The industrial revolution was when changes in agriculture, manufacturing, work ethics, transportation and technology became more advanced. The revolution made social economics and culture prosper. This spread during the 18th and 19th century in Europe. Europe was the first place to start this revolution because it had the resources to advance technology and it was politically stable. Most people made a living in small towns and were farmers. A large amount of people at the time were poor, and malnourished, disease was also a common issue to encounter. The European industrial revolution changed this and nearly every aspect of daily life was impacted in some way. The revolution was so successful that it influenced another one.
"For the first time in history, the living standards of the masses of ordinary people have begun to undergo sustained growth. ... Nothing remotely like this economic behavior has happened before." This means that the european industrial revolution brought on this change of population in many areas. Most places grew and expanded with the amount of people that prospered in it. The part about “Nothing remotely like this economic behavior has happened before”, means that the european industrial revolution was the start and the cause of waves of migration.
Population grew because death rates decreased and birth rates increased. Town’s rural industries grew along with trade. The economy called for more people to fill in jobs such as harvesters.
Moreover, the document also helps visualize the linking of the regions in which national markets emerged, as well urbanization and industry expansion. To extend on this idea, immigration grew alongside industry expansion. For more land became accessible for sale, which was an advantage to those whom jobs (like those building railroads or working in companies near them) called for them to live near. Although the most convenient way to transport goods was using the railroad, it also worsened the economic hardship that farmers had, for the prices that they had to pay to export their goods, were quite elevated.
Peasants moved away from the country into towns they were eventually allowed to buy their freedom
The increasing population provided more workers for industrial business. Many of these new workers were unskilled and did not share in the economic
The Industrial Revolution in the early part of the 19th century had caused a significant increase in the country’s population, particularly concentrated in towns and cities, which became overcrowded due to their rapidly increasing industry providing vast employment opportunities. As a result of this
" The growing population formed an ever expanding market for the mass production, mass distribution, and mass marketing of goods, essential elements of a modern industrial economy"(pg 6).
This shows that many people have moved from rural to urban places. Less people were in rural areas, as they all wanted a promise of paid work. Some of the jobs that needed more people were factory workers, builders and many others. Many factories were built as more people moved into the urban places, to earn more money, more tenement housing was used and made. As the industrial revolution turned towns into cities, more people started arriving from Europe and other places around the United States.
peasants left for the towns, the towns grew larger. This brought a new social class to
The Industrial Revolution began in Europe and eventually made it to America in the 1780s. It was an extensive development in manufacturing, agriculture, mining, and many other jobs. The Industrial Revolution was a huge turning point in history. How everything changed so quickly, like how fast the way people were living and how things were formed. Before people stayed in tiny villages using everything by their hands and working on agriculture. The Revolution changed it all.
The Industrial revolution began in the United Kingdom, and was a period of transition towards new machinery and factories. It lasted between around 1760 to 1830. The textile industry was the biggest industry, employing the most workers, and was the first to use the modern factories and machines. The Industrial revolution increased the standard of living, grew economies and businesses, and also had a huge effect on population growth.
The times of 1750-1850 was a period of great movement and the Industrial Revolution played a significant role in supporting the movement. Whether people wanted to move or not in the end they moved. The Industrial Revolution was a catalyst for the movement for internal and external migrants by creating push and pull factors. Some people left with their families and some without in order to begin a new life with better opportunities and income, people were forced to commit crimes to make a living and agricultural enclosure forced people off their farms, all
Not many could have anticipated the rapid rise of the European industry that was realized from industrial revolution. As a note, dominance in wage labor, rapid growth of cities and evolution of industries mostly from steel and iron factories were perhaps the greatest changes that were experienced. In economic changes, manifestations were evident through the increased rates of immigration to better places, rapid growth of cities as centers of trade and changes in the type of work and working structures. Socially, reorganization of family was experienced as well as changes in ownership of jobs, rural to urban migration as well as where and when to work (Lynn et al. 413-414). Politics also played a great role in
Industrial revolution :during the 18th century and 19th century Great Britain was the starting point of machines and factories in western europe. It commenced with the introduction of steam power (fueled primarily by coal) and powered automated machinery (primarily in textile manufacturing). The technological and economic progress of the Industrial Revolution gained momentum with the introduction of steam-powered ships, boats and railways. In the 19th Century it spread throughout Western Europe and North America, eventually impacting the rest of the world. Ideologies in western europe:
Firstly, earlier those days, the industrialization had just started. Many people started looking for new opportunities outside their native. As the local opportunities were limited, so people easily got their jobs in better places other than their own countries. This led to inflow of immigrants and subsequently, rise in the population started to begin.
During the 18th century, a period known as the Age of Enlightenment emerged in Europe. During this Age of Reason, more people desired to become educated and acquire more knowledge about the world around them using their minds. People began applying their knowledge to their economy, society, and government. New ideas and theories about how to improve Britain’s agricultural methods were introduced like crop rotation and livestock breeding, and new technology was developed such as Jethro Tull’s Seed Drill. These technological advances encouraged the development of new technology and methods of producing goods, thus beginning the Industrial Revolution in Europe and cities like Manchester. The Industrial Revolution had several positive impacts on
Imagine having the same job for your whole life, while wanting to have more opportunities to move forward in all aspects of life. Then finally, one day being able to have a job, that’s what the Industrial Revolution brought. The Industrial Revolution began in the late 1700s. Prior to it, people would manufacture goods in their home, and used hand made tools for their daily life. This process began in Britain and spread to other parts of the world, changing the social, cultural, and economic conditions. Although some people may say the Industrial Revolution put people to work in factories that had terrible conditions for the workers, the Industrial Revolution provided more job opportunities and introduced new technologies used to improve life.
