Can the wrath of a mighty dragon be halted by one mere, small man? The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien is a story set in a fantastical world with the plot and theme beautifully woven into the text, which wonderfully adds layers to the characters. A summary of such a story is as magical to explore as the world is comes from. Bilbo is a Hobbit descended from Took & Baggins, families that are wealthy and respected in the Hobbit community. Gandalf is an old that has known Bilbo’s family for a very long time. He was very well known in the Hobbit community before he went away. Gandalf rather forcefully invites thirteen dwarves into Bilbo’s home. Of those thirteen, Thorin is their leader. The main protagonist of this story is Bilbo Baggins, who is known for being very sneaky and quiet, he is amongst a very small elite group of Hobbit’s who have a knack for adventure, with some convincing he agreed to join Thorin and his group of dwarves because 13 is an unlucky number, but little did they know that he would play such an important role in their quest.
