Being one of the greatest minds of 17th century, Sir Isaac Newton still continues to influence the field of mathematics and physics. He has made revolutionary discoveries in the domains of motion, mathematics and optics. On top of that, he is also remembered as the founder of modern physics ' principles. Newton was born on 4th January, 1643 in Woolsthorpe, England. As the writer of the most influential book in the field of physics Philosophiae Naturalis Principia Mathematica (Mathematical Principles of Natural Philosophy), he continues to enjoy the preeminent position of being one of the most important figures in the field of physics and mathematics. This great physicist and mathematician died on March 31, 1727 in London. A lot of his contributions made in the 17th century hold true even in this modern age. With these facts, it can be safely assumed that Newton played an important role in the advancement of physics and mathematics. He was the only son of a local farmer who had died three months before his before Newton 's birth. On birth, he was not expected to survive as he was very weak. However, he did and at the age of three his mother married a well-to-do minister leaving little Newton to live with his maternal grandmother. This event lead Newton to have a strong impact on himself. It lead to an insecure behavior which Newton manifested in the form of irrational behavior while defending his published work.
