitrous oxide. These gases prohibit too much infrared radiation from reflecting back into space; hence, they trap this energy in the atmosphere to create a constant temperature for Earth. Therefore, the term “greenhouse” describes how these gases surround and regulate the Earth’s temperature like a greenhouse or glasshouse for plants. In addition to the natural atmospheric gases, humans have artificially created an additional GHG composed of chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) which are non-flammable chemicals are composed of chlorine, fluorine, and carbon found in refrigerant and aerosol products. Humans are not only constructing new GHGs but also dramatically increasing the amount of the natural gases such as carbon dioxide. Combing the emissions directly from the tailpipe to the extraction and production of fuel, the transportation sector is responsible for 30% of the United States’ emissions of carbon dioxide and other global warming gases. The human population is increasing and becoming more dependent on fossil fuels particularly for fuel, yet the burning of fossil fuels cause an increase of two to three parts per million in carbon dioxide
Ever since mankind took a huge step forward with the age of industrialization, we have subsequently been destroying of own beloved planet. If no serious attempt to reduce our contribution to global warming, we will lose things that makes this planet so unique. Whether people think global warming is a serious threat or not, there is no denying the major physical effects to our planet throughout the past two centuries. Global warming not only shows how poorly our everyday live treat our planet, but brings along changes to both our climate, geography, and economical issues.
There is a serious situation is occurring on planet Earth that is causing a significant and harmful effect on communities, health, and the climate. It is Global Warming which can be defined as the constant heating of Earth 's surface, oceans and atmosphere. In order to understand global warming, the most important basic is to figure out how the of greenhouse effect plays an important part in its development. The greenhouse effect is caused by increased levels of carbon dioxide (CO2) that trap heat in the atmosphere that keeps the Earth warm. The information this text will discuss is the meaning of global warming, the causes, and most importantly how citizens can help to rectify the situation. Humanity must tickle this problem immediately before the consequences increase and affect the entire planet.
