4) MAXIMUM ENERGY CONSUMPTION AREA IN UNIVERSITY CAMPUS
(% CONSUMPTION)
The environmental management issues are one of energy management, which require to be looked at by facilities managers as part of their support to their organization 's efficiency and well-being. In majority of higher educational institutions, Overall energy consumption is significant due to their large number of buildings. For accomplishing the energy performance of buildings significant targeting and monitoring of energy consumptions needed. Shivaji University is selected for analysis the energy consumption area in university campus. Shivaji University is located on the border of the historic township of Kolhapur (Maharashtra) India. Shivaji University is sited in green surroundings which spread over a 356 hectare area. Shivaji University, Kolhapur developmental activities and progress increase the energy demand by uses about 5333 KWH of electricity per day for their operation. The Energy consumption pattern of Shivaji University campus has been explained from March, 2008 to March, 2011 and a results were observed to show the electricity use pattern in the last three years.
The different study areas of University campus are as follows.
I. Departments: There are about 39 departments. For data collection all the departments have to be considered as well as monthly electricity bills.
II. Laboratories: All Science Departments have one or more laboratories with an organized row of instruments
Unless otherwise directed to do so, students should work alone in doing in the laboratory exercises. Take extreme care when using the analytical balances, thermometers, and other items of equipment that are expensive and/or may be easily broken. When the laboratory exercise is completed, all equipment should be cleaned and put in its proper place or in the locker in an orderly way. The bench top and common work areas should also be
Environmental scanning can be viewed as a way of acquiring information about outside events that can aid organizations in first identifying potential trends, then interpreting them
For example, FOIA.gov [maintained by the DOJ] lists 78 independent executive agencies and 174 components of the executive departments as units that comply with the Freedom of Information Act requirements imposed on every federal agency. This appears to be on the conservative end of the range of possible agency definitions. The United States Government Manual lists 96 independent executive units and 220 components of the executive departments. An even more inclusive listing comes from USA.gov, which lists 137 independent executive agencies and 268 units in the
P5 - Describe how John Lewis would be influenced by economic factors in a time of economic recession and economic growth in the UK economy
1.1 When going into a call the first thing that should be done is to get all the materials that you need together in order to provide care. For example, if someone is bed ridden and you are changing their pad then you will need to get the clean pad, carrier bag, toilet roll, baby wipes, towel, cream if applicable and usually the slide sheet ready. By not having everything ready you will have to stop what you are doing and go and get things. The individual during this time is rolled on their side and no doubt in some discomfort and delaying the proceedings to go and get things only increases this discomfort. After providing care all materials
Environmental issues have arised in the city thanks to it being an industrious city. Pollution in South Gate is a huge problem, as it is placed in the 5 percentile of cities with the most potential health risks (D. Abendschien). Everyday residents face the combined impacts of multiple pollution sources, while also dealing with public agencies that fail to protect their health (ca-lig.org). Environmental problems in South Gate are related to the public health of the city. As I mentioned South Gate is home to industrial plants and has a history of industry and construction, which then results to air pollution in the city. In addition, to air pollution, the city is surrounded with two major freeway, the 710 and the 105. Evidence has shown that built environment factors play an important role in supporting healthy behavior and reducing rates of chronic diseases and obesity (D. Abendschien). Many argue that air pollution heightens the risk of obesity and diabetes; in South
Paul Campus is that the more energy we produce on campus, the faster we can work towards reaching carbon neutrality. Xcel Energy is only 34% efficient at getting heat to the UMN campus (1). That is 66% of the heat being lost during transfer (1). The more energy we produce ourselves the better off we will be as a campus and as a community. The University has decreased its energy demand from Xcel from 400 KW/h to 360 KW/h in just the last five years (1). If we continue to implement sustainable practices that conserve energy, we will meet our 2050 goal of carbon neutrality. The more energy produced on campus, the greater likelihood for the University to achieve its 2050 goal of carbon
The environmental issue for my Milestone project is Air pollution. Air pollution is the introduction of particulates, biological molecules, and many harmful substances into Earth 's atmosphere, causing diseases, allergies, and death to humans, damage of other living organisms like animals and crops, or the natural environment (National Geographic, 2016). Georgia air pollution has been a focus for many years. Environmental protection Agency and Clean air act has been one of the main contributors to controlling environmental air pollution from increasing. The research is on scholars, chemicals and gases connected to air pollution and health hazards. Solution for Georgia is conserving, alternative energy and renewable resources.
By utilising these schemes a total reduction of 408.9 gha and 0.1 planets is achieved. While this is a modest reduction these strategies, when implemented on a university wide scale, could dramatically reduce the overall footprint of the university and aid in meeting the ‘One Planet 2030’ Goal.
Departments in businesses all partake in important roles, departments such as human resources, accounting and finance, production amongst others remain vital to the company so it can work progressively. However, there are key departments which are desired more than others.
Development processes is connected with environmental degradation and use of natural resources. Rudel et al. (2011) assumes the present of two distinct waves of development power which control environment. The first wave of political economy deals with the power of capitalism as the main agent for environmental degradation, while the second wave concern with the social power (community) to control the use of natural resources.
Environmental problems are something which belongs to nature or known as “Mother Earth” [13]. Nature was created to help people survive from gathering foods until build a house. This phenomenon happens continuously without thinking how much damage that nature has because human’s fault. Nature gradually becomes worse and animal’s life in danger. People who are aware of the importance of nature react. Those people do several ways to save the environment. Although these efforts can return back the environment, these efforts only can be hold temporarily. This problem happens because those people who are aware of the environment only slightly; for remaining, there are people either do not know or do not care about the nature. People’s efforts
According to Mintzberg, the environmental school of thought is a strategy dealing with the forces outside the organization. Unlike the other schools in his book, Strategy Safari, the environment plays a central role in the strategy formation process alongside leadership and the organization where the organization becomes subordinate to the external environment. The environmental school assumptions are that during the formative period of the organization the company shapes itself in response to the environment, but after that period is increasingly unable to respond to the environment. Moreover, the organization long term survival depends on the early choices made during its formative period. Over time, Mintzberg states, leadership becomes
The energy analysis for the Architecture Annex was run with the settings of a 24/7 school or university building. The location was set to Urbana, IL, and the HVAC system was set to the default type. The analysis showed that most energy would be used on fuel,
In early November 2016, Delhi, India faced an environmental hazard that put citizens in a dangerous position. The air was filled with toxins that made it almost impossible for people within the city to go about their daily lives. Everywhere, people asked who was responsible for the problem and whose job it was to implement protections in order to avoid future difficulties. For one to fully understand this issue, they must analyze the monumental growth of cities in the 20th century, previous environmental issues, and India’s complex political past. These contexts can be used to develop a greater perspective on the impact of humans on the world and what actions might be taken to prevent further damage.
