The Heroes Deed Analysis

Hero’s come in many different perspectives. Some might view a hero as the fictional super heroes. Other’s consider hero’s to be modern day people. Some qualities of a hero are someone who is courageous, brave, and kind. A hero is a person who is admired for their courageous acts and achievements. They never give up even when times get hard. It’s more about the hero taking a stand for what they believe is right. Taking a stand counts more than winning.

A hero is defined as someone who in the face of danger steps up and puts others needs before theirs, expecting no reward in return. In the article “What Makes a Hero?” by Phillip Zimbardo, the author expresses that everyone has the ability to help others, whether it is a small deed like leading a guiding hand to someone who needs it, or it can be as intense as pulling someone out of a burning car. The writer attempts to emphasize the importance of doing the right thing by stating,  “Few people do evil and fewer act heroically.” (Zimbardo). In addition, heroes act not for the fame or the money, but for their own satisfaction. ~ In the article “What is a Hero”  paragraph 4-5 the author states that a what makes a hero is “A heroic act is one performed with recognition of possible risk and cost, be they  to one's physical health or personal reputation, in which the actor is willing to accept anticipated sacrifice. The key to heroism is a concern for other people I need your concern to the find a moral cost knowing there is a personal risk done without expectation of reward.” Basically a hero is someone who helps others not because he is asked or he will receive  a reward but someone who does it to be kind.

They don’t have any superpowers or special abilities, but the can reach the heart of others and inspire them with their stories. They grow out of their hardships or help others who have difficulty growing out of their own. Hero’s see everyone as like minded people, instead of focusing on each other’s differences. Three ideas that define a hero are humility, mindset, and selflessness.

For some people, being a hero or having heroic attributes includes zooming in with super speed to save to city from a monster, but in reality there are no aliens or super powers. A hero is someone who puts others needs before theirs, like Elie Wiesel in Night. Sometimes people aren’t considered heroes, but have heroic attributes like Hans in Journey to the Center of the Earth. Heroes like George Washington are heroes who are also leaders. Although many heroes are considered heroes, some are just put in situations where they must be heroic in order to survive.

Being a hero is all about helping people when being bullied or standing up for your rights and having bravery in your mind and courage. Hero’s take risk, they aren't cowards,and they show lots of bravery. Heros put other people's feelings into to their shoes and show their empathy towards they.They don't let the go through things alone.

A hero, as defined in Webster’s Online Dictionary, is a person who “a person admired for achievements or noble qualities” or “one who shows great courage.” However, a hero is not just a person with outstanding achievements. A hero is a person who is philanthropic, generous, and kind. Heros fight for those who cannot fight for themselves, and do not judge those who they are fighting for. They are charitable in ways other than donating money, they give their time and effort in order to make the lives of others more pleasant. Heros display bravery, as they are willing to go into a dangerous situation to help others that have been aggrieved. Social pressures and judgements do not affect a hero’s willingness to help others, and they are willing to push through what others say

Heroes will always try to do the right thing. They will put other people’s life above their own if they are given the chance to. This may include running into a fire to save someone, or helping a friend out if it is the right thing to do.

The common theme of guilt is depicted in the excerpt from "Heroes" and the excerpt from the anonymous email through the author's use of diction and style. The excerpt from "Heroes" is when Larry LaSalle takes his own life after feeling deeply ashamed for the terrible things he had done. The excerpt from the anonymous personal email is about a person describing how they wouldn't have been alive, writing the email, if it wasn't for someone that came in to their life and saved them. In the excerpt from "Heroes," Larry says to Francis, "If I wanted one thing, it would be to have you to look at me the same way you did at the Wreck Center. When I was the big hero you say I was. But it's too late, isn't it?" Larry reveals his last wish to Francis

And that, ironically, is heroism: not to be recognized” If someone can go out of their way to help someone in need, not just for s reward, that person is a hero. A hero can sacrifice something for themselves to help others in need. A hero can fix problems, but they do not need super strength or the ability to fly, they can be a normal person. A hero is someone who keeps fighting for what’s right, any ordinary person can be a hero, heroism is not being selfish, it’s being selfless.

As Novalis a famous German poet and philosopher once stated, “A hero is one who knows how to hang on one minute longer.” A hero shows worry as all people do, but can push through and be courageous. A hero works for others, not thinking of themselves. Because heroes are people who put others before themselves, going above and beyond without the worry of their own safety.
