Wanted! When you hear, or say that term, the visual that may come to mind may be: criminal, old western movie, or even a comparison to a relationship. But in relation to the movie Wanted it stands for nothing but a guy that wanted no more in life but to find his purpose. A lot of us in this world never actually find our purpose in life, we just kind of settle for what we are able to do. We go through trials and tribulations to find ourselves, and find anything that will make our lives more satisfying, including putting ourselves in harms way to do it. This film stars Angelina Jolie, Morgan Freeman, and James McAvoy, which names all scream a killer movie to me. The theme represented in this movie is not only deceit and lack of …show more content…
The first theme demonstrated in this movie is Perseverance, which was illustrated in the film by Wesley, and his determination to go through all the physical test to meet standards of the fraternity. His whole intention throughout the movie was to prove that he could become more than what he always has considered himself, which is below average. When Wesley was in training he got beat up by multiple people in the fraternity, in an attempt to make him physically strong to stand anything. He learned tasks including fighting, knife work, and also how to curve a bullet. When he was learning to curve the bullet Sloan, played by Morgan Freeman, states “The first time in your life Wesley, you are in control (Bekmambetov, "Wanted"). As he shoots multiple bullets and still pierces the wrong target, Fox then stands in the middle of him and the target and says, “shoot the target” (Bekmambetov, "Wanted"). As hesitant as he was, he knew he had to have confidence in himself to complete the task. As he shoots around Fox, not knowing if the bullet would hit her, he takes his shot and hits the correct target. Sloan then says ‘Welcome to the fraternity” (Bekmambetov, "Wanted"). He then knew all his hard work had paid off! That part of the movie showed strength and perseverance.
Another way both themes, deceit and perseverance, were shown was at the end of the movie when Wesley
This paper explores the Movie “It’s Complicated” a 2009 romantic comedy film, based of the novel written by Nancy Meyers. In this movie Jane and Jake Adler are a divorced couple of ten years. They start a secret love affair in New York, at their son’s graduation. While Jake is trying to have a family with his much younger wife, Agnes. I will be looking at if this is a possible mid-life crisis, genetics, or if it a developmental issue of Jake for wanting to be with his first wife, Jane.
This movie explores issues of greed, human relationships, betrayal and redemption, personal innocence and responsibility as well as the effects on the human mind
This movie Directed by Paul Haggis who also directed Academy Award Winning "Million Dollar Baby" and had also won an Academy Award for this movie as well puts a twisted story in this film. This movie is trying to symbolize what goes on in the world today in regards to racism and stereotypes. He tries to make a point on how societies view themselves and others in the world based on there ethnicities. This movie intertwines several different people's lives, all different races, with different types of beliefs. Such ethnicities include Caucasians, African Americans, Hispanics, Asians and Middle Eastern. This movie includes conflicts on both sides of the picture from cops and criminals as well
Psycho a film directed by Alfred Hitchcock was created for the purpose of inciting fear and suspense to engage its audience.
The film consists of not only homosocial desire but of homosocial desire for a racial other; white male desire for black male bodies
This movie was another parallel of war, war is a topic that is timeless because it’s constantly around us. The basic humanity and the lack thereof, brought it into a more modern light. Every person has a drive in them at a primal and instinctual level, that makes them fight for what they believe in or run away. Little parallels like that definitely brought this into a modern light. and showed that they were just trying to survive like the rest of
In the movie, See What I’m Saying, there are three Deaf men and one Hard of Hearing women. Their names are: Robert DeMayo, TL Forsberg. Bob Hiltermann and C.J Jones. Through out the movie, each person shows us a glimpse of their lives and what they have to deal with on a daily basis. See What I’m Saying shines a light on the oppressive behaviors within the performing arts industry and within mainstream media, and how these four individuals must navigate through their lives as performing artist.
The main motto of the film was “ I want you to be forever strong on the field so that you will be forever strong off the field.” This quote is what drove rick and his new team to be the best that they could be. They didnt care about being the best they cared about fighting the hardest that they could because helping and inspiring others is what is actually important. It influenced me to be the best that i think i can be and challenge myself to become better because even if i fail i still learned how to better myself and others from the experience. I think it’s best said by the coach of that rugby team he said, “ It’s not about rugby, It’s about young men. It’s not about building a championship team, it’s about building championship boys.” -Larry

The first scene I will be discussing is when the police officers pull over Cameron Thayer, the seconnd time, with Anthony in the car with him. When Officer Tom Hansen desides to let Cameron go, you realise that he felt bad for what happened preveoisly to Camerons wife. You can tell by the look on Officer Hansens face that he knew what Office John Ryan did to Camerons wife was wrong and unethical. Officer Hansen thought that this was the best thing he could offer Cameron, which would be to let him go, or the other officers would shoot Cameron.
The film also teaches us that we must persevere, as shown by Gardner when he stood against all odds in order to achieve a perfect life for him and his son.
Another way both themes, deceit and perseverance, were shown was at the end of the movie when
The political elements of the movie are shown through the politics of violence. The movie focuses on masculinity, violence and gender. It resembles the pathology of individual and institutional violence that fills America, ranging from hate crimes to criminal subcultures. Violence functions mostly through the politics of denial, insulation, disinterest and inability to criticize with self-consiousness. This is the violence that represents society today.
Other themes that will be evident are anger, urgency, betrayal, and at times even disgust. All these themes are incorporated into this soliloquy and must be portrayed in different ways. When trying to portray this scene is therefore important that the same themes are shown no matter if it is a modern adaptation or not.
