The book I read was The Happiness Project by Gretchen Rubin. This book was published by HarperCollins Publishers in the year of 2010. It is a non-fiction book that contains 320 pages. This book was about a woman who decided she wanted to increase her happiness. She set resolutions for each month that she thought would help her to achieve happiness and better her mental/emotional, social, and physical health. This novel is an overview of the year of a woman who decided that she wanted to improve her health by increasing her happiness. She sets different resolution topics for each month, for example, one of them was “Boost Energy”, and then she makes a list of specific subset resolutions that fit under that category, such as “Acting More Energetic. Another one of her resolutions was to start a blog. She end up using the blog she created to talk about her Happiness Project and document her journey as well as connect with other about their thoughts on happiness. The resolutions that she makes are a compilation of things that she knows she enjoys, things she wants to get better at, and new things she wants to try that she’s never done before. Before this woman took on her Happiness Project she read tons of books written by all sorts of different people, such as religious leaders, philosophers, and scientists, and tried to find out the best ways to become happier. She talks about these different people’s perspectives on happiness and how to achieve it throughout her book and I thought it was really cool to see these different people’s thoughts. This book was slightly more challenging to read considering the woman used higher level vocabulary and some of the quotes she inserted in her book were written a long time ago, which means they weren't written in modern day
