The Los Angeles Lakers are about to embark on a four-game road trip, which will become the baptism of fire for Lonzo Ball and his fellow rookies about life on the road. First on the Lakers' list will be Kyrie Irving and the Boston Celtics whom they will face on November 8, while the road game against the Phoenix Suns on November 13 will cap off the four-game road trip. However, the said road trip will be first of many for the franchise and the first in the careers of Ball, Kyle Kuzma, and Josh Hart. The Washington Wizards will be trying to settle the score with the Lakers on November 9, while the Milwaukee Bucks seek to welcome the Lakers on November 11. Los Angeles Times reported about the NBA's efforts make it less strenuous on the players
The two NBA teams that host their home games on the same court are the Los Angeles Clippers and the clear hometown favorite LA Lakers. The Lakers, who in June 2010, captured their fifth NBA Championship since moving to Staples Center. They also capped-off each of their first three seasons in the arena with the NBA most prolific and dynamic duo the Shaq and Kobe era; which resulted in winning three consecutive NBA Championships. The WNBA which is growing ever so popular also founded a team in 1997 which too calls Staples center home. The Los Angeles Sparks captured back-to-back WNBA Championships in their first two Staples Center campaigns. As for the Los Angeles Clippers they have yet to bring home a championship but along with the Kings both setting franchise records for attendance and sellouts since moving into their adopted home. Thus showing Downtown Los Angeles is the spot to come out to see all the bright lights and excitement that is
Before the start of the game there is always a pre game show with the two hosts for the T.V. broadcast on court somewhere talking about the game. However the first thing I noticed when we took our seats was there was another game being played on court amidst the chaos of all the cameras and people on court for the pre-game show. To further involve the community and the fans in Clipper basketball, before the game there was a YMCA basketball game between two local
The match-up will be against the 2 time defending champions Los Angeles Sparks, making it one of the most exciting finals in league history.
Their most notable free agent signing was point guard Rajon Rondo, who ended his tumultuous half-season with the Dallas Mavericks on a sour note. The Kings small forward, Rudy Gay, played a key part in recruiting Rondo, being that they’ve been close friends for years; Gay even had Rondo in his wedding a few years prior. Rondo also has ties to fellow Kentucky Wildcat,
This whole rivalry started in 1984 when the Clippers moved to L.A. The Clippers originally played their games in the Los Angeles Memorial Sports Arena, while the Lakers were winning championships in the Forum. In their first matchup the Lakers won 108-103, and with that a “crosstown rivalry was born” the Associated Press wrote. While the Clippers were rebuilding, the Lakers had put together a super-team dubbed “Showtime.” With Magic Johnson running the whole thing and 38 year old Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in the post, and with that duo the Lakers won the championship in the 84-85 season.
The (0-3) Los Angeles Lakers are back in downtown Los Angeles, at the Staples Center, to battle the (1-2) Denver Nuggets. The Lakers are facing the unenviable task of changing the narrative and after three straight losses, attempting to remove the stench that is emanating from their defense.
For the past week or two, we’ve been hearing about this debate about the All-Time Lakers against the All-Time Bulls. Every basketball fan on social media has shared their thoughts on this matchup of All-Time teams. It’s even gotten to the point where Scottie Pippen and Shaquille O’Neal went at it with each other via Instagram. All-Time Bulls Team that’ll consist of Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen taking on a Lakers team that’s stacked with nothing but Hall of Famers, is an intriguing discussion but is it really a huge debate? If the two teams were to meet in let’s say a seven game series, would it even be close? Some think Chicago would win while others believe that the Lakers would dominate and that I wouldn’t be close. I’m on the half
Initially, the disaster could have started when the Lakers selected Russell over Jahlil Okafor in the 2015 NBA Draft. After making that pick, the first thought is, "ok, they'll get at least one out of Aldridge or Love, right?" Well, instead they will enter the 2015-16 season with Roy Hibbert at
For the sixth straight year, the Clippers -- with Chris Paul, Blake Griffin (albeit not present after yet another weird injury), and DeAndre Jordan -- have been bounced before the West Finals. For the third time in five years and the second straight year under head coach and President of Basketball Operations Doc Rivers, the Clippers have been bounced in the first round.
A fresh trade rumor is swirling around between the Sacramento Kings and Boston Celtics nowadays. And it involves seldom used center Willie Cauley-Stein of the Kings and point guard Terry Rozier and shooting guard/forward James Young of the Celtics.
Alright fantasy basketball fans it’s time to for my latest installment of my GF2 team previews. In my latest NBA preview we’re going to take a closer look at a very intriguing team, the New Orleans Pelicans. New Orleans made waves last season and are expected to be even better this year. Star power forward Anthony Davis is by far my favorite guy this year for fantasy, so we’ll stray away from discussing his absolute greatness. We’re going to look at three guys who I have rostered over the last few years who all have tremendous upside.
Los Angeles Lakers got the better of the visiting Memphis Grizzlies with a 107-100 victory at the Staple Center on Tuesday evening.
Many NBA fans assume the Lakers will select UCLA point guard Lonzo Ball with the second overall pick. From the gecko, Lonzo Ball’s camp made it clear that they wanted Lonzo to play for the Lakers. The night the Lakers were revealed to have the second pick, Lonzo and his team (his father and brothers) were shown pumping their fists, as if they had just been drafted. Although many have slotted Lonzo in as the number two overall pick there are an abundance of reasons the Lakers should pass on Ball in favor of Jayson Tatum, Malik Monk, De’Aaron Fox, or Josh Jackson.
They might want to go to Phoenix, instead. Or New Orleans, or Salt Lake City, or anywhere else the Lakers are scheduled to play road games, because there has been a strange twist in the Kobe Bryant farewell tour: He is skipping a lot of home games, but not missing many chances to say goodbye to opponents’ fans.
The Bucks are looking to unload both Monroe and Carter-Williams and the Kings are a prime destination. The captain of garbage time statistics, Carter-Williams, would thrive in Sacramento playing along side the offensive juggernaut that is DeMarcus Cousins.
