Dance involves many styles of dance for example hip hop. Hip hop has been in the dance industry for many decades, dating back to the late 60s and early 70s. This genre did not become popular until the early 70s and that is when people around the world had started to become familiar with this type of music. It has grown in popularity all over the world. It had also described many of the youth that were brought up in poverty-stricken places. Hip hop was used as a voice for disenfranchised youth of low economic places. Hip hop developed in the inner city of New York City. Among the African Americas who lived in poor areas. Hip hop was created by DJ Kool Herc, whose original name is Clive Campbell but many people know him as Father of Hip Hop (Djkoolherc.com, 2017). Clive was an 18yr old immigrant who had moved to Bronx, New York City in November 1967. He had started off by hosting block parties at his apartment and had soon started hosting parties for his community. His influence came from funk, reggae, rock and soul, these categories of music were usually played at the dancehall and he would listen to the songs being played. Eventually DJ KOOL had come to realise that many people had only received true excitement when the beats were played at a faster pace and were heavy pumping beats. DJ KOOL had developed new dancing patterns and new ways to reflect his sounds, he had shared his interests with famous artists and eventually was signed a record deal to produce his music.
