The home of the tallest mountain, the birthplace of Gautam Buddha and the only country without a square flag is where I come from also know as Nepal. I was born at Koshi Hospital in an urban area in Biratnagar, Nepal on July 08, 1997. During the 1990’s Nepal was in Demographic Transition Stage 2 also known as Agriculture Revolution. The Birth rate is still high and so is the Infant Mortality rate but the Death rate began to fall because, in this time period, folks aren’t moving around anymore instead they take care of the crops and live in the houses with a stable source of food. The average fertility in Stage 2 is over 5 but this model doesn’t fit our family because I don’t have any siblings and am an only child. My parents faced many difficulties and went through many hardships growing in a big family , so my parents wanted to have only one child but maybe they would have had more kids if they continued farming and living in the rural areas of Nepal but because both of my grandparents sent both of my parents to school to get an education which I I believe impacted on their decision on how many kids they wanted. It was specially rare to see girls attending school and getting education during this time because girls were taught how to cook and clean rather than being sent to school because child marriage was very common and girls were prepared at a young age to become a good housewife but my grandparents were very supportive of my mother when she asked to attend school which
Several scholars have linked birthrate decline to female education. Educated women, they reason, generally prefer smaller families, allowing them to pursue their own interests while investing more resources and time in each child. As it turns out, the map of female literacy in India does exhibit striking similarities with the map of fertility.
I decided for my project that I would spend the time researching Mount Baker. Mount Baker is located about 30 miles east of Bellingham, Washington. The Cascade Mountain range extends over 140 miles between Seattle, Washington and Vancouver, Canada. Mount Baker is a Stratovolcano, which is also known as a composite volcano, it is also the highest peak in the North Cascades and the fifth highest in the Cascade mountain range (Volcano Hazards Programs). Cities located near Mount Baker include Abbotsford, British Columbia and Bellingham, Washington. The closest stream to the mountain is the Nooksack River which runs near the west side of the mountain. On the southwest side of the mountain is Baker Lake. I chose this area because it is a very

Everyone knows that Everest is the tallest mountain in the world. They know that attempting this feat is more challenging than can be fathomed, and in Jon Krakauer's words “an intrinsically irrational act”. Looking at Everest metaphorically I believe everyone has their own mountain that they have climbed or are currently climbing. In my life, I have discovered my “Everest” to be my education, and not only the school part itself, but the in between parts and working my way up through balancing school, work, as well as family and friends.
It seemed to be an average day in Mountain Ridge High. The football team had just defeated the Clearwater Caribou with the help of the captain and quarterback, Clyde McDaniel. Clyde scored four touchdowns in the first half alone, one of which included an 89 yard carry after a turnover by the Caribou’s safety, Jackson Campbell. Throughout the school day teachers and students from around the building congratulated Clyde on the big win. However the one congratulations that Clyde wanted was the one congratulations he didn’t receive- a congratulations from his girlfriend Anna. The night of the game Anna’s mom had been diagnosed with stage IV acute myelogenous leukemia, so Anna had to stay in the hospital in case she passed. With bone marrow transplants,
Why do we deserve such a beautiful mountain that was the foundation of many accomplishments and created goals for young mountaineers, when we are just going to take it for granted? Although climbing Mount Everest is a great achievement, being able to keep it clean is even greater. Scaling up the mountain has many positive results yet there are still negative consequences. Climbing this particular mountain means that there is a negative side, almost as large as Mount Everest itself.
On May 10th 1996, the most catastrophic storm on Mount Everest took place. On this day a group of mountain climbers would reach the summit of Mount Everest, but five would not make it back down. The climbers reached the summit early afternoon that day but were not expected a fatal storm to hit. The storm strangled many on the top of the mountain and killed 5, including one of the most respected high-altitude guides in the world, Rob Hall.
Krakauer is flying above India. He has a minor panic because he is flying at the same altitude as the summit of Everest. He arrived in Kathmandu where he meets Andy Harris, he works for the mountain guide company. They both have no experience. He meets another climber named Rob Hall. The novel talk about Hall’s history- he started his career as a gopher and raised through the rank. It took him 10 years and 3 attempts to reach the summit of Everest. Ball dies from cerebral edema. Krakauer goes to base camp with amateurs.
Ring ring, you answer the phone the women with a sincere voice informs you that your loved one’s body has been found on the top of Mount Everest. Sorrow, pain, and regret all feelings you have when you heard the news. The families of those 250 people in which received that call all felt sorrow, pain, and regret. Mount Everest, a mountain people dare to conquer, but most fail to accomplish. Therefore, I believe that Mount Everest should be closed.

The metaphor of the mountain means that all parts of life age and grow old. The cutting down of trees symbolize getting bald. The metaphor also means that you can retain your knowledge and wisdom when you get older. The mountain can still retain its beauty even though the trees were cut down.
